"Car Parking Expensive"
19th September 2013, jrp1945, Adelaide, South Australia
The room was basic but acceptable, with 2 very comfortable queen size beds. There was no hotel information guide in the room to tell us what was available, both at the hotel and nearby.. When I rang reception to make an enquiry, it rang for several minutes but I couldn't get anyone to answer it. Probably because there was only one person at the desk and every time we went past reception, there was always several people lined up waiting their turn to be checked in. On the saturday afternoon, we had arranged to meet some friends in the bar for a few drinks, followed by a meal in the restaurant, only to find that neither is open at weekends. Consiquently, we had to go to the Mercure hotel next door, which was fine, but it would have been nice to know before hand, the opening hours. We did eat in the Ibis restaurant on the friday night and it was very good. I guess my main complaint was the additional cost of $27/day to park a car there (or specifically near by). I have previously (some time ago) stayed at both the Ibis and the Mercure, and there was no charge for car parking at either. Would I stay there again? Yes I would consider it, but I would consider other locations as well.

Could not be better. Well situated suited us perfectly an easy walk to the heart of the city plus very central to the ferries and the walk bridges to the South side. Staff were great and very helpful to us. Internet was very good no dropped calls. Glenn.
"No restaurant or room service on weekends!!!"
19th August 2013, furryfrenz, Forster, Australia
Nice hotel but no room service or restaurant open on weekends. We had to dial for a pizza!!!! Disappointing as we had stayed here before and had room service. Asked for tissues as had none in bathroom and still hadn't received them on checkout. Had no volume on TV and maintenance had to come to room and reset the tv. Car parking was an issue also - had to park in hotel around the corner and walk back, which is where you could get food - The Mercure and the Ibis were interconnected by a long walkway with stairs.View management response »
Management responseThank you for your feedback. I am of course very sorry to learn that certain aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations, particularly in relation to the reliability of your in-room facilities, and the restaurant dining options. Unfortunately the Ibis Restaurant is closed for dinner service over the weekend. Alternatively all guests are able to purchase items off our ‘Grab it and Go’ menu, as room service is not available at any Ibis Hotel. Please be assured that our in-room facilities are undergoing maintenance inspections daily to prevent future occurrences I hope we will have the pleasure of welcoming you back to the hotel. Please feel free to contact me directly as I would be pleased to personally oversee your reservation and assist in ensuring your stay exceeds your expectations. Everything was as it was advertised. Nice clean rooms, friendly staff and close to where we wanted to be. Didn't like the buffet breakfast, cold and looked a mess at the counter so didn't make you want to eat it.View management response »

Could not fault this hotel, great location, great service, great price. We well continue to stay when in Brisbane. Value for money, easy walk to everything in the city, safe to do so. Loads of public transport with in 5 minute walk. Excellent eating places nearby.

Very good for overnight stay. Friendly and helpful staffBar and restaurant closed but directed to restaurant at Mercure next door. This was top quality but maybe too expensive for overnight stay, needs a more moderately priced eating option.
"Business Trip to Brisbane"
14th July 2013, gonzo4408, Sydney, Australia
My stay was pleasant from the staff at check in all the way to check out. The room was extremely comfortable and I enjoyed my short stay. The hotel provided easy access to all my required meetings and the First floor coffee lounge provided a great meeting place for business clients

I travel throughout the UK and Europe for business and use the IBIS regularly and found the staff at this hotel to be above average and in fact set a high standard for others to follow, nothing was an issue.I was there to follow the Lions and see the first test, all staff were more than willing to accommodate any request for information and tips for where to go and what to do a major plus. the staff took pride and this was obvious in the cleanliness and standards throughout. whilst I was paying a premium due to the demand for rooms i did not feel that it was poor value given the staff.

Reception great. Staff were willing and obliging. Handy position - about three blocks to Roma Station, the central hub for Brisbane transport. About three blocks to Queen Street Mall. This was our second time at Ibis Brisbane.Rooms were adequate but I felt that the bathroom needed more shelves or hooks. A bit pokey. Beds were changed and made each day. Super bed, the best we have encountered. Room spotlessly clean.Great breakfasts

This is a good hotel for the price abd the service also was good. The sataff new the city well and were very helpfull. One thing would be good if there was a map of city at front desk this would be very helpfull for geeting round the city itself.
