ibis Edinburgh Centre: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Ibis Edinburgh May Stay"

19th May 2012

The location is excellent. The hotel and services offered are at least as good as some of the so-called high-end hotels nearby. It's excellent value for money (providing you manage to avoid its highest prices on a peak weekend).

ibis Edinburgh Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great Location"

9th May 2012, Birmingham

This hotel is in a brilliant location to explore Edinburgh it's just off the Royal Mile and a short (but hilly) walk from the station/airport bus terminus. Rooms are basic Accor/Ibis standard but perfectly good for a short stay and staff are friendly and helpful. The coffee out of the Accor standard machine is not great so stick to tea or something else!

ibis Edinburgh Centre: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Great Stay"

5th May 2012, LilyDaisy12, Guildford, United Kingdom

Great location half way up the Royal Mile, and within easy walking distance of the station. No complaints at all, in fact it was much quieter at night than I had expected probably due to it being tucked away in a little square.

ibis Edinburgh Centre: 3.0 out of 5 stars "My stay"

30th April 2012, antonia1957, Los Angeles, California, USA

This is well located and reasonably priced. The rooms are in the standard Ibis hotel design used in all their hotels throughout Europe, so familiar. The beds are spartan and could do with warmer quilts or blankets, and a choice of feather or manmade fill pillows, as they are hard and flat. The option of a room with a bath tub would also be good. All in all, however, the quality is fine for the price.

Beautifully clean and minimalistic room. Only down sides were the lack of free wifi and the view was pretty bad.

ibis Edinburgh Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Fine hotel if sleep doesn't matter...."

29th March 2012, Greenville, South Carolina, USA

Chose this hotel for its proximity to Waverly Train Station and access point for buses to the airport. Worked out fine for both--could walk, with luggage. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Room was basic, as expected, with a good bed. BUT we were awakened throughout the night by shouting and the sound of bottles smashing outside below our room. Asked the desk in the morning if there was a special event in town, resulting in noise, etc. Reply was that what we heard was just a typical Saturday night in Edinburgh. Caveat emptor.

ibis Edinburgh Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Perfect location, helpful staff, and good value out of season."

25th March 2012, London, United Kingdom

Just off the Royal Mile the hotel couldn't be better located for the tourist. The only downside was noise in the corridors until 2.00 am from young students. However the staff were excellent and very responsive in moving us after the first night from the first floor to the sixth and the noise problem was solved. In any case try to get a room on as high a floor as possible because, if placed at the back of the hotel, on the lower floors you have an office building looking straight into your bedroom. (Sixth floor solved this).Looked elsewhere to get a cheaper breakfast but the hotel was good value given the location and so had breakfast there.Staff cannot be praised too highly for their help and friendliness. The hotel is highly recommended but watch the prices for the tourist season and the summer festival!

13th March 2012, Joleou, Singapore, Singapore

Strangely I have stayed in Ibis London City and Glasgow Mercure and it is definitely quieter than Ibis Hunter Sq. Also, they claimed they have given me the quietest room in the hotel. Good thing is it is quite clean and spacious.

ibis Edinburgh Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Hotel good, but need better internet policy"

22nd February 2012, Vilnius, Lithuania

90% of my hotel stay's are in Accorhotels, and almost half - in Ibis. I have got in Edinburgh everything, what I expect - good location, perfect breakfast, clean rooms. SUPER STAFF on reception, I love them all :) Especially when they prepare me breakfast at 04 00. Only one minus was - internet. I expect free internet it any Accor hotel - and I have it before even in Etap. But here I schould pay almost 9 GBP per day and speed was unbelievable slow.

ibis Edinburgh Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great location, good price"

19th February 2012, Kilsyth, United Kingdom

Breakfast was livened up by a fire alarm and evacuation but it was a nice morning and my coffee was still warm when the fire brigade gave the all-clear. Booked in advance so the room rate was reasonable and breakfast much better than the nearby Holiday Inn, so this will become our pied-a-terre in Edinburgh fromnow on.

