We arrived at the Hotel to a warm welcome and to be given a room up grade which was great...taking our bags to the room was very interesting as the hotel has no luggage carts or porters. So we man handle the bags to the room to find it is twin bedded, we had booked a double. A return visit to reception and a new key, which to our surprise is now a disabled room. With all the benefits of a disabled shower and high seat toilet. Breakfast the first morning was an experience, the main issues was lack of choice on the breakfast buffet ....the cooked breakfast came on cold plates and was made up of reheated food just the start you want to the day, the coffee was cold need we go on. There was no dinner service apart from the on site pub, we tried this on our second nightjust as bad a breakfast made even worse by the fact that we had to listen all evening to the female staff member flirt with her boy friend across the bar.Breakfast the next morning was just as bad a first made worse by the fact that the pruneson the buffet seemed to have taken on a life of there own and ants seemed to be enjoying the honey more than the humans. We said to the wait staff this was the worstAccor group property we had ever stayed in and she just laughed, In the end we called the local Environmental Health Department about the buffet and other issues, as the pool looked liked it was very infrequently tended to. Not a great stay but Cable Breach was great.

Clean, good location, food was good, the only slight hiccup was when dialing for room service, the phone gets transferred to a message service that advises you to ring back during normal working hours. I have no problems recommending this hotel to anyone travelling to Broome.

Really disappointed that despite having paid in full up front, when we arrived to be told that our booking hadn't been confirmed, and had to wait whist the staff struggled to find us a room. Then the room we got was less than we expected (having stayed previously), Smaller, and the bathroom shower rose and basin spout were loose and not able to be adjusted. The second day of our stay, we had to make do with sharing a bath towel as cleaners only left one towel to replace our used ones from the day before.I did call reception and ask for an additional towel..... it never arrived.

We only had a couple of days off so the stay at the Mercure Broome was just the thing to unwind. We had dinner in the Restaurant which was lovely, the staff were only too happy to oblige. We enjoyed our stay and would come back again, it is only a short distance to anywhere and would recommend it for a comfortable stay to anyone wanting to visit Broome.

Good location, within walking distance to town centre or for those less able town bus just around corner from hotel.Stayed in both Standard room (no Superior room available on that day despite prepaid booking for Superior room) and Superior room. Disappointed that the hotel did not upgrade us as most hotels would have. Main room reasonable but bathroom/shower needs improvement. Shower fittings outdated and with very little expense could be updated almost instantaneously. Suggested improvements would include:1) Larger more modern television screen2) DVD/CD facilities3) Shower screens (curtains only), updating shower fixtures4) A safety box in every room (not every room we stayed had them)The dining area was more than reasonable from quality of the food, staff to pricing.Reception staff although courteous could be a little friendlier.

The service has much improved since my last stay about nine years ago, and is now better than most Kimberley Hotels I have stayed at. My room was a bit "old" - the bath, for example, had stains that could not be removed but not a problem really. Kebabs at Murphy's Bar were a bit of a giggle: a single lamb shank with a satay skewer up the middle. Every other time I have had kebabs, from Kings Cross to Hastings East Sussex, it consists of several small pieces of meat, not just one long one. The Irish long kebab? Also like most places in the region, checkout is at 10am. If you have a plane to catch at four and need to stay in your room and work, it will cost you $20 per hour after 11:00am. Something to consider when booking flights.Anyhow I very much appreciated the attentive staff and the old Conti is back on my list of places to stay when I am in the Kimberley.

"Staff not up to scratch"

What could have been a really enjoyable stay was spoiled by the filthy state of the laundry and by the unusual times at which the rooms were tidied. The cleanliness of the room after servicing left something to be desired as well. There were no plugs in the bathroom, even after asking for them. The bath gel was not replaced daily either.The reception staff was very good, however, and the meals in the Irish pub were quite OK.
