The staff are staff and service was great. The motel rooms are clean and comfortable. Being a person who suffers from allergies, I have found this motel excellent. I would recommend the Mecure Harbourside, and will be staying there on my next visit to Cairns.

Beds were very uncomfortable, therefor didn't get much sleep. Very disappointed. Need to look at replacing there king size beds

Reception staff were very friendly, we had an issue with our accor card as its in my husbands name is on the card but as I was with my friends he was not with me so they had to call him to confirm that we could use the card and the booking was okay, this was frustrating and we wqill be following this up to have both our names on the card as it was embarresing at time of check in.

Paid extra for a suite with ocean views selected from the website & got a suite but no ocean view. The sheets looked slept in we had to call to get them chaged. The shower had a glass shelf at shoulder height up the shower end of a bathtub so it was too narrrow to shower without rubbing against the cold/wet shower curtain or the glass shelf. No bottled water in room/mini-bar.Carpark is too small. Free bus to the city is good but should run until midnight.

Hotel was great, room was spacious, excellent view from the balcony. Room service is the best I have had in a long time.Breakfast could be a little better :-/

I Love staying at the Mercure - the beds are comfortable, the staff are friendly and courteous, and if you enjoy a quieter location away from the noise and hustle of the inner city Cairns, this hotel is perfect! The only suggestion I would give them is to perhaps clean the bathroom vent - it's full of dust! And it was the same a year ago! Other than that, 5 stars for cleanliness and comfort.

Friendly, attentive service from Courtney at check-in was a good start to my one night stay. Hotel is a little bit out from the city centre but they have shuttle bus that runs every hour so its not too much of a bother (airport end of town so I suggest getting a taxi rather than taking the Sun Palms mini bus service - taxi on the way back was only $17 for about a 15min ride, whereas the shuttle bus on the way in was $12 for a 30min ride - your go to the outlying hotels first - and a 30 min wait...).The room was really good value (got a special deal as it wasnt top season) - large and on the top floor with a lovely view out, but you may notice its older feeling areas.All in all if you're looking for a peaceful hotel I would recommend this Mercure.

The hotel was very nice and the breakfast was also excellent. Lots of variety and lots of different kinds of fruit. The hotel is directly across from beach and there is a nice running/walking trail there that goes into downtown - 15-20 minute walk. The only surprise for me was that people don't swim in the ocean water near the hotel. There is a big sign as you approach the boardwalk warning of crocks. Along the water is a wonderful public swimming pool that overlooks the ocean. if you want to swim in the Ocean everyone goes to the barrier reef not too far away by boat.

The Mecure is about a 20 minute walk from downtown. It has an hourly shuttle to the city centre.The restaurant was good I really enjoyed the meals. The staff were very helpful.

"Worst hotel i have ever stayed in"

Firstly the fridge was empty : i was expecting some beers/wine.Secondly, i tried continental breakfast in the hotel and once again i was disappointed as sausages and hash brown were served cold.This is the first and the last time i stayed in Mercure.

"Our favourite part of Cairns!!"

In fairness to Cairns we were unlucky with the weather (tropical rain all week) but after the Reef visit we decided to cut our losses and re-jig the flights to beat a hasty retreat. The hotel manager (Ben I think) could not possibly have been more helpful and accommodating in enabling us to make the best of the remainder of our shortened (and pre-booked) stay and enjoy the best part of Cairns...his hotel. Top marks to Ben and all the staff at this great hotel.The shuttle into and out of Cairns centre was hugely useful and a perk we didn't note when booking.

"Nice room, great staff, poor food."

The hotel staff were lovely & always friendly. The room was pretty good too apart from the balcony which was small, very enclosed & lacked a table. When sitting down you could just about peer over the solid metal front. I would also recommend that you don't eat in the hotel restaurant in the evening however convenient it may seem. The steak & array of accompanying sauces were beyond disappointing & combined with the clinical environment & strange choice of dance music echoing around the room the experience was far from fun. Apart from that, a nice hotel with great staff.

"Recommended hotel"

Friendly professional staff and comfortable room. Amazing views. I would have liked to have seen a fan or some sort of exhaust in the bathroom as it tended to quickly become steamy. Still waiting for my receipt for my stay though.

"Business trip with leisure"

We did not received a wake up call which was registered the night before. However, we received the second wake up call request.Overall, this is a very good hotel, the shuttle bus is a big help when you don't have a car. Good size room. The room, the bathroom and the swimming pool is clean. Receiptionists provide excellent assistance with all our enquiries.

"Mercure Harbourside"

This is a nice place to stay with wonderful water views across the Cairns foreshore. Like all Mercures it is very comfortable, well managed and excellent value for money. The beds were great - very comfortable king size and plenty of room in the accomodation.

This is a Accor hotel and made cheap with advantage plus card. If you travel alot this is good value! as meals are 50% off for two people. and you get one free night a year.Internet 30 minutes free otherwise it is a bit dear. Good views if you have ocean view.Location not bad, a little bit far from casino, but right on beachfront.

The service at the hotel was first-class - the staff were helpful and polite. Our room was spacious and, although our view was not on to The Esplanade, it was still quite nice - we were able to see the black clouds over the mountains! The bed was extremely comfortable and room cleanliness excellent. The only downside was the location insofar as it was quite a long way in to Cairns centre. There is a free shuttle bus service provided on the hour throughout the day and we did find the walk along The Esplanade into town quite pleasant along the shore. Only criticism - no free wifi even though it was a hotspot but this seems common in Australia generally

The staff are very friendly and helpful; the location is great especially if you are hiring a car from the airport, it is close to the action but far enough away to be quiet; there is some airport noise but it does not interrupt your sleep; the food was very nice, the room was excellent, what a view!

Well worth staying at , we were up graded to a fabulous room and it was more than comfortable, the staff were also very accomadating, were prefer a room on a little higher level in the future, but that is just a personal thing the room was great.

I didn't ask for a discount room with mold on the bathroom walls, towels you could see through.. You must reserve room 523 for people who don't stay at Mercure hotels for the quality ... Very poor area of the hotel ... Friday night I stayed in room 311, much nicer.
