"A great holiday at Novotel Phuket resort"
29th January 2013, DuvCapeTown, Cape Town
We had an excellent holiday at the Novotel on the hill overlooking Patong beach. The rooms were clean spacious and well equipped, the bed very comfortable, and the general service from all staff excellent. The hotel is situated above the noise and bustle of the town yet close enough for shopping and the beach is just below. I would highly recommend this hotel.Choose a sea view it's worth it.Dave Evans

"Novotel Phuket Resort Review"
20th December 2012, mattpro1, Singapore, Singapore
The hotel uses very young inexperienced trainees in most areas including the reception, concierge and restuarant. I could not find even a single manager or supervisor monitoring the activities. Most trainees were from a different country and not able to provide useful information on local (Phuket) attractions or specifics. I felt I was not in thailand. All that the restuarant boys (waiters) cared for was to remove our plates and forks from the table the moment we would keep our forks down. (as if they had been trained to do only that one task of removal of plates !!..) it was so annoying at times that I literally got offended many a time with their over enthusiasm for this task. The room I stayed in was a suite and was pretty decent except for the fact that I had to carry a baby up four floors to reach my room. (an elevator is still under construction).. certainly a WRONG CHOICE For a family with infants or toddlers. The location was also not the best with no shopping options in the near vicinity. Access to the beach is also difficult. The beach closest to the hotel not the best. Overall I would rate my experience as "sub-par" for a Novotel site and would surely not recommend this hotel to any of my friends.

We enjoyed our stay at the Novotel Phuket Resort. The location was great, facilities well maintained although showing some ageing and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. I'd recommend staying at this location any time.
"Very positive"

My family and I had a wonderful holiday experience with the Novotel in Phuket. I would certainly recommend it; so much so we have now made it our choice when holidaying in Phuket. Not only is it a good ambassador to the destination, but reinforces the quality brand that one expects and comes with the Accor Group.

perfect place for beautiful views and yet far away from the noisy patong baech crowd.convenient shuttle by the hotel is a bonus. novotel also has fresh seafood and with your accor card it is so cheap at 50 % discount.
"Friendly service and great family location"
31st July 2012, Quicktrippers, Brisbane
The facilities are starting to look a little tired and worn and are due for some refurbishment, although the main lobby and restaurants looked great. Our room was quite large and readily accommodated the four of us, with the inclusion of a roll away bed alongside the 2 double beds. aircon was effective - it was needed at this time of year - but a little noisy, although you got used to this. But for one dodgy power point, everything else worked fine. Mattresses were nice and firm - no sagging - and comfortable and everything was clean. No clock in the room, but the wake-up call when needed was reliable. Service was always excellent and with a friendly smile. We were regularly greeted by all of the staff and even offered a complimentary cold drink whenever we lingered in the lobby (waiting for friends, or waiting for a tour departure). Buffet breakfast was always excellent with a pretty good choice of hot and cold western and asian foods. Although the cereal was limited there was plenty of choice with pastries. The omelette man was a dab hand with the skillet. The nightly themed banquets didn't seem too popular, and didn't seem to compete with the a la carte options at the on-site restaurants. The hotel restaurants were consistent quality, reasonably priced and compared well with ones downtown. There are lots of food choices in nearby Patong, if you don't mind a walk or tuk-tuk. The street side food vendors provide a really cheap meal, but this can be a mixed experience. We liked the location - you have a view out across the bay and across the Patong beach and town centre as the resort is situated on the side of a headland. The elevation also gave you the nice sea breeze. Although there are a handful of shops (including the ubiquitous Family Mart- 7Eleven equivalent) just across from the resort entrance, you need to walk about 15 mins to get to a good assortment of retailers and eateries. It's about another 10 mins to the heart of the Patong nightlife and the JungCeylon plaza (or a free ride in the resort bus across the middle of the day). Not too far away but far enough for some resort peace and quiet. Once you walk the 100+ stairs down to the street level you are also at the northern end of the beach. The sea was a bit rough and not as clear or clean as expected, so we avoided this. The 3 hotel pools were great and we had fun with the pool basketball and volleyball. KIds club suited small kids only. We'd stay here again.
"Faultless"

Whilst not a new hotel, there was nothing we could fault about it. The rooms were very clean, the service was excellent and the staff were all very friendly with no request being too much trouble. It is situated a distance from the nightlife and main part of Patong Beach but a shuttle bus is provided on a regular timetable between 100o am and 4.15pm to and from Jung Ceylon shopping complex which is situated the the busier part of town. The meals in all restaurants were of a high standard, particularly the Thai restaurant, the Ruan Thang - where they were excellent. We went for a relaxing holiday and achieved that and more thanks to all involved at the Novotel Patong Beach.
