« A 3-Star Hotel That's Worth Its Rating & Price »

Stayed in Ibis Rajawali for 2 nights. It is located in an old city area of Surabaya, which is very nice and nostalgic, as a matter of fact the lobby of the hotel does take place in an old building (from Dutch colonial period). The lobby is spacious enough with the Receptionist being very efficient. One thing I really need to comment, please change the lighting. White neon light with Old Building just doesn't match... However, the rooms are in newer era building which means they are as per Ibis standard (quite spacious for 3-star hotel, modern functional furnishing, great wi-fi coverage, and very comfortable bedding). Well maintained in most aspects, clean bathroom etc. The only complain I had was that the air-con was not cold enough (doesn't mean it was hot though, I just like it colder), and the shower water pressure not strong enough (again, nothing really annoying, I just like it stronger). Breakfast is adequate, good range of options with western, Indonesian, as well as Javanese menu. I would appreciate if they offer real coffee machine instead of the Nescafe instant vending machine (prefer coffee without sugar). The restaurant area takes place in the same old building section as the lobby, so it does has a certain charm, but unfortunately not exploited enough with nothing showing it inside. Overall I would recommend this hotel if you're looking for 3-star hotel in the old city area of Surabaya.

« The Ibis Standard »

Our stay in Ibis Rajawali was a pleasant one. We took up 4 rooms for 4 nights and all had no complain. We got a very good deal because of Accor membership discount and it included breakfast. The breakfast was a decent spread considering the price we paid. The dinner we ate on the last night was quite disappointing after trying so much good food for the past 7 days in Surabaya. The room wifi was ok. The irritating part is having to log in every time you get back hotel or wake up the next morning. Across the road was a local shopping centre that you can get batik cloth, tailor-made shirts and pants. My son got a pair of tailor-made trousers for 200 rupiah. Fit with 1st try and material is good. The hotel provides free shuttle to Tunjungan Plaza at 2pm (advance booking is required). Return at 4pm. I would like to compliment the driver of shuttle. He was very friendly and strike a conversation with us in English. It was a surprise to us as we had not had a driver that does that throughout our stay in Surabaya & Malang and it made our day. He was obliging/flexible in trying to accede to our requests. We spent a lot of time shopping at the huge Tunjungan Plaza. We loved the mall. My family and I will definitely stay with Ibis again!

« A pleasant stay »

Over the course of my travels, I've always been quite a fan of Ibis hotels and its associated chains. Again, I was quite satisfied with what the hotel had to offer. The rooms were quite spacious and mine in particular had a good view over the city of Surabaya. The staff were also quite friendly. Any requests that you had, they were more than willing to help. This spread across room service, laundry, the restaurant and the bar downstairs. Commenting on the quality of the property; the foyer, restaurant and bar were definitely a stand out. The layout seemed above standard for a budget hotel. As for the rooms, the air conditioning could do with some improvement, however; that was the only deficiency noticeable. Some upgrades are perhaps needed there. As for everything else, the WIFI was of a good speed, not too fast but not painstakingly slow and there were more than enough channels to sift through on TV if you just wanted a quiet night in. Commenting on the area surrounding the hotel, it is definitely placed in the centre of everything. In saying that though, most of the sights surrounding Surabaya are quite spread out. So, unless you have your own mode of transport, taxi's will definitely be something you will be spending a lot on. If you're there for a short time, this hotel is definitely a great place to consider as you are right across the road from a budget shopping mall and mini grocery store. Overall, it was quite a pleasant stay and I would consider staying here again if I was to return.

« Comfortable stay »

Check in, Check out was smooth. Room was not new but well cleaned up. The only issue was mosquito in the room. Hotel staff were keen to serve better and I felt comfortable. Massage salon close at 1800hrs. It is little bit ear;;y than I expected, no chance to enjoy it after business hours, before dinner.

« Nice room »

Nice room, newly renovated, now with LCD television. Good breakfast. Transportation is not a problem, many taxi and becak. You can have dinner at 'kya kya' kembang jepun road. They have chinese food and good noodle.

Room is nice and also very clean.The city view is very good. The only thing miss is the breakfast. Need more variation. I already stay 3 times and in 3 times i found the same menu. Need more improvement

« Nice Business Hotel »

Personally....this is the most convenience hotel for me because is near my activities at Tanjung Perak Port. They have nice restaurant, the Steak is very nice. Clean, well maintained & friendly stuff. just give input....Please change the way making Wedang Jahe, the present one well....is not really a good one,we love Drink Wedang Jahe, but please make it like Jamu gendong Style, taste better&warmer.

« Well maintain hotel »

I've stay so many time in Ibis Surabaya Rajawali when I had many job in near Tanjung Perak Port years ago (about year 2004 something), so amaze that the hotel still in a good condition now. Just the fitness center abit tired, need renew the threadmill. Good breakfast, location near Tanjung Perak and 1 mall across the road, and several bank around this hotel. Is a very convenience hotel for business which dealing with port or Navy (Near ARMATIM)

« Incomplete Toiletries »

If you want to stay at Ibis Surabaya Rajawali, I strongly suggest that you bring your own tooth brush and paste, as this hotel doesn't provide you complete toiletries which should have been available just like normal starred hotel.

« Great Hotel with The Best Service and Reasonable Price »

I stayed here for 1 night after the crater trip. When I came in the front desk, receptionist seem really freshly to service me then I got a keycard with pleasure. After that, the nice lady, who I thought that she was be a head of receptionist or above, came to me and asked me about my trip then she gave me a document of tourist attractions in Surabaya city with map and she always kindly asked to provide any services to me, I really impressed her because I have not seen before from others receptionist. Moreover, about the room - is no any bad things, may be one of that is a shower which too old and it spread not good, but it is a little thing. The overall of this hotel is superb and I love Ibis Rajawali Surabaya.

I check in the hotel at 5 pm, reserved2 rooms, first room straight to our room, to 1 room again, wait 2 hours for check in ( 7 PM) even then after I was angry. Poor coordination between the employees, to disaponiting customers.
