"Not as Good as other Mercure Hotels in Paris"

I found the rooms dated and a bit shabby, the TV system and tuned channels was very poor. No proper curtains in the room just sun shades. I have stayed in a number of other Mercure Hotels in Paris and found this hotel not to be as good.

We stayed 17 days at this hotel as we waited to move into our permanent apartment; we picked it specifically because of the kitchenette and found that the grocery store and the weekly markets in the plaza just next to the hotel (Friday and Sunday) helped us avoid constant eating out. There do not appear to be any local laundry mats and the hotel prices were too much for a weeks worth of a family's laundry. It is located on the RER A line at Nanterre Prefecture. There is a local park just a few minutes walk away with a playground. Sundays are very quiet after 1 pm - only a few places are open for eating. Free WIFI and daily room cleaning service were both very nice. Kitchenette was modest but functional (stove, microwave, fridge, but no oven). You will need dish washing soap.

Who would have thought that the best part of £200 per night would get you a hotel where the lift stank of stale urine, the bed was broken, the room shook every time the metro went underneath and it was nowhere near la Defense, let alone Paris. Breakfast was just as depressing, by 8.30 most things were empty, the apple juice i had was fermented and rotten and the scrambled eggs on the cold side of tepid. I found the whole experience depressing and sad. The owners must agree that their guests are as bad as the hotel, as they had emptied the mini bars in all the rooms, just to be on the safe side. nice.

Television transmission was of very bad quality (not enough broadband). The RER goes under the hotel, I was sleeping on the 7th floor and was awakened each time it went under the building. Breakfast service was unfriendly, the fact I asked for a café crème was disruptive.
