"Very nice landscape, and bedroom, yet to improve the breakfast"
11th April 2012, AntonioBat, Madrid
Very nice views from all over the hotel. The reception desk used to be more likable in the past,; the waiters in the breakfast room were perfect as well as room service. The quality of the breakfast was somewhat disappointing to me since there was no "home made" products, all very industrialized, ans yogurts were quite tasteless.
"Ignore the bad reviews"

Wonderful 3 night stay, the hotel is old fashioned in style but well looked after (certainly not sad and needing a make-over as some may suggest). The view from the balcony both during the day and at night where stunning.and the staff very friendly and helpful. San Sebastian is a lively busting area with excellent bars and food.not to be missed.Only negative comments are no coffee facilities in the room and 5 euro/day for wifi are unacceptable in an hotel of this class.
"Take a short break during business trip"
30th September 2011, Bangkok, Thailand
We just would like to find some place to spend the time during our business trip in BilbaoAnd some colleague talk something about "San Sebastian" then we search information from internet and finally book this hotel on the top of Monte Igueldo coz we love to see great view of the beach and town. And we really enjoy staying here. View is really fantastic!! I can spend whole day and night enjoying view from my room balcony :D
"Spectacular Location."
13th September 2011, Opfikon, Switzerland
Hotel location on the top of Monte Igueldo is spectacular, with views down over Atlantic and/or San Sebastian bay; enjoyed the noise of the surf on the rocks far below; free car parking; 5min drive to San Sebastian town centre. Price is a little higher than our usual target, but worth it for the view. If you are not mobile, you'll have to take the funicular (not free) and a bus into town, or else a taxi. Spacious lobby. Room up to usual Mercure standard, seemed to have been re-furbished recently. Did not take breakfast, but you can get a coffee and croissant at the bar, or there's a cafe around the corner, but the prices are much the same. The hotel restaurant is not recommended: it is not good value, and my wife was served fish which was not properly baked; go to one of the fantastic tapas bars in town instead ! But we would stay again for the view !
"Stunning!"
27th August 2011, Colchester
Wonderful position, with in my opinion the best views in the world! A great spot to explore the city of San Sebastian, our children loved travelling on the Funicular down the hill and also riding on the (expensive) rides at the fair that share the mount with the hotel. Friendly staff, spacious clean rooms, excellent swimming pool, great panoramic restaurant/bar and did I mention the view?!
"Wonderful expiernce BUT"
30th July 2011
First of all there should not have been an extra charge for Hotel guest to ride the Finiculey[motor car]Second As a special service to your guest, Special DVD should have been provided in English, since no English speaking channels were provided.Thrird TAXI'S were not available to handle all our luggage
"Watch out for the extras"
25th July 2011, sotogrande
They allow dogs in the hotel but don't tell you that there is a 27E (!) surcharge until it is too late. No mention of a surcharge on the web or through Accor either. One 'fine dining' restaurant' only, not really possible to walk to the town / beaches / shops etc. Apart from the view can't see any reason to want to stay here.
"Excellent stay"
4th June 2011, san sebastian
This hotel is situated on top of the hill overlooking San Sebastian bay. It looks directly down on the bay and island towards the old town. This hotel is reached by a very windy road or you can get the funicular. The views are stunning. The inside of the hotel is beautifully appointed. This is a real tourist attraction and not to be missed.
"Need a refresh of the room. Looks old"

"Nice Hotel with bedbugs"
8th January 2011, Valencia
This is an average 4-star hotel very nicely positioned with spectacular views on San Sebastian. My review would be overall positive if it wasn't for the fact that my partner woke up with *bedbug* punctures on her back in each of the three mornings of our stay. We have some experience in that area since we lived in New York for a short period about 4 years ago and went through the same ordeal: large red bumps which become very itchy after about 2 hours from appearing, and disappear after about 5 days of treatment. This was also confirmed by an emergency doctor. The timing of their appearance and the fact that no new bumps popped up after we left the room locate almost unequivocally the bugs at Mount Igueldo Hotel. On top of the bad experience our whole luggage has had to undergo a strong cleaning treatment to make sure we did not carry any bugs with us. Beware.
