"Ideal location for a stop off"
7th August 2012, MicF18, Manchester, United Kingdom
Warmly welcomed by receptionist Beatice, great location if you are travelling from either north or southern France. if you are heading back to Cherbourg/St Malo Nantes is a good distance from Bordeaux (if you are heading north) and St Malo(if heading south) where we had planned to stop over on our tour of west side of France. Restaurant was closed on Saturday night but a fantastic choiced menu for breakfast on Sunday and again receptionist Arnard helped out with service in the restaurant.
"An excellent stopover for a long journey"
27th May 2012, Lynne M, Glastonbury, United Kingdom
I chose this hotel as it was directly en route between where I had been staying with friends in the Dordogne, and Roscoff where I was catching the ferry. It's a bit fiddly to get to on the way up (but trusty satnav got me there with no problem) but wonderfully easy to get back on main road to north to Roscoff. This hotel provides an excellent stopover when you're travelling. The rooms are light and pleasant, nicely designed, with everything you need, including free WiFi. The beds are very comfortable. Plenty of parking space. There was a menu in the room with fairly standard takeaway stuff, and I thought this would be the same food served in the restaurant, but I couldn't have been more wrong. The restaurant had wonderful choices, and I had a first class meal, which was less expensive than other places I have eaten in in France, even though a higher standard. Breakfast was very good too - help yourself buffet with lots of choice. There is a pool, but no-one was using it while I was there. The guy in reception was amazingly helpful in showing no surprise whatsoever when I asked if I could put my cheese in the hotel fridge - he just whisked out a plastic bag and put my room number on, ditto a small water bottle to go in the freezer to act as an ice pack. Bless. It did cost more than a chamber d'hôte, and of course wasn't in such pretty surroundings, but to be honest, I wanted the impersonality of a hotel after 2 weeks having to chat to loads of people. It's 3 hours from Roscoff, and I would definitely stay here again on my way back if I do this journey again.
