"Train Noise, Internet Access, Breakfast Price"

It was my 2nd stay at Novotel Surabaya, but this time my sleep was bothered by the noise of the nearby train route that had trains operating all night. My room 331 was getting all the rattle and tunes. Another disappointment was the Internet access not for free and only available in the lobby. For a business traveller this is a point to consider, unless you have your own access with you. Comfort and location were satisfying for our purpose and the breakfast is always a treat at Novotel, with a great choice and good service, though the optional breakfast charges calculated in my online booking as AdvantagePlus member were higher than the walk-in charges using my member discount.

This is refereed to my check in with your hotel on 8 May 2012, booking Reservation number G2W-0BI8. I have stay at room 7251 from 8-12 May 12I would like to express my disappointment with the unpleasant check in.I arrived at your hotel at around 11.30am from the airport. I was attended by Mr Achmad FADILLAH, the front desk official. During the check in process, the first thing Mr FADILLAH told me that my room could only check in at 2pm. He expressed that this was the hotel rules and asked me to come back at 2pm.I was a bit upset because most of the Novotel I stay would not have a problem for me to check in early. Nevertheless, I was not feeling well that day as my stomach was suffering from minor food poison, which I guess I suffered from my Surabaya trip before I came to Jakarta.I explain the situation to Mr FADILLAH that I am not feeling well and my stomach was very painful. I kindly ask him for assistance to see whether is there any possible for me to check in earlier of do some special arrangement., or even arrange someplace for me to rest first. To my surprise and astonish, Mr FADILLAH simply rejected my request and asked me to return at 2pm. But on the other side, I saw guess came in later then me and took their keys and I wonder why. Am I not the same guess level as that guy? Could he at least make an effort to assist me in anyway?

Room is very nice and cozy, need to pay more attention to the carpet, we found lots of smoke mark on the carpet around the floor.Seems that the breakfast is very under-staff. Requesting a coffee and cutlery took over 10 minutes to complete. Table is not properly cleaned.

Thanks to Novotel as I got free upgrade room when I check -in. The staff also very polite and helpful. However chargeable wifi is not a trend nowadays. Many hotels give free wifi. We need free wifi so my children can play their ipad/tab in the room. Also would be great to have cracker (krupuk) in the breakfast. Banana fruit also good to be served at the breakfast.

Novotel Hotel, Surabaya.I think Novotel Hotel Surabaya is one of green hotel in Surabaya, very comfortable and they have a small park with trees, laid out nicely with the pool so we could feel like out of town

This is my fifth staying at Novotel Surabaya, the reason is because its close enough to Siloam Hospital within minutes by taxi. This time they up grade my room to the premier room which is so nice and good...I love the room and no doubt will stay here again anytime I come to Surabaya. For the food, all good and yummy, falling in love with with Ayam Goreng Ungkep ;-) Keep the good work...

the aircon was not cool, we could hear the sounds from outside and the room above, the closet smell so bad, and the door lock was broken. and above all that, the staff behaved badly and not giving any compensation.

The first day and night we got the three bedrooms apartment but the rooms was a little bit dirty especially in the bathroom. The towels seems not clean and too old by the color of yellowish. And in the middle of sleep around 03:00 am we have been disrupted from the sleep by the noise coming from renovations. And for the unpleasant experience the Novotel Surabaya didn't give us any compensations. In other four star hotel especially with international brands and chain the hotel usually give the guest compensation if facing some or several problem when staying at the hotel.

i was very dissapointed with the hotel condition (my room 207). First, nothing from the reservation website telling me that the hotel is under renovation. Second The bathtub leaked very bad. The service is acceptable but the hotel really needs heavy repair,

The CS standards was a hit or miss but for the better experience, some of the staff were fantastic. The breakfast was as good as I thought it would be and wish they had a better spread. I managed to get one of the renovated room and was quite impressed. However, the floor felt sticky (as it was all titled) when I first checked into the room. Either it was not cleaned properly or the solution that they use. The pool was really nice and the whole place felt like a out of town resort.

I have to say, Novotel is my favorite name among accor hotels. It's well known for its landscape, the service, the rooms and good food :-) BUT, please, mind the prayer call that can be heard from our rooms early in the morning ... It's so annoying...My friends and I always wake up at around 3.00 o'clok in the morning because of the prayer call, and we can't hardly back to sleep again. This is very uncomfortable.Please, be understood : I didn't mean to critize any religion. I respect them. But, if possible, please negosiate with the mosque to lowered the sound. Or, perhaps Novotel can re-construct the room, so the voice outside can't be heard.This is my suggestion. If Novotel can differenciate the smoking and non-smoking room; perhaps Novotel can provide 'noise-proof" to those who need tranquilty.Thank you.
"Poor air conditioning"

The room which havent been renovated was very old and the air con was warm.I had decided to change into new renovated room with additonal paid, and found the air con was too arm too. Caused my quality of sleep was very bad and sweating. Eventhough I choose the coldest temperature from the thermostat. The rest such as service, and hospitality is good.

Dear<Accor Managementi wuold like to share that your bath up have been not clean and old version<cause the water always came out to the floor eventhough we already cover very neadly with the curtains....and is so dangerous to use for children because of the wet floor causing from the water from the bath up..please give the attention for that situation.thanks & regardsLing Ling

If you would like to combine business and relax , stay at this hotel .... resort hotel at the city , probably the only one at surabaya. Food are good , especially the "oxtail soup" thumbs up ! staff are friendly with gebuine smiles. Check in and out are efficent.Love the newly renovated rooms
