Mercure Paris Lafayette: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Extremely small rooms"

12th April 2012, family-with-infant10, Brussels, Belgium

While the location was good and we found a good deal, the rooms were just too small. And the beds smaller too. Travelling with a small kid - meant it was very difficult to manage much sleep on the very small bed. Breakfast was average, bathroom also very very small. I would never go back to this hotel again. Definitely not like other Mercure Hotels.

Mercure Paris Lafayette: 3.0 out of 5 stars "n/a"

29th March 2012, London

location of the hotel was the good thing I could say about this hotel but I think the hotel could do much much better in terms of quality of service, value for money and the quality of the accommodation itself

Mercure Paris Lafayette: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good value for money for location"

11th January 2012, little-fat-git, canterbury england

If you can pick this hotel up in a sale it is a bargain. We paid 190 Euros for two nights in an upgraded superior room, and it was well worth the money.Whatever you pay, the extra for an upgrade is well worth it just for the spaciousness. We had a (for Paris) very large room, with a settee and a full length bath as well as shower. Road noise was minimal, again by Parisian standards, and the double glazing worked. The bed was extremely comfortable, as all Accor hotels tend to be.There is a bistro just up the road, Royal Bergere, which serves very good, typical French food, unpretentious and great value for money again. It is not for the snob, but someone who wants a good meal and wine at a reasonable price in a place used by a lot of locals. There is also a very good North Vietnamese restaurant the other way, which is again very good value for money, and extremely good. All in all, a good place to stay in the centre of Montmartre close to all public transport links and major attractions. The Folies Bergere is no more than 150 yards away.

Mercure Paris Lafayette: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Average hotel : too pricy for what it's offering"

8th October 2011, Brussels, Belgium

Hotel is somewhat renovated, but doesn't justify the high price I've paid.Breakfast is over priced (17€ for a limited buffet)Free wifi in rooms, but hardly any signal on 4th floor.Location is ok (close to metro station serving two lines).

Mercure Paris Lafayette: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Need more flexibility from front desk during check-in"

13th September 2011, Washington DC, District of Columbia, USA

Even though the stated check -in time is 12 noon, most of the flights from the USA arrive early. It would be helpful if the front desk shows more flexibility to passengers that have arrived after an all night travel by being more responsive for early check-in requests. I arrrived at 9:30 am and had to wait for almost 2 hours to secure a room.

Mercure Paris Lafayette: 1.0 out of 5 stars "Family Vaction in France"

15th August 2011, Beirut

Room not up to standard. Service very lousy. Breakfast was equally a terrible experience. There were very few employees servicing us. The staff at the reception were very friendly and there was not much they can do to assist

Mercure Paris Lafayette: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Sharps's in Paris"

3rd August 2011, oxted

nice friendly little hotel in charcter part of paris. though quite noisey due to small narrow streets. we were disturbed by dustbins and the occassional drunk singing at night. reception staff friendly. I wasn't expecting to pay for car parking, even with 50% discount. car park is 250m away.

Mercure Paris Lafayette: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Pokey hovel!!"

25th July 2011, JohnJampot, Hitchin, United Kingdom

The room was tiny as soon as I opened the door, I walked into the bed. For the amount I paid I would also expect a double bed! The close parking was not close, it was 2 blocks away. The window I had opened out on what looked like a rubbish dump!

Mercure Paris Lafayette: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Quality does not meet price"

29th June 2011, Antibes

Room with a tiny window facing an internal, dark, filthy and disgusting court. Tiny bathroom, though clean.Room carpet dirty. Room very noisy (no noise isolation, you can hear other rooms noises)

Mercure Paris Lafayette: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Small, Expensive and Noisy"

6th June 2011, jgomezgallego, Madrid

We spend three days on the hotel. We paid 210 € per nigh for a room , i can not say small, worst. Towels were insufficient, every morning the clean staff weake up at 10 screaming in the corredor. the only positive thing is the location.

Mercure Paris Lafayette: 3.0 out of 5 stars "could do better"

11th May 2011, caulnes

The carpet in the room was stained and so did not look clean. There was no mirror in the room - only in the bathroom - but one was installed while we were there. Despite being a "superior room "the room was a strange shape and the space in one corner was unused apart from having a large radiator on the wall. The desk space was taken up by an unnecessarily large TV (it could have been wall mounted or placed in the unused corner) and a refreshment tray which could have been on a shelf. The bathroom was clean but the shower cubicle was very small. The bed was firm and comfortable. Room door locks (magnetic strip type) had to be repeatedly re-programmed. The only small lift was slow and erratic.

Mercure Paris Lafayette: 1.0 out of 5 stars "Bad hotel for life."

11th May 2011, Moscow

The hotel bad, doesn't correspond to the price. The broken shower, ants in a bathroom creep, the small unstable double bed, badly works an electronic fence on a door, on a carpet in a stain room, there is no safe..

Mercure Paris Lafayette: 2.0 out of 5 stars "friendly staff, VERY small and old rooms"

11th February 2011, istanbul

The hotel is located good just by la fayette and opera. Staff were nice and friendly from the first to the last minute. The rooms though, they are really small. And when i say really, i mean it. We stayed in a double room with my brother and it was impossible for us to be standing up in the room together. The bathroom is also very small and if I was overweight, i am quite sure i wouldnt fit. Also the furniture are very old. There is a TV with 21 channels, of which only 1 is english (BBC world news). There is no minibar. I am 190 cm tall, and the beds are 190 cm in length as well so it was hard to feel comfy. There was no problem of noise except of the street noise. The elevator can only take two persons and is very slow.Breakfast was average.Even though we stayed with a special price , the experience was still not worth the money. No where near MERCURE standards worldwide.
