great location and hotel, let down by the bathroom

We got a one bedroom with the harbour view. the harbour views are fantastic, the bed is comfortable and the couch, kitchen table and work desk are all very functional. the location is brilliant and despite my complaint below, i would happily stay here again, just not in the same room. However the hotel room is let down by the bathroom. The shower doesnt have a very good drain, so whilst showering water pools in the tub up to ankle height. the toilet doesnt have a toilet roll holder, or a decent exhaust fan, which in tropical darwin is a problem, with your towels simply not drying in the bathroom. I would dry myself in the bathroom, then stand naked under a fan in the living room to dry. the hotel has a nice bar area down below where you can get work done in a cool, but tropical atmosphrere. the serveice was fantastic, and they got my bathroom light fixed when I asked for it to be fixed.

2nd card to room didn’t work at 2am (after a late arrival) where the lift stopped working and I had to wake my family to let me into the room. The bathroom was in desperate need of a thorough clean, soap scum under the taps, it wasn’t pleasant. Only stayed in the hotel as we needed a night but was really disappointed my stay plus night was wasted on this hotel.

The room was very run down and old. The tiles in the shower were old and stained and the toilet rim was brown and stained. The toilet had a very used smell. The doona on the bed had no cover on it. For the price we paid it was very disappointing and I would not rebook a room.

The cleaning staff were great. It was frustrating when trying to purchase a drink at the bar during the day. There was no staff around and we would have to wait and see front desk staff. It happened regularly
