"Just the ticket"

I stayed here with my family (2 adults, 2 kids, 1 infant).Room suited our budget and was clean and well presented.Super helpful reception staff. Friendly bar staff.Welcoming and helpful restaurant staff.Managed to park in a side street and avoid paying for parking.Made the most of our Accor Advantage Plus membership bydining in the hotel restaurant where the staff were excellent both for breakfast and dinner. We are definately going back to this hotel.Thanks.

This is a good place to stay in the city. Close to Central Station and only a couple of blocks from Queen Street Mall. Food in the Novotel was good and there were plenty of places outside within walking distance. I stay at the Novotel because I find it good value for money and close to city.

My girlfriend and myself were in town for a mates wedding, we were barely in the hotel but when we were, the staff were always very helpful, they stored our bags with minimal fuss before and after we checked out. The place was clean, service was great, locatino was quite good but footpath access to the city is somewhat unsafe, not their fault though.View management response »

"Disappointed in Brisbane"

Spent 2 days of a 2 week trip at the Novotel in Brisbane. Although Brisbane is a vibrant, beautiful city we never would have known it. Our room faced the back of the hotel looking out over a construction site that started work at 7 am. Taxi drivers that we had couldn't even find well known restaurants on the harbourfront; no bell desk or help and front desk didn't offer to try and explain to cab where to go despite knowing the place well. Nothing special about this place.

I recently stayed at the Novotel with my family, having stayed there many times in the past. I thought I would surprise them by booking the Premier room at a higher cost. I must say that I should have kept the money! The only thing different was a free $2 bottle of water and a coffee machine. I asked for a few extra pillows as part of their personalised service (they have a pillow service) only to be told that there were no extra pillows of any type in the entire facility! It made for a very uncomfortable sleep.I think we will try somewhere different next time we stay in Brisbane.

From the moment I arrived at the front desk, to the time I checked out, everything about the stay was impressive. Staff were excellent, food and beverage and room quality was excellent, the service, the facilities all very impressive.View management response »

"Enjoying the city of Brisbane"

Belonging to Accor Advantage is great for me as I do not often stay in places that are not high on my agenda. The Novatel was a great spot to stay within very easy walking distance to the river, cathedral, city shopping and all that goes with that and to great places to dine. I had no idea that the city had so much appealing architecture.A check out time of 11.00 am added to our stay ( we were out taking photographs and back again by then).Car parking was also so easy and great to do just that and then forget it.View management response »

We were not sure where the hotel was situated and ended up in the car park, as I went to reception to check in the staff were fantastic, a very friendly gentleman came to the car park to help with our luggage and check us into our room. I meant to get his name so to thank him he was so friendly and helpful all weekend. On check out the staff were once again very friendly. Enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Location was great. Room was not ready at 2:40pm so we went to the bar to wait. No offer for a free drink while we waited. Corridors on our floor were dark and room doors were scuffed which gave the impression of poor maintenance. Room itself was quite nice but bath plug had a build up of scum so opted for shower. We ordered a $39 steak in the restaurant which was tough and when asked we told the wait staff. They apologized but again we were not even offered a free drink to compensate our poor meal. On check-out no-one bothered to ask how our stay was. It wasn't completely awful but disappointing at the lack of genuine care and concern for us as guests.View management response »
Management responseDear Karen 475,Thank you very much for your comments. Genuine care and concern are two things in which we pride ourselves on here at Novotel Brisbane. It is certainly disheartening to read that two things which feature so highly in both our training and implementation of training have not been followed through on this occasion. Having read your comments I will now take several courses of action: 1. Follow up with our Housekeeping and Maintenance Departments about the bath plug. 2. Our Food and Beverage Department will be made aware and their procedures will be reviewed. 3. I have been made aware that on the day in which you checked in there were delays for rooms at 2pm due to an abnormally large amount of people who checked in early that day making it difficult for our Housekeeping team to turn the rooms around to meet the check in demand.I appreciate your comments and please rest assured that the above mentioned will be areas in which I personally look into for follow up.

Excellent reception service from Sandra and Mark. Stayed in standard room but still found quality to be excellent. Nice central location to city and transport.Have stayed here before and will continue to recommend this hotel as a place to stay.

I was pleasantly surprised with my first stay at this hotel. Service was good in all areas, staff were very nice,breakfast was a delightful leisurely alfresco morning to unwind on a Sunday morning and check out late before 5:00 was most welcome.
"A little disappointed"

We arrived later in the afternoon to find our room wasn't ready. The staff were all wonderful, but after driving 4 hours I felt I shouldn't have to wait. The 1 bedroom suite had a microwave but nothing to use in the microwave should you wish to. There was no chocolate in the room (a bugger when you have a craving!!), and the night menu is very ordinary. Most of the breakfast items were not hot in the buffet which disappointed both myself and my daughter. It was an easy walk to the city centre which is perhaps the only reason I would stay there again.View management response »

It's unfortunate that you may have over looked our mini bar in the room as we provide both Dairy Milk chocolates and Mars bars for guest purchase.
