Although the hotel is OK, the common areas are old and out of date. The carpets in the hallways look as if they are the original carpets that were installed when the hotel was built. The rooms have been refurbished but the mattresses were still old and hard. Room service was very slow. I went to the bar to order a sandwich and was told it would be delivered in 20 min. After 40 minutes I went to the bar to pick up my meal. It was ready, but then the bartender would not let me take it by myself, he insisted on accompanying me to my room, making the situation a bit uncomfortable. Upon checkout I was informed that there was a fee for having an extra person in the room. This extra person was a registered guest and the person who checked us in said nothing about the extra fee. In the end I was made to pat the difference even after explaining the situation to the manager. I was told in a very condesending manner that maybe I did not understand, because my portuguese is not perfect. Was an OK experience until the checkout. Customer Service not a priority.

As for the carpet, we exchange it two times since the opening of the hotel and we are waiting definition of a new product type, as paviflex to make this change again.
