Mercure Queenstown Resort: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Lovely expansive views from dining room & bar"

21st May 2012, Michelle M, Wellington, New Zealand

What a lovely hotel with great views of the lake. An excellent choice of breakfast options with express, continental and cooked buffets. The public bus goes to the hotel every 30 minutes until about 10pm at night so don't be put off that it is up a hill. This is a bonus as there is no traffic and downtown Queenstown noise.

Mercure Queenstown Resort: 4.0 out of 5 stars "My stay at the Mercure"

28th April 2012, Yvonney798, Auckland, New Zealand

Beautiful view of lake and mountains - exquisite. Connectabus came to hotel and was easy to use to get into queenstown and arrowtown withouth the expense of hiring a car. Staff were friendly. The room was quiet but I am not sure how many people were staying there at the same time as us. So close to Queenstown that it only took 10mins max to walk there and enjoy the beautiful scenery on the way.

We stayed at the Novatel the previous night but your staff made the experience all the more memorable with their great attitude.

Mercure Queenstown Resort: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Kris Purden Review"

17th April 2012, KrisWaihi_NewZealand, Waihi, New Zealand

We enjoyed our stay in Queenstown but felt the poor maintenance of the room let the hotel down (Room 222). The bathroom was particularly shabby with a dr ping tap, top screws of taps missing and a chipped bath (all easily fixed). In the main room the first view was of wrinkled net curtains - again minor but not a good first impression. On the first day our room was not serviced by 2.30pm but was quickly attended to when I requested that it be done. However the service at the check in desk and restaurant was of a very high standard.

Will certainly be back this time with my wife during the snow season depending on tarrif. You did not ask for a restaurant review which as a retired chef i found excellant in both the food and beverage. The related costs as well as the quality were much better AND cheaper the your competitors.

Mercure Queenstown Resort: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Fabulous views and great food"

21st March 2012, Gore

Definately value for money, with fabulous views and great food..My husband and I stayed at the hotel recently, we had our own car so great to have free parking on site,There was a bus available to the centre of town if we didn't have the car. We had a friendly welcome at the reception desk, the dinner was tasty, well presented, and the breakfast was one of the best we have seen at a Mecure for choice and good food .The room was lovely and clean and had a fresh feel about it, & bed was very comfortable.I was impressed with the modern gym equipment and was able to have a great workout with an inspirational fabulous view over the lake.

Mercure Queenstown Resort: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great views of the lake"

18th March 2012, Christchurch

A brisk walk away from the town centre (there is a bus), the Mercure is in a splendid location. The view from the dining rooms makes a wonderful backdrop to an excellent breakfast buffet and dining experience. Staff is helpful. The public rooms are well appointed and pleasant. The private rooms (if our's was a representative sample) while clean could do with new furniture, they look tired and in need of a facelift. Our room's windows needed cleaning. One cannot get the full benefit of the view through dirty windows. Despite this drawback, we had a very enjoyable stay.

We had a room with great views. I would recommend a room with lake view. It was quiet and out of town. Meal was great.

Building is starting to show age, but services were very good. Location is quiet with great lake views. Clean, tidy rooms that were spacious and well fitted out. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The location is a distinct advantage in that it makes you think twice about being in town. If organised you'll get what you want in a minimum of visits to town and subsequently enjoy your free time at the resort or undertaking other more meaningful pursuits. Town centre is readily available through the local connectabus service running every half hour anyway. I always believe you get what you pay for.... however the Mercure offers as an excellent standard of facilities and cleanliness and certainly as good as, if not better level of service. There was no apparent difference between the room i had at the Novotel in town and that of the Mercure. Perhaps only the age of the fittings which was something you really had to look hard to notice. Views beat the Novotel hands down. The price per night that i paid at the Mercure was not much more than half of that at the Novotel.PS. Novotel, don't get me wrong, i really like your hotel. I thought the free internet service of 20mins for club members was brilliant and told the Mercure so. They looked after me all the same.

Mercure Queenstown Resort: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Not Bad"

28th February 2012, Tan G, Surabaya, Indonesia

first time go to New Zealand and also go to queenstown, I stayed at this hotel 2 nights and the staff helpful, but unfortunatelly our key door is broken, it's hard to enter our room, everytime we want in, we must down again to call the staff to open our room, it's make me upset because we are tired already. we stay here with Accor member, and there's be welcoming card also chocolate (thanks mercure). the view is good, but the location is not so good, if you want go to central queenstown, you must walking about 15 minute and the taxi is also expensive. overall this Hotel is ok, when i was here, the pool is under renovation.

Mercure Queenstown Resort: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Mecure stay"

23rd February 2012, Christchurch, New Zealand

I specifically chose this hotel and the time of year for my trip based around the availability of a swimming pool and spa pool. The pool was out of action while we were there(in the middle of summer!) and the spa pool looked unclean and was emptied while we were there so we couldn't even use this.I asked before I came how to get to the hotel prior to my arrival and was told to catch a shuttle or taxi where I actually found theat queenstown had a great bus service and I used this at great saving...........it is worth telling prosective clients this info.My room was a little dated, however, this wouldn't have mattered if there was a better set up for sitting down. I wound up sitting on the spare bed which was a waste, I would have happily sat in my room around the tablle with 2 chairs( I didn't feel like sitting around table on the chair at the desk.I found the meals at the hotel average(the hash browns were too fried and the squid was too salty)On the positive side I found Hiro helpful.I enjoyed the walk every day to town so location wasn't a huge problem to me but could be a pain for someone else. There were a lot of hotels in queenstown that were offering cheap prices for their rooms on wotif, so I would do this instead next time. (I paid the Accor price, but if I waited on wotif I could have got this room for $80.00)I would only recommend this to someone if it was for a cheap price.

Mercure Queenstown Resort: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great View"

13th February 2012, Melbourne, Australia

Really great place to stay, friendly staff, parking late at night a small problem.Pool was advertised as heated , however was to cold to have a dip.Found it dificult to get a drink by the pool, had a drink special for the day put on the table by staff, then they disappeared. Had to find a phone in a corner to order the drinks which took ages.Would stay again.

Mercure Queenstown Resort: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Mercure Hotel for CCR Concert trip"

Liked most the quiet location, lake and mountain views from restaurant and room and lawn area, good bed, swimming pool and sundeck, regular bus service to/from town, Room booked on sale rate, so great value.Liked least the smelly lifts.

Mercure Queenstown Resort: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Value for Money with Superb Service"

30th January 2012, wellington

I have stayed 4 times in this hotel, compared with other hotels in Queenstown, Mercure resort is great value for money. Rooms are big enough with great views of lake Wakatipu, Staff and service are very friendly. Be sure to try a blissful and leisurely 15 minute walk from the hotel to the city centre, and experience the breathtaking and stunning view as you go down the hill. This magnificent and stunning landscape any time of the year will live in your memories of your trip to Queenstown. The breakfast and dining areas offer one of the best backdrops for your photos..

Mercure Queenstown Resort: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Relax and Play Queenstown"

24th January 2012, Brisbane

Great views of the lake (if you choose a lake view room) and very helpful staff for local knowledge and tour information. A little way out of town (you'll need to taxi back) but good for the sight see'ers instead of the backpackers.
