My family and I recently spent one night at the Ibis Styles Amiens Cathedrale. The hotel is extremely well situated for easy access to all that Amiens has to offer and was very clean and tidy. Whilst the quality of the breakfast was slightly below that which we experienced in some of the other Ibis hotels, its saving grace was the quality of its staff, particularly those behind the front reception desk. One gentlemen in particular (unfortunately I can't remember his name) went out of his way to make our stay in Amiens a thoroughly memorable occasion. He spent a good 15 minutes helping us get our bearings, and was extremely knowledgeable about Amiens, local events, places to eat, things to see and how best to spend our time etc. He was a fantastic representative of Ibis and advocate of Amiens. On a side note, whilst the hotel does not have its own parking, there is a large underground car park a five minute walk away (7 Euros for 24 hours).
Hotel is OK, though price not worth it. Dropped unlucky as many hotels full, prices consistently high throughout town. A hotel that could have been full of character as in an old building, but seems to have been lost. Was quite a walk from the station, but handy for the town centre.
The young Lady on reception was amazing helpful welcoming and friendly. It was not her fault that the heating did not work in our room. Eventurely a convector heater was found to replace our mal-functioning one. It was not the Receptionists fault that she was the only one on duty and we had to wait a long time for our welcoming drink. She was not on duty the following morning when the quality and quantity of the breakfast was seriously lacking. Otherwise we enjoyed our night in Amiens
Dear Agbird, Thank you for your comment. I apologize for the heating problem. This one is now repaired. For breakfast we offer a wide choice, don't hesitate to ask the waitress for help if you can't find your happiness. I hope to see you again in our hotel. King regards, Nicolas Chaix, Manager.
An abysmal dump, more akin to a student garret than a hotel. The website view showed the hotel looking out over a square, which would make one's arrival and overnight parking a simple matter. Unfortunately, the square was long ago transformed into a huge apartment block. As an Accor Platinum card holder, I complained but got nowhere. Conclusion: Pay the extra and book into the Mercure just up the road.
Dear, Actually there is work in front of the hotel, but it will be totally finished within one month. I'm sorry for this problem. For the parking, we have a negociate price with an underground car park at only 100m. (4€/15h). Or around our hotel there are parking spaces. This is a charming hotel with some facade dates from 18th century. All our bedrooms are unique! When you return to Amiens, please contact me, i'll give you a superior room. King regards, Nicolas Chaix, manager.
Good hotel, excellent service& staff, very clean, extra large bed very comfortable, bathroom first class. Close to cathedral & town centre, short walk to find some where to eat .good stop over place , handy for short run to tunnel
My family of four had a room up in the eaves of the hotel. My kids, aged 11 and 15 loved the beamed ceilings and the sheep wallpaper. The single beds were quite narrow and there are only tea and coffee making facilities in the lobby. Breakfast was adequate however the breakfast room was small and often very crowded, one morning they set up extra tables in a meeting room. The hotel was in a good location, close to the cathedral and about 10 minutes walk from the train station.
As Australians, we were "en route" travelling between Amsterdam to our home in Finistère/La Bretagne. We were especially drawn to spending one night at the IBIS STYLES AMIENS CATHEDRALE because of it's proximity to the Australian War Cemetery at Villers-Bretoneux. The IBIS STYLES AMIENS CATHEDRALE was a very clean, friendly, English-language Hotel. No complaints what-so-ever! Parking was a bit difficult, but safe once found. Amiens is a youthful University town, with a delightful ambience and historic appeal. Great choice of restaurants nearby. We would stop-over here again whenever travelling the 1100km by road to/from the Netherlands.
Dear Judith, What a pleasure to discover your comment! I'm glad you enjoyed your journey in our beautifull city of Amiens, and you had a good stay in our hotel. We hope to see you gain, maybe for next travel to Netherlands!! Kind regards Maxime Bourgois, manager
This is a former all seasons hotel, which we felt was a fantastic concept. We previously stayed in this type of hotel in Bourges. However, this particular hotel is looking tired, our bedroom was certainly in need of a refurbishment. The staff on the reception could have been more helpful about where to park our car, they were generally efficient and pleasant. Breakfast was up to Accor standards, which is good. The location of the hotel is excellent a easy walk to the cathedral and the main commercial area. I would stay again. It is however not the standard that I have become to in Accor hotels.
Dear Guest, Thansk for your comment on this website. Your satisfaction is our best priority and we try everyday to provide you the most quality service. We hope to welcome you again in Amiens. Kind regards Maxime Bourgois, manager
Chosen on the net, based on other places we had stayed at a similar price so had a reasonable assumption of what the accommodation would be like. Not a bad location despite all the construction going on around the hotel as it is within an easy walk to the Cathedral. Friendly and helpful check in staff left a good first impression, the cute courtyard left a good second impression . However the room decor and standard was a shock. Not at all worth the price paid. Further disappointment at breakfast where the lone staff member went missing and self serve from the kitchen became necessary. Learnt quickly not to base expectations on price.
Dear Sue G, Thanks you for your comment. I'am very disappointed about it. We try every day to offer to our guest the best prestation. I propose to you to contact me by email (email@example.com) in order we check together how we can resolve the wrong things. We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future. Sincerely, Maxime Bourgois, manager
I stayed here with my family for ANZAC Day last year and again recently before I embarked on a walk trhough the Somme. This hotel is good value for money, clean, wifi that works well and an excellent breakfast that is available from 6am. Certainly would stay here again.
