This ibis hotel is in a good location. Very near the train station. If you like to walk the Luxemburg garden, Notre dame and Louvre can be reached on foot and also Eiffel Tower. A lot of restaurant along the way. And La fayette is just a few meters away
This hotel pleasantly surprised me. It was located on the same side of the road as the train station and as the air france bus. Which when you are lugging bags is important! The hotel was perfectly situated, quiet , clean had a great open view. You couldn't see the Eiffel Tower but you could see the lights revolving from it. The price was right and I slept well and started out the day with a good breakfast . And considering I was ready to roll by 5 am that was saying something. The only hiccough came when the air france bus which was supposed to leave at 6 was gone by the time I arrived at 545. And no others in sight. I got really lucky and shared a taxi with another stranded flyer. So just allow yourself even more time to make to the airport, but the hotel , for me was great and I would definitely use them again
Over the past 8 years ive stayed in a number of hotels during business trips located throughout North West Europe - however, the Ibis Paris Gare Montparnasse has to be the worst one ive stayed at. Firstly, its so outdated i was expecting to bump into my dead grandfather as i had thought i had time-travelled back into the 1970's with the decor. my shower was totally black, no bathroom window and my key-card snapped. ADVOID!!!!!
The rooms and elavator are small in comparison with other Ibis branded hotels, No direct parking available, Nearby public parking available for approx. € 35 a day, I prefer a cleaner room then I faced but it was doable, The locks on the doors next to each other make such a noise that you might sit straight on your bed, Very nearby to public transfer system. However, you won't get disturbed by the noise, Nice café, bicycle rent system, gas station, shopping mall and streets and huge station nearby.
