« Worst Experience Ever »

A cheap 2 star property is what I can say is this hotel, rooms were so dirty that there hairs on the basin counter, bathroom was extremely dirty, room has no proper lights, switches broken, chairs horrible, stench in the room, main door lock broken, in short the worst place I have ever stayed

« Bad service, or better no service, and dirty »

As a very frequent traveller (more than 100 nights a year in accor group) and a platinum member, I am mostly satisfied with services in Accor hotels, and especially Mercure, as they are always a bit different from the other hotels. This however was a huge dissapointment, only nice thing about it is the view and location on the pyramids. The hotel is a bit older and quite worn out, but htis does not have to be a problem as long as it is clean. the room and bathroom were dirty and, even the coffee tray and saloontable where dirty and full of stains. Service unexistant, no drinking water in the room and when called for it they told me I had to pay or wait until 8.00am in the morning. I would not drink any tap water in Cairo. Sorry. Servie at the desk, in the bar, were awfull, only breakfast was reasonable and people friendly.

« Forget European standards. They do not apply here. »

This hotel is an insult to the Mercure-brand. The overall cleanliness is far below what may be considered 'normal'. Staff is friendly but under-educated. Stay out of the breakfast area if groups are having their breakfast? The buffet-area simply does not accommodate groups. And check your bill if you check out. Prices on the bill will be higher than what you signed for at the bar or restaurant (despite 'our prices include service and taxes')!

« Dissappointing »

Very Bad service 1- Front office Staff were so unprofessional and rude 2- Facilities in rooms were bad and not well maintained 3- Check in and check out is too slow 4- Food and beverage was good 5- SPA was very good

« Bad service and people are aggressive »

They are very bad in service and dealing with guests, I asked for water for tea and coffee they give me only one small water and refused even to give one more. they claimed this is the procedure with every hotel although I used to be silver member and know this is wrong

Timing: 2nd & 3rd days of Eid El Adha Stay number: 3 or 4. Location: - It is very well located very close to the pyramids area. Also, very accessible by public transportations and taxis. - Surprisingly spacious than it appears from the outside. Accommodation: - Overall good experience. - Hard working housekeeping. - Excellent front desk manager (Mr Raafat if I can recall that correctly) who did not save any effort in solving my issue with the assigned room, which had a malfunctioning fridge, TV and a broken cot, which was my last extra ordered add-on! - Highly recommended place! - Not recommended during peak periods. My experience with the room, and witnessing 3 frustrating complaining guests in my only 2 nights stay supports this advice. Food & room service: - Excellent food at the Romeo and Julient restaurant (on the left following the reception), although it seems deserted at first. It was a very nice, and quiet place; moreover, it offered very tasty, and well presented plates. - Some attention is required for availing at least a single waiter for that restaurant. In particular, we were served by the snacks bar attendant. - Although being a platinum member, I did not find any pre-arrangements for my stay. No fruit basket, or any welcoming note, or even extra water bottles in the room. Entertainment: - Well designed swimming pool with a smartly located separator between shallow and deeper areas. Staff by the pool were very friendly, and nice. Special thanks!

« Very good for current price »

The price reflects not just the severe tourism downturn but the hotel does need a good refurbishment. It took 3 room changes to get a aircon working properly but once sorted, all was well. The breakfast area needs better management as often dirty tables just left with nowhere clean to sit. However overall as stated, very good for the price.

« Worst night ever »

my experience started at the reception where it took a very long time to check in as the staff would serve people speaking in their language first even though I was waiting in the queue, once we checked in I was given the room key and shown the way to my room, at this point I requested an iron to be sent to the room and was told I`ll get one shortly, so we got to the room and it looked good, we were tired from our flight and it was getting late at night and had an early start the next day so we thought we`ll get everything ready , we booked a family suite which has a pull out bed for extra guest , so we tried pulling this bed out but we couldn't , so I went down to the reception to ask them to send someone to come and sort it out , after four trips to the reception and an hour later I finally got someone to come who couldn't manage to do it and ended up breaking it , so I went back down to the reception to explain what has happened and was told they'll sort it out straight away , after numerous visits and approximately 2 hours later I got someone to come and put another bed in room , and still no iron , as you can see after very long day this is the last thing you need , the service in this hotel was rubbish.

the hotel is close to pyramid, but very old fashion and out of date. the bathroom is full of water after shower, I call the service line to send somebody to help, but nobody come, they just ignore my request!!!
