Novotel Phuket Resort: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Phuket experience"

19th May 2012, Hobart

We enjoyed 3 relaxing days at the Novotel in Phuket. Just far enough away from the busy Patong strip but close enough to enjoy a walk along the beach. Lovely quiet location, overall service very satisfying.

Novotel Phuket Resort: 4.0 out of 5 stars "From Hill to the beach"

7th May 2012, Tangerang, Indonesia

Good location, beautiful view clean and so quiet. Good environtment and suitable for family. Close to the beach.

Novotel Phuket Resort: 5.0 out of 5 stars "old Novotel Phuket"

27th April 2012, brucebylee, Sydney, Australia

Not right at beach but 10 minutes away and regular free shuttles from hotel. On side of mountain with stunning views and above any tsunami waves. excellent lunch at hotel but buffet breakfast was just average. 3 pools great for kids. nice ambience, combines traditional thai & modern architecture and plenty of greenery. We only stayed 3 nights so did not have dinner at the hotel. the massage was heavenly and affordable!

Novotel Phuket Resort: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Bad service"

23rd April 2012, Oz_e_travels, Cairns, Australia

The Novotel is in a good location and is high enough and away from the beach. The service was very poor and disappointing. The language barrier was also a problem. The staff that can speak English still struggle to understand.

Novotel Phuket Resort: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Communication issues"

22nd April 2012, crazy8cairns, Cairns

I organised a group of 8 persons to stay for 10 days at this resort and was overall not impressed. On arrival we found communicating with check in staff to be tedious, eventually we got there though. The next morning breakfast was included on certain rooms which was booked through the accor website. It took over an hour to rectify this issue. We attempted to book a table of 8 each breakfast only to find us placed in the back garden and totally ignored for the duration of breakfast. This would have been fine if we didn't need staff to provide coffee cups let alone coffee. Some morning they simply refused to put empty tables together and we were forced to move them ourselves after an argument. There was an employee called Elizabeth who proved to be the only god send for this hotel. She recommended a fantastic tailor and greeted us whenever we saw her. Her english was great. On needing a phone call made to the tailor re: pick up no one would help. Only to be eventually told we need to pay for it.We had two meals in the al a carte restaurant and both times food failed to arrive that was ordered. The hotel is in perfect position in Patong, the breakfast was beautiful and the rooms were clean and comfy. The bathrooms are extremely small though. I would only recommend this resort again on the discounted accor rate we received.

Novotel Phuket Resort: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Novotel Patong - Great place"

10th April 2012, Janene D, Mornington, Australia

We recently had a short stay at The Novotel Phuket Resort, Patong and found it really lovely. We would like to stay again at some stage. This is an older resort but has everything that one needs, beautiful lobby, pools, rooms and views etc and far enough away from the shops to get away from the hustle and bustle. Staff were very polite, friendly and efficient. Breakfast fantastic.

Novotel Phuket Resort: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Impressive hotel."

2nd April 2012, Darwin, Australia

Our stay at the Novotel Phuket was an impressive surprise. We had an absolutely fantastic experience and totally enjoyable holiday. Our only complaint is that the staff are not overly friendly automatically. We found by our third day that the staff had gotten to know us and our friendly Australian manner and were greeting us with smiles and hellos. There were way too many Russian visitors for our liking, who are very arrogant, rude and unfriendly. We had an issue with our air conditioner, which was dealt with immediately. As the issue was going to be ongoing "Kathy" from reception upgraded us from a superior to a deluxe room - it was awesome! The room and the balcony and the view made our stay a pleasure and one we will not forgot - thank you Kathy and Yulia for the upgrade.

