Mercure Porto Centro Hotel: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Exceeded our Expectations, Great Value for Money"

18th May 2012, Dennis_Alexander, York, England

Booked a 2 night stay. On arrival, were told that our package entitled us to a free bottle of sparkling wine which was a nice surprise. Another pleasant surprise was the provision of free wifi internet access throughout the hotel. Our room was very clean and was cleaned thoroughly each day. Breakfast was also better than expected, with a small selection of hot food and good coffee. Drinks from the bar are reasonably priced. On checking out, the reception staff offered to mind our luggage for the day without having to be asked. In all respects, this hotel exceeded our expectations, even though we had stayed there previously, and at a very reasonable price. Location is very convenient for the Guindaes funicular down to the riverside and for vintage tram route 22 which stops right outside the hotel. The only minor downside is the long haul up the hill from Sao Bento station.

This hotel is located in the Center of Porto. Perfect for the turism! And the hotel is very nice and calm.

Mercure Porto Centro Hotel: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent Value!"

17th February 2012, CorkieSF, London, UK

This hotel is perfectly situated for exploring all of Porto. It is right in the middle of the town, high on a hill, with great views from the rooms at the back of the hotel. It offers excellent vaue for money, with well maintained rooms and free wifi. Staff on the front desk are also very helpful and friendly. Overall appears to be a really well run and well maintained hotel. Highly recommended.

Mercure Porto Centro Hotel: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good Porto Hotel"

5th January 2012, Hamburg, Germany

Enjoyed our stay at the Mercure Porto Centro! The hotel was clean and staff were pleasant. The hotel was very close to all sightseeing of Porto, to the train station Sao Bento. The bus stop of Yellow Bus was also directly by the hotel.

Mercure Porto Centro Hotel: 4.0 out of 5 stars "stay at the Mercure Hotel - Praca Batalha"

20th October 2011, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

I have been staying at several Mercure hotels over the years on business and vacation in Europe. This particular one in Porto is well located. Staffs at the registration desk were courteous and very helpful. Overall, this was a pleasant stay and this hotel is up to the standard you would expect from this chain of hotels. One comment is that the breakfast area is very noisy as the room layout lends itself to echoes and sound reverberations.

Mercure Porto Centro Hotel: 1.0 out of 5 stars "The biggest disappointment"

4th August 2011, Almancil

Booked this hotel is only due to the fact that he is close to most sights of Porto. The hotel was dirty, very old and untidy furniture. The quality of breakfast beats appetite forever. Needless stay like stills of the poorest slums of New York. In the begining wanted to move to another hotel. Retain only the fact that this hotel was paid for in advance. If you want to visit Porto - Find something a little less intimidating. Otherwise all the good impressions of the trip will be suppressed memories of this hotel.

Mercure Porto Centro Hotel: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Oporto Visit"

16th July 2011, Gordon

We visited Oporto with another couple for the first time. The Mercure Hotel was most pleasing .Staff were helpful and multilingual. The Hotel was situated in a very good location and the parking was adequate although tight, however in old European cities this is to be expected. The breakfast was marginal with the coffee being cold on both occasions we ate there. The only other negative was that there was a lot of spivs trying to extract money for no service

Mercure Porto Centro Hotel: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent value"

3rd June 2011, Harrow

Excellent four-star hotel with comfortable rooms and a wide choice for breakfast. The air-conditioning was particularly appreciated as the temperature was over 30C during my stay! Also a great view over Porto from the room. Close to Sao Bento station. Only downside is the steep hill up from the station - although there is a tram available every 30 minutes until about 19.00 for those who don't fancy the climb!

Mercure Porto Centro Hotel: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good location"

1st April 2011, PORT MACQUARIE

.Handy location close to the old part of town. Walking distance from the station but take the uphill road from the station - the other way is down then up along narrow streets. The hotel is convenient to the Funicular for getting up from the riverfront.
