Mercure Brisbane: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great Location"

17th May 2012, awezner

The Mercure Brisbane was very clean. It was in a great location for us - we were able to walk to the wedding ceremony in the Roma Street Parklands and then in the evening walked across the footbridge to the reception at the Library. The next morning we walked over to Southbank for breakfast. It was a very short stay for us and we didn't use any of the hotels services/facilities so can't really comment on those. All-in-all it served its purpose and the only complaint would be that the bathroom lighting is not great an ventilation non-existent, but if you leave the door open while you shower there is no problem.

Although the hotel is in a perfect position it is in need of a good clean up and some maintence of rooms.

Mercure Brisbane: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Great Service"

Mercure Brisbane: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent location for Queen street, QPAC and Convention centre."

8th May 2012, SKImember, Australia

Fundamentally very goo hotel. Just shown a bit of age in the bathrooms now. Be aware that if you have a high 4WD vehicle you cannot park on site but 5 minutes away at Tank street.

Mercure Brisbane: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Brisbane April 2012"

4th May 2012, Melbourne

An excellent place to stay whilst in Brisbane. Conveniently located near the Queen St Mall and Casino, with an excellent view across the river to the Southbank precinct. Service at check-in was first class, our special requests (not near the lifts) were accomodated without hesitation. Breakfast at the restaurant was also excellent. We will stay here again on our next visit to Brisbane.

Mercure Brisbane: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Our Stay"

2nd May 2012, wpjp, Melbourne, Australia

We arrived very late in the evening to check in and the staff welcomed us as though it was first thing in the morning, The room was great and the view was fabulous. I didn't realize when I booked that our breakfast was included in the price of the room, so that was a pleasant surprize. Our family members had stayed with you before so they were more than pleased to stay with you again and they actually extended their stay an extra night. We had drinks in the bar and the barstaff we very pleasant also

Mercure Brisbane: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Mercure stay April 2012"

26th April 2012, AlanA49, Brisbane, Australia

My comments relate to the pillows which were not what we are used to but we failed to contact housekeeping to try to get something better. We also had to have the concierge attend a couple of times to get the TV working. We appreciated the upgrade to the riverview room and we enjoyed the special seafood buffet deal. I also note that you are charging a credit card fee which seems to be a bad habit being used by a number of businesses. I wonder whether the small amount of the fee is worth the adverse customer sentiment. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Mercure Brisbane: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good hotel in a great location"

23rd April 2012, ecka_d, Wollongong, Australia

We chose this hotel primarily for its location with the bonus of a 3 nights for the cost of 2 nights offer. As Le Club members we enjoy additional benefits in particular the dining rebate and the reduced parking rate though this facility that was once included in tariffs is now a substantial additional fee when travelling to major Cities. Also the availability and proximity to the Ibis Hotel dining/bar facilties is excellent. As retirees on a fixed income our only real dislike is the ever obtrusive mini-bar which is expensive and outside of our budget provision. Also fixed breakfast costs are excessive for travellers who would prefer a range of lighter meals at more realistic prices. In view of the ageing population a review to remove bath tubs and replace them with shower recesses should be undertaken when any upgrade to bathroom facilities is undertaken. The need to elevate the bath to accomodate the plumbing is understood but the step down when exiting the bath is dangerous for people who are unsteady on their feet . One of our friends also staying at the Mecure had a fall because of this varying level. My partners Daughter, an Occupational Therapist, says one of the major causes of hip and leg fractures in the older age group is caused when exiting showers over baths and health authorities strongly recommend that older people install stand alone shower recesses if at all possible. Just a thought - I know myself that in my years of travelling I have only ever had a bath in preference to a shower when a specific Spa type facility was available and this novelty soon wears off. Such facilities can be a feature of specific rooms and be available to those who prefer a bath rather than a shower

Mercure Brisbane: 5.0 out of 5 stars "As long time Accor members, it's always a pleasure staying at any location, the staff are obviously well chosen."

19th April 2012, TinaRoy, Cairns, Australia

Having been long time members of the Accor group, it's a pleasure to be able to state, that it would be very advantageous for local, and visiting people, to take advantage of the comfort, excellent quality, and variety of food, presented in Accor hotels and restaurants. In fact, should the company be thinking of making a commercial presentation, informingAustralian's and Visisitors alike, of the benefits in using Accor facilities, as a retired T/V commercial advertising worker, I would be very happy to be involved, as I would be speaking of personal satisfaction, in the quality, and affordable benefits of the Accor products.

Staff were great - needed an early checjkin as we had a wedding to go to at 2.30, so needed time for shower, rest and dressing. Got in as soon as they had a room available with plenty of time to get to the wedding.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Mecure in Brisbane. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and always seemed to be smiling. It is a short walk to the Queen St Mall and the River Cat Quay so getting about was no problem. We also enjoyed the bar and Bistro.

Mercure Brisbane: 5.0 out of 5 stars "MERUCRE ON GOOD FRIDAY"

11th April 2012, Toowoomba, Australia

Very pleasant location overlooking the Brisbane River - just beautiful- just one negative - as we have a 4 wheel drive we had to walk a few blocks to park in underground parking that was high enough - we were surprised that the Mecure did not own their own parking for the hotel clients.

Mercure Brisbane: 4.0 out of 5 stars "everything at your feet., ."

the room was lovely and clean, river veiws, friendly staff thoughout the hotel. 2 minute was to the heart of brisbane shopping area , cross the road for night life, bars, eats, plus lovely to get out and power walk, run or bike in the morning

Mercure Brisbane: 5.0 out of 5 stars "two nights stay"

4th April 2012, Bundaberg, Australia

We chose the mercure brisbane, due to having stayed there before. It is also a handy walk to roma street station, and to the arts & cultural precinct. We enjoyed the seafood buffet thoroughly, at the hotel restaurant. Hotel staff were all very helpful and friendly. We would stay again when the opportunity arises.

Mercure Brisbane: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Check the room configuration"

30th March 2012, Newcastle, Australia

On our recent stay we encountered a number of issues:1. the room configuration was not as booked. We booked a QUEEN bed room and I confirmed with hotel staff 2 days prior to arrival that we did not want DOUBLE bed with SINGLE bed configuration. On arrival to hotel, we were put in a DOUBLE with SINGLE bed configuration - on querying - the room was reverted to a QUEEN bed but on getting to the room - the bed was a DOUBLE bed!! huge difference and not what we expected / paid for.2. On check out, we booked a weekend package and the hotel tried to book for the room, dining and breakfasts seperately which was supposed to be combined in the package. On querying why the bill was so high and showing my printout of the booking, the staff fixed the error. The hotel is central walking distance to everything so that is a bonus, the restaurant and bar area is nice.Would we stay there again? Only if I triple check the room has a queen bed and they deliver on that.
