Mercure Broome: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great time in Broome at the Mercure"

20th April 2012

The hotel proved to be a great base for exploring Broome. Broome is quite spread out so a car is needed no matter which hotel is chosen. The environment at the hotel is relaxing with two very good pools to choose from. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. There are good dining options at the hotel and close by.

Mercure Broome: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Shower recess cleaniness"

26th March 2012, Perth, Australia

The room overall was clean but I was disappointed with the condition of the shower recess. The shower screen had soap scum and the shower floor tiles had mould.

Mercure Broome: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Quiet Season return"

25th January 2012, Expectans_expectavi, Perth

I appreciated being given an upgraded room on arrival. Platinum A|Club Advantage Plus may have helped - not a stated benefit, though. Fellow reviewers please note! Very nice reception staff.Main restaurant closed except for breakfast. This was included in my rate with machine pancakes and flaky hash browns being a highlight.Room attractive with very comfy bed and pillows. Only minor comment - a few tiny wall scuff marks. This is trivial compared with the delightful time I enjoyed and definitely unworthy of a major comment.Matsos Brewery Restaurant is over the road and has mango and ginger beers and a trial ginger cider plus, plus.... Eat here in period ambience.Airport Shuttle ($6) is best to prebook as taxi availability varies.

Mercure Broome: 3.0 out of 5 stars "T&F"

Problems with so many mineworkers staying there, large groups of men are not usually compatable with couples or families. The ceiling fan was very dusty and dirtyThe showerhead required fixingThe outdoor table and chairs ingrained stained dirty

Mercure Broome: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Grubby, dusty rooms"

25th September 2011, Perth_WALove2Travel, Perth, WA

We booked into this hotel for our last night in Broome. We were leaving early the next day, so only really wanted somewhere to crash. I had not great expectations apart from a basic clean room which the mecure group have always delivered on. However, the room just felt unclean. On a superficial level it looked ok, but there was dust on skirtings, edge of carpet, stains on carpet, curtain and net curtains looked like they needed a good wash. I asked to be upgraded and had a look at another room, which was $50 more expensive in the new block. Bedroom was nicer but the shower area had extensive black mould on the tiles/grout. In brief, the hotel was tired and just needed a good thorough clean. Disappointing. Location was good just a couple of minutes walk from Roebuck Bay and Matsos Brewery, so not all was lost :-)

Mercure Broome: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Lack of information on arrival"

10th September 2011, Canberra, Australia

On 26/08/11 arrived at hotel at night, was not told that the reception opened at 07:00 and what to do with the key when we caught our tour at 06:20 next morning. Also if I had been informed of the opening time I could have paid for the accommodation in cash the night before and avoided the credit charge. Therefore not impressed with the service.

Mercure Broome: 4.0 out of 5 stars "BROOME"

8th September 2011, Melbourne, Australia

Rooms were ok. restaurant: we waited an hour, other people who came in after us were served, so we walked out and went into Broome township to get a meal. We had arrived at the restaurant early to we could get in and out quick as we had been up since 5am. We did not eat in the restaurant after this episode. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THE RESTAURANT.