ibis Edinburgh Centre: 5.0 out of 5 stars "My first stay in Edinburgh"

11th February 2012, Kuiipo, Santa Clarita, California, USA

This was my first trip to Europe and I was not disappointed. This is a very beautiful city and The Ibis hotel where I stayed was centrally located just as advertised. The staff consisted of young employees who were very friendly and helpful. Though I traveled in December and darkness falls early around 3:30 pm I felt safe walking by myself. I recommend having your breakfast in the hotel so that you can get an early start on your sightseeing. One tip I do have when traveling in the UK on trains, is to always ask where the train is going before you board, when I left Edinburgh for London I got on the wrong train and ended up having to buy another ticket which was costly.

ibis Edinburgh Centre: 1.0 out of 5 stars "IBIS EDINBURGH"

6th February 2012, London, United Kingdom

Having just arrived from a cold Sheffield where the room heating at the City Cenre Ibis struggled to keep up, I was hoping that the room at the even colder Edinburgh was up to the task. It was indeed with a lovely warmcomfortable room with a "proper" bathroom rather that a dropped in "pod" (nothing wrong with a pod). The hotel is very well located and in terms of value for money who can ask for more from the recession challenged business expenses. Would definitely use again.

ibis Edinburgh Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Nice, clean, well located hotel"

4th February 2012, Bogota, Colombia

The hotel is very well located on the Royal Mile, close to restaurants and less than 10 minutes walk from the Castle and the in the middle of the city centre. We choose it for the location, and also because Ibis offered the winter warmer sale. I liked more the bathroom at the Ibis Nottingham, but, this hotel aslo had a decent and clean room and bathroom. I also valued the fact that I had a room with a view (our Nottingham window faced a wall) and the personal was nice and respectful. The breakfast buffet wqas very complete and we could choose every day from different meals every day, although the buffet is the same all days. The bed was comfortable and we sleep very well and everything was clean and tidy. Tank you for a nice, affordable stay in this beautiful city.

ibis Edinburgh Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Fantastic location, slightly tired facillities"

1st February 2012, London, United Kingdom

We were really pleased with the location. Staff were helpful and friendly, really what would be expected. Unfortunately the building is a bit tired but for the price still reasonable. The window in the room wouldn't open properly, so we couldn't get much fresh air.

25th January 2012, Aberdeen, United Kingdom

Stayed here as a birthday treat for 3 nights from my husband & we both enjoyed our stay. The staff were extremely polite & friendly but the best thing about it was its location. It was so central to all the sites yet tucked away in a corner just off the Royal Mile.

ibis Edinburgh Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent location"

21st January 2012, Leeds, United Kingdom

This hotel has a great location just off the Royal Mile with lots of restaurants and facilities nearby. For what we paid it was certainly very good value. We would say to anyone intending to stay here - DO NOT TAKE MANY CLOTHES! The hanging space is absolutely miniscule and wholly inadequate for two people staying for three nights who don't want to go dining in Edinburgh in their travelling clothes every night. As soon as we took our outdoor coats off the wardrobe was full!

ibis Edinburgh Centre: 5.0 out of 5 stars "A windy night in Edinburgh"

8th January 2012, Glasgow, United Kingdom

We stayed in this hotel to go and see "We will rock you" which was on at the Playhouse. I work in Edinburgh sometimes and had spotted how central this hotel was - almost in the centre of the Royal Mile. The staff were great - especially since we were stranded in Edinburgh the next day - high winds caused all the railway stations to close and bus services out of Edinburgh were also off - we were given free coffee once we returned from the closed station. Rooms are clean and just big enough (though sitting on the toilet is a bit cramped!) Breakfast was good and there are plenty amenities nearby - cheap oub next door etc. We were woken in the night by a boyfriend/ girlfriend arguing in the street, even though we were six floors up. Guess this goes with picking a very central location. Price was reasonable too for off peak. I would stay again.
