"Mercure Hotel - George St, Sydney CBD."

Good central location which allows quick access to buses & trains and then onto circular quay for the ferries. Quite noisy at night due to traffic and drunk party goers. Sydney airport is 40mins away.All staff are helpful and know the city well. Breakfast is too expensive at $25.00 for a cookedone & $20.00 for continental style. Luckily there is a McDonalds and Subway and KFC and Mexican fast food place across the road. Local 7-11 shops also which sell fruit and bottles of water. There are also authentic oriental food restaurants across the road. Don't look like much but the food is great.Rooms are clean & tidy. No thefts reported in this hotel whilst i was there. My bathroom required a revamp but all worked well.Taxi rank is outside and the hotel is used by airline staff enroute to there next destination.In conclusion nice location at nice price with nice helpful staff and local eateries nearby.A tad noisy but who wants to sleep in a great city like Sydney.

Hotel is positioned perfect for rail or bus, every thing at the hotel worked out good for our stay. If I had to find some thing to comment on, I would have to say the breakfast was a little disappointing, but we did have it each morning so it couldn't have been too bad.

Very happy with this hotel for our one night in Sydney for a concert at The Enmore Theatre. Location near to Central Railway was ideal & the bonus of $50 for food & drinks made the stay very reasonably priced. My only complaint would be the driving directions which told me to turn at a "no right turn" corner both approaching & leaving the hotel but driving in Sydney is always a challenge!! Excellent breakfast buffet with great bircher muesli - a favourite.

When we come down to Sydney from"up country" we always come by train and stay at the Mercure on George St. It is so convient, close to the station, the buses, China Town and an easy stroll down to Darling Harbour. The service is always friendly, their restarant very good and their breakfast very substancial. We don't consider staying anywhere else.

A smooth check in with an upgrade being provided, and appreciated, though the room was ready for one guest. Have stayed at this hotel a number of times as it is handy for rail transport. Will certainly stay again. Only disappointment is that wifi is chargeable, we have just returned from China & Hong Kong & all hotels in which we stayed provided wifi free of charge.

Not too far out of town, taxi's are usually right out front of hotel. Everyone was very helpful. Room was great, if i had to find something bad about it just would be the shower was a little out dated.. But otherwise very very happy :)

Went out to the Cross for a friends 30th Birthday and stayed at the Mercure Sydney and I must say the service was exceptional. Carmen, the lady at the service counter, was very friendly and accommodated our request to stay in an interconnecting room. The rooms were spacious enough and very neat and tidy. I would most definitely stay there again. Keep up the great work guys!!
"School holiday getaway"

We recently stayed at the Mercure Sydney with our 2 young children. The stay was for a school holiday getaway so we loved that we were close to trains and a short walk from the markets and monorail - it meant easy access to Darling Harbour attractions and Luna Park. The room and bathroom were small but we couldn't fault the cleanliness and service. Twice we needed to contact housekeeping and both times they arrived very quickly to meet our requests. On check-in we were offered a lower price for breakfast and the children ate free. The kids loved that there was a pool as well. We would definitely stay here again if we could get a similar rate.

"Great value in Sydney"

We had a very nice stay in this well located Sydney Hotel. It is great as a base as excellent public transport is very close to the hotel. Our car was safely garaged and it was easy to access major roads when leaving. Apart from breakfasts we also had an evening meal at the hotel and it was superb. The staff were friendly and extremely efficient. We will definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, met all our expectations.We chose on the basis of location, and for easy access to transport, this place is tops.Using the cityrail we were in our room 35mins after collecting our baggage from thedomestic terminal carousels.

"Perfect location."

My wife and I spent 3 nights at the mecure sydney and would highly recommend it.We travelled by train to sydney from the southern highlands,the motel was only a short walk from the station.Even though we arrived 2hrs prior to normal check in we were able to access our room on the 13th floor by excellant front office staff.The close proximity to all sydney has to offer was a real bonus(provided you dont mind a short walk).Travel tip for those who enjoy a social drink.Check out "happy hour" both at the hotel and venues close by,saves you a fortune.

"Great Family Place, Excellent Location"

Very friendly and helpful staff, pool small but fine for kids, excellent location. Breakfast was included for us, but we would not have paid $25 for it as we didn't see the value. Shower was a little scary for our 3 year old as the water sprayed wildly, but there was a tub too, so all was well. TV was a little dodgy and noisy but we weren't in Sydney to watch TV. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others. Very family friendly and accommodating. Close to Chinatown for cheap eats. Look for a weekend getaway package for great value!

The Mecure is located in the perfect position. You can access most places within walking distance. The rooms are small but comfortable and the lifts are quick. The service at breakfest was not the best having to wait for the hot food for the buffet. They could also use additional staff for checkin and chect out. Overall the stay was very good.

"Nice and Central"

Great hotel in a very central location. Bus's on doorstep and trains not far away using a well lit tunnel (walkway). Also easy to get taxi's. Plenty of places to eat close by as well as at the Mercure. Nice clean bar at ground level. Concerge offed a great service. All nice and easy.

Living in Lake Macquarie means that when visiting Sydney its more convenient to stay over than travel both ways when visiting Sydney CBD. We decided on the Mercure because of the location; pretty close to everything, including rail, light rail, chinatown, Darling Harbour.. Accor once again didn't disappoint. flawless stay, service, reception, quality of everything including food.ceewE DECIDED ON TEH mERCURE Vsits more convenient

Good Hotel in excellent location. Front Office Manager Amanda gave considerable help when chronic pain in back and leg made it necessary to cancel an overseas trip. Other staff were compassionate and extremely helpful as well.

My stay at the Mercure in Sydney was fantastic. The staff were friendly and helpful - even though I was walking through the lobby most of the time dressed in workout gear (I'm a Personal Trainer/ Group Fitness Instructor and I was in Sydney for a Fitness conference - Filex).

"Good Little getaway"

Wow this a very good Location .It is on one of Sydney fastest moving streets but once in side of this hotel its very quite. The Family room is good for a small family.There was only one majar draw back it was not clean Beds and floors where clean but any thing above shoulder high was very dusty for a 4 star hotel which it is in my opinion needs to be better clean. Oh yes one other thing we never go our wake up call and almost missed our plane back to Perth WA. But over all I would Recommend you stay here.

"Average accommodation/disappointing breakfast"

Hotel was average> Handy to park on site.Room smelt musty and air conditioning did not apprear to be working.My bed bounced when someone bounced on the wall on the other side bed was hard and uncomfortableBreakfast had dry grainy scrambled eggs and a coolish coffee with minimal flavour. I ate at McDonalds the 2nd day. the Indian breakfast appeared even drier - poor IndiansLocaiton was good for anything in the Haymarket> Not that expensive.

room was nice, service was excellent but in the other room i booked there was hair under my friends pillow only down fall. and the water wasnt hot it was luke warm in the shower so that was dissapointing. i like that there is parking underneath the hotel it was easy to get into and out.
