"Overnight stay"

A very nice hotel, clean and good service. However, the rooms were exceedingly warm and too noisy with windows opened. Moreover, the shuttle to the airport doesn't start until mid morning, well past many flight times and the 5-minute taxi ride cost a ridiculous 25 euros ($37). Perhaps the hotel should start the shuttle at a convenient (for travelers) time or subsidize a taxi ride.

This hotel seems to cater to large tour groups from places like China. People who are so far away from home, and don't speak the language, that they can't seek recourse to any problems they encounter.Rooms: The worst Novotel rooms we've ever stayed in. Looks nothing like other Novotels around the world. Closest thing the rooms and bathrooms resemble are a hospital ward. They have NO renovated or better rooms, and only have one type of outdated, tacky rooms. Our bathroom had large brown stains on the side of the bathtub which hotel staff touched and said "don't worry it's not crap, it's just glue". The hotel website claims to have internet in the rooms but most of the time it didn't work and we had to use it in the lobby.Location: 20 minute drive from Florence, in a seedy industrial area that turns into a red-light district at night. Don't even think of staying here if you don't have your own car. We had a car, but even then it's a 20 minute drive from town.Service: There is a Do Not Disturb sign you can put on the door, but really it's useless. Every day the cleaners knocked on our door asking to clean, even though we had the DnD sign up. The staff at reception are mixed, some genuinely try to help when there are issues, but the majority just say "that's how it is".Overall there are many better places to stay in Florence. We only stayed here as we are Aclub Gold members and were expecting it to be on par with other Novotels we have stayed in around the world. We would not stay here again when back in Florence.

Excellent service at check in and check out. The staff was helpful in arranging taxis, advising regarding local bus service and allowing storage of luggage. Taxis to the airport are expensive inspite of the hotel's proximity. There is excellent bus service to downtown during the day, less so in the evenings. The rooms are spacious and bright with air conditioning. Computers are available in the lobby.

Not much negative to say, except the location, the hotel being situated in a commercial/industrial area (car absolutely mandatory) where there's not much to eat around by walking distance. Also due to the situation, walking at night would not be that confortable. The plus, is that they offer free shuttle to downtown Firenze at certain hours. Another negative issue, is the swimming pool, nice looking as usual, but unfortunately located behind the building, which causes that on mornings, before 11:30, there's not much sun (in Summer) and obviously it's pretty cold. According to the life guard on duty, the sun is definitively there by noon, for the whole afternoon. But if like we do, enjoy a morning swim, be prepared for a cold one.

I was wery easy to find and we got a warm wellcome and was informed there was a shuttlebus from the hotel to the station in Firenze. Remember to book a time on limited seats are avilble. Booking the day before was good enough for us. The shuttlebus is a needed service, the hotel is located 13 km from city center and the public transportation is not easy to find.There are payed parking inside, but free parking outside, and there is enough.There is not much else to do eat or see in the area from the hotel.

we made the reservation, 150 euro a night, we thought we can save on taking the shuttle to florence. checked in at 8:15 pm, and found that most of the slots )only 16 ( 6 times a day) are fully booked, the hotel was packed with groups, and the shuttles as well as the restaurant was so full, we waited for 15 minutes to get a table ( no other restaurants close ) by), then sat 15 more minutes, no service. the staff was really nice, but not staffed based on occupancy. breakfast was a different story, this is by no mean a 4 star, 2 stars and 50 euro are more than what it is worthfor the last few weeks I havin been staying at accor hotels, the night before in Siena and trabzon a week before that, but thanks to this stay I will think twice before doing so again.

Quality of the room was good, but the bathroom wasn't as good as at Manchester, UK where I visited last month. The main problem was the hotel, especially breakfast at the cafe was very confusing. There were too less staffs and seemed unmanaged and not well organized. It looked like a market rather than restaurant in the four star hotel.

"transport to hotel"

The hotel website mentions a free shuttle bus to the airport 1 kilometre away. In fact the shuttle bus also operates to the central station which is excellent value. We wasted money on a taxi from the station to the hotel only to be informed of the free shuttle! It operates about every hour. The breakfast which was part of our deal was also excellent value at I think 1 euro.
