Mercure Chiang Mai: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Mercure Chiang Mai"

3rd March 2013, Walterjandrew, Hanoi, Vietnam

We stayed for four nights. Room was in very good condition, marble tile floor, up to standard of Mercure. Located next to a large Tops grocery with great selection of breads, cheese, beer etc. catering to expat crowd. About a 10-15 minute walk to walled old city. There is a bus station 5 minutes away - you can ride the small red vans for 20 baht, shared ride. Sometimes you pay more if you are going alone. There was a few odors in the bathroom drain in the morning, but it went away after running water. Good value if you get a good deal.

Mercure Chiang Mai: 3.0 out of 5 stars "ok but a bit aside"

1st March 2013, Roland-Samui, Koh Samui, Thailand

A very welcoming reception staff with very good english skills. The rooms are nice and clean with enough of space. Same the bathroom. The hotel is a bit away of the shopping and restaurant area of C.M. and Tuk Tuk's or taxis are just available at the street next to the hotel. They do not pass by at the hotel entrance, so take a short walk to the street. The prices at the hotel restaurant are to high.

Mercure Chiang Mai: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Very nice hotel"

22nd February 2013, aySydney_Australia, Sydney, Australia

When I go to Chiang Mai, I always stat at this hotel. It is 10minutes away from town centre, but you can get transport easily and does not cost much. The rooms are very spacious, clean, usually quiet. Rooms are always kept clean, although carpet needs the update in standard room, deluxe room floor is renovated to tile, so feels much cleaner. Staff are nice and friendly. Very good value for the price you pay.

Mercure Chiang Mai: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Dissapointment"

6th February 2013, Brisbane

The hotel was disappointing for the advertised 4star rating, more like 2.5. We had booked and requested an early check in but had to wait one hour despite confirmation. The room was large enough but very sterile, no hotel directory for their services (numbers to ring, facilities etc.). Contacted reception told "just ring us if you want something”, laundry bag was delivered etc. but no new one left so had to ask every day. Towels were very grey and well used, would be ok for three stars or less. Breakfast facilities were disappointing, the bacon was behind the counter we did not find bacon until we saw a piece on someone plate. It was not kept warm/hot. Not a good western cooked breakfast, coffee would run out, no salt and pepper on tables had to search for this every day. Location was a real pain, would have been ok if there were taxi's readily available but when we asked for one we were constantly told to go up to the corner and get a ride...Tuk tuks not easy with arthritis. As the hotel was located some distance from Night Markets etc., this was a real issue. Felt the location was too far from the night activities if taxi service not readily available. We booked through the Accor Club and rely on their rating but was well short of 4star. We have stayed in older hotels before and they were great this one really needs work; you could not lock the door in the lobby toilets. If it were rated appropriately, we would not have chosen this hotel. First trip to Chiang Mai so not familiar with costs and location went purely by club rating.

Mercure Chiang Mai: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Good service with reasonable price"

31st January 2013, Chatchai_PROMTHONG, Bangkok, Thailand

All staffs provided nice and friendly service. The rate of accommodation and transfer were so reasonable, but in-room facilities were a bit old, and needed to renovate. In the whole picture, I like this hotel indeed.

Mercure Chiang Mai: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Chiang Mai"

18th January 2013, RogerLK, Brisbane, Australia

Good location outside the old city just far away from the noise. Great to rent a motorbike just outside the hotel. Supermarket 50m away. Great to buy things to snack on in your room. Staff friendly and helpful. They really make the place a good place to stay.

Mercure Chiang Mai: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Another nice hotel"

17th January 2013, Laura628, Bangkok, Thailand

Jus only 15 mins from Airport and easy transportation. I really appreciated Mercure Chaingmai staffs' service. From the front gate to check in counter also Restaurant staff. They are all well-trained with a real Thai hospitality. i booked standard room.So I didnt expect that much.Nice and clean But jus only 1 Thing about noisy from another both room beside me.I have to woke up very early that day with children crying and TV noise from next door.I didnt not complaint anything with hotel cuz i knew that they cant do anything. Breakfast was OK. that would be good if we can have breakfast outdoor.Overall,i enjoyed my stayed and will go back agian.

Mercure Chiang Mai: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good stay"

3rd January 2013, Sydney

The hotel is out of the main centre a little bit. This meant a taxi in to town but it also meant the hotel was fairly quiet so sleep was good.Rooms were OK, not fabulous.Service was good.Food was reasonable.Nice relaxing pool and bar area.

Mercure Chiang Mai: 4.0 out of 5 stars "I like it"

30th December 2012, Lisapoon, Hong Kong, China

Pithy good. All my friends and i like to stay. There are supermarket and bus stop to the northern Thailand nearby. Continence for shopping and travel in the city. Easy to get to know the daily life of the Thai people too. Value to choose this hotel.

Mercure Chiang Mai: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Comfort and convenient in the heart of Chiangmai"

30th December 2012, eudda, bangkok

Not very new hotel but always good maintenance and located in the heart of Chiangmai. Value of money with good service. Suitable for both business and family trip. Price is very affordable and most of their staff is friendly.

Mercure Chiang Mai: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Good service but room is too old"

26th December 2012, dorgchant, Chon Buri

This hotel is going to be renovated. Deluxe rooms and swimming pool are completed. I booked the standard room which is still furnished with old furniture and facilities. Staffs are friendly. There are supermarket, traditional food restaurant and local markets in hotel's area.

Mercure Chiang Mai: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Nice hotel"

Mercure Chiang Mai: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Decent hotel at good price"

8th December 2012, Lars F

We stayed at this hotel about a year ago and was happy with it. So we decided to book three rooms this year as it was very cheap. We were checked in to smoking rooms on the third floor (None of us smokes). These rooms are horrible. The carpet looks dirty and old. We requested to be moved to non-smoking rooms and were moved the following day. The rooms one the 4th floor are alright.Restaurant Citrus is not worth eating at. The breakfast is plain and boring. The staff not very attentive and does not fill up things fast enough. We had a lunch at the restaurant. I had a Club Sandwich which was okay. But the Thai food was so bad that we sent it back. They made new soups but they were the same just a bit more spicy. The Swimming pool at the hotel is nice and newly renovated. Great place to relax.
