Mercure Townsville: 3.0 out of 5 stars "townsville"

the room was very good the food the night we ate there was dreadful and we had invited family which made it even worse

Mercure Townsville: 1.0 out of 5 stars "Unhqappy with The Mecure Inn - Townsville"

14th May 2012, nothappy2012, Airlie Beach, Australia

I didn't stay on these dates because I had been hospitalised, I had contacted the Mecure and asked if I could cancel the two rooms that had been booked on the Friday afternoon. I explained that I had booked the rooms on the Thursday afternoon and that I had to be hospitalised and that we would not be coming to Townsville.I was still charged for the two roomss at $399.00 each and was told that the Mecure was still holding my reservation until 2pm the Saturday afternoon. I explained that I had contacted the Mecure and the lady knew who I was because I had spoken to her when I cancelled the reservation. So I was charged just under $800.00 for not even leaving our home town and not even goin any where near Townsville for the 2 rooms that we didn't even use. I was told that this was a policy and that there was nothing that they could do about this, I had even discussed this with the Manager that was on shift. So I wouldn't know what the rooms or anything was like simply because we had not stayed at the Mercure at all, but I definately had to pay for this stay even though we didn't. The staff tried to handle the situation but were not accomodating in the sense that they didn't care about the charges that I had to pay even though not staying at the Mecure Inn - Townsville

Mercure Townsville: 5.0 out of 5 stars "great upgrade"

we got to the resort and were upgraded to the KING bed - best size ever when we were sharing with our 3 yr old!

Mercure Townsville: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Thank You"

4th May 2012, kylierenton, Mackay, Australia

We had a great stay however found the only thing disappointing is that my partner and I booked online and months ahead of time, and received a queen bed which was nice however a friend of mine booked her room the week of staying and received a king bed for just herself. A small issue but sometimes the small things is all it takes. Other then that our stay was very relaxing and the wedding we attended was very well organised and run by your staff. Congratulations to your wedding staff. We will be returning

Mercure Townsville: 4.0 out of 5 stars "This hotel is more than the rooms, it is overall a pleasant place"

23rd April 2012, SCH_Phantom, Melbourne, Australia

Second time I have stayed here for business, best thing I can say is that I would also choose to stay here on personal travel. The rooms are probably getting close to time for a freshen up but they are still fine and the overall hotel grounds and service outweigh that small item. Happy to stay again.

Mercure Townsville: 1.0 out of 5 stars "Revolting experience"

21st April 2012, mikeyaus, Sydney

Booked a Family Suite. Universally a suite is defined as a separate bedroom to the living and dining area. The photos of the room type look like the bedroom, but it is, in fact, just one large studio. As soon as we entered the room we noticed ants in the sink, the cupboards and there were countless mosquitos. The room was simply inhospitable. We called the front desk and the Assistant Manager witnessed the insects, and offered us a downgrade when we asked for a different room. In the end we left the property within 10 mins of arriving.

Excellent hotel for family's, great pool and very clean modem rooms, great location to explorer Townsville. We had a 40th Birthday and stayed at this resort with a large group of family and friends and the staff were very accommodating.

Mercure Townsville: 4.0 out of 5 stars "widlife"

22nd March 2012, Merimbula, Australia

hotel room was fine for what we wanted clean close to shops etc, but do not stay here if you are not into wildlife as we were kept awake all night with gecko's,or small lizards chasing insects, using the walls , ceilings. beds, us, as a race track now have a tramuatised wife who may well never get over this experience But we will come prepared next visit with a suit case full of surface spray .(it would be a laugh to see staff trying to catch these little things as they move like greased lightning) or maybe the mecure hotel should supply spray . regards one nervous guest one hilarous guest

Mercure Townsville: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Rooms are not great!"

18th March 2012, Brisbane, Australia

I stayed here for one night on business and was very unhappy with the room. The room was dirty and on arrival I found it to be full of flies & bugs. I had to go & buy a can of bug-spray to kill hundreds of them. There was also a large gap between the front door & the floor which was obviously allowing the bugs to get in. There were webs & spiders hanging from the ceiling. A colleague of mine had to change rooms because of something "moving around" in the ceiling space! The fittings & furnishings all look "tired".However , on a positive note, the service was good and we had an excellent meal in the restaurant with friendly, attentive restaurant staff. They just need to sort out the rooms here!!!

Mercure Townsville: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Mercure Inn Townsville"

6th February 2012, Melbourne, Australia

Great hotel/resort for relaxing, staff were very freindly and helpfull, food was mostly good, rooms were clean and fresh. The only negative I had of this hotel was that although it was only 3km out of town the only way to get into town was via a taxi.If there had been a courtesy bus running from this hotel on an hourly basis during the daytime it would have completed the experience.

Mercure Townsville: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Moving rooms"

5th February 2012

We had trouble viewing the tv and were moved to a nicer room. The staff were very nice about it all and very apologetic about the inconvenience it caused to us. We have stayed here a few times when in Townsville and I like the service and friendliness we get from the staff.

Mercure Townsville: 3.0 out of 5 stars "great room, terrible food"

3rd February 2012, juzzywuzzy, bli bli, qld

stayed here for one night in january, the room was nice, although it had a terrible musty smell to it. We ordered room service for our breakfast and it was the worst breakfast i have ever had. It was served on paper plates which i found awful for a 4 star establishment, and the quality of the food made it inedible. definately would not stay here again.

Mercure Townsville: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Townsville's Top Spot - The Mecure!"

21st January 2012, perth

Excellence is the only word to describe the experience we had with every aspect of our stay at the Mecure in Townsville. The Chef, Michaels attention to detail in the taste and presentation of the buffet breakfast, the evening al a carte meal, in fact all the food was exceptional. Being a vegetarian was no barrier to the delicious variety of dishes prepared on request. ALL the staff are always friendly, available and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are comfortable and beautifully serviced. The refreshing swimming pool has areas for all ages and is meticulously maintained. If you are planning a trip to Townsville, don't look anywhere else, stay at the Mecure!

Mercure Townsville: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Very good service"

The Mecure Hotel was a very good service and the location of the hotel was very good because the places where we were going was a fair distance from the hotel. My children loved the pool because it was warm and a comfortable temperature. Overall, we loved it a lot