Novotel Phuket Resort: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Minor expectations, Major disappointment"

29th March 2012, Singapore, Singapore

I went back to stay at the resort after 2006. The location , multiple pools and view is the best part though I did see newer resorts along Diamond Cliff. The hotel definitely needs renovation incl the pathetic indoor sports (pool table/foosball etc). The biggest disappointment was that I booked a month in advance to celebrate my son's birthday (25 Mar). The hotel graciously confirmed a cake and greeting card that never arrived till we left the hotel at 2 PM on Mar 25.What made matters worse is the attitude of the caucasian woman at the check-in desk. Her cold and casual attitude was extremely putting off. I explained the issue, her answer was that the person from the reservations desk (who confirmed this argmt) was on her day off. She did check the system and tell me that a cake was booked but somehow did not get delivered. (her opinion was that it was room service's fault)..She told me in an extremely offhand fashion that she will convey my complaint to the people concerned.I hope someone who understands what a child's birthday means to a parent and what hospitality is about reads this and does something about it.I have writtten to the reservations desk (same person) but not sure if anything will be done.I will never stay at this hotel or recommend it...

Novotel Phuket Resort: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Better than most"

13th March 2012

I've stayed at 3 other hotels in Patong and this is our second stay at the Novatel and by far the best. Saying that it was also the most expensive but you get what you pay for.... Other than the location which is a little out of the way from the hustle and bustle of Main Street there are no other negatives.....3 pools spectacular views, awesome breakfast.Would have liked a late check-out because my plane wasn’t leaving till 3 pm but otherwise OK …

Novotel Phuket Resort: 5.0 out of 5 stars "amazing hotel as usual all Novotel!"

Novotel Phuket Resort: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Not too exciting...."

6th February 2012, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

The hotel itself was relatively clean, with its location at the end of Patong Beach and nice view from lobby - However, the room we stayed in was terrible, our room "room 537" was close to the lobby, and it felt like staying in a dungeon, low ceilings, extremely noisy, very hollow sounds coming from the corridor when people were walking by, echoing throughout...., but worst of all the room was very, very dark - it supposed to be view of the garden, but it was more like looking at bushes the whole time, it covered our view completely........ it was a family room, but felt like bunker.... The hotel itself has a nice layout, but very outdated, pools are pretty nice, but as many say, absolutely no food or bar service available and as many point out messy and dirty tables - towels for pool you have to sign for and return them after use, bit of a hassle, especially when you are at top or lower pool with children. The main restaurant is crazy over-priced and the quality of the food is very very poor...... The staff was very friendly and helpful, but the hotel really needs a renovation.....

Novotel Phuket Resort: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Novotel Phuket"

26th January 2012, Melbourne, Australia

Overall very good.Just a few areas that let it down was house keeping. Our room wasnt made up for the three of us as booked ,didnt have a TV guide and when requested was given a hand written note which wasnt correct. Also some days i would get ice and others have to order it and the same was for fresh milk for a cup of tea which we had to order every day and was charged or it on our last day.A suggestion for around the pool service. We spent a great deal of time around the pools and had lunch there most days. There where 3-4 attendants at the bar at all times. If we wanted a drink or something to eat we would have to walk down two or three flights of stairs to place an order .In my opinion your sales would double if you had one or two attendants do the rounds every half hour to service all the guests around the pool.We just did a long cruise and that is what they did and would always get a lot more sales because a lot of the fat lazy tourists wouldnt get out of there seats if they could possibly avoid it especialy if the pool had three different levels.

Novotel Phuket Resort: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great spot with kids"

25th January 2012, Singapore, Singapore

A great hotel location for young kids. Just across the road to one end of Patong beach where the kids can avoid most of the crowds and play. Nice pools with depths for little ones to stand up.Hotel shuttle up to the markets and shopping centre is very handy and will save you some THB.Food is a reasonable price within the resort and a short walk to many eating options along Patong beach.Kids club could bee a little more interesting and be a little more structured, but other than that a great place to holiday.

Novotel Phuket Resort: 1.0 out of 5 stars "will never stay here again!!"

13th January 2012, Anj16, Brisbane, Australia

hopeless service from Concierge and reception!! and very very rude!!! Will never stay there again.. location not good at all, very far away from everything..The AC controller in the room wouldnt work and they couldnt fix it but they finally got me a fan as the room was getting hotter..

Novotel Phuket Resort: 4.0 out of 5 stars "A pleasant experience"

12th January 2012, Jakarta, Indonesia

We stayed for 3 nights and was very happy with our overall experience. Very warm and helpful service, we felt that the rates are slightly on the higher side however we could not use a lot of the services. Would recommend definitely if you wish to have a nice time in Phuket
