"Overnighter"

Location of this hotel is great - I've stayed many times, but not for a couple of years. Hotel reception staff don't smile and extend bare minimum of friendliness. Airconditioner rattled loudly so couldn't leave it on. Room service staff were extremely friendly but dinner was stone cold when it arrived. Overall I felt the hotel needs a shake up of staff and bedding quality lags behind others. Overall it felt a bit "tired" and I would rather stay elsewhere.

Location is great. Hotel is a bit old. Room is comfortable and spacious. Room service and restaurant service is very slow.

The hotel is just a few minutes walk from restaurants, shopping mall and convenient stores. We find the Front Desk staff helpful and knowledgeable. The hotel could look into using smaller bath towels which are easier for guest to use and for them to maintain( to ensure it is spotless).We will certainly stay in this hotel again when we visit Darwin! :)

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and had a lovely time. The room was modern and had a separate lounge area with a fabulous view of the harbour from the window seat. The hotel's location is excellent; central to everything Darwin city has to offer. The staff were pleasant and helpful at all times - we needed to print off some e-mails and fax some things and it was all done quickly and without any fuss. We dined in the restaurant one night, which was as good as any of the others we dined at in Darwin, (just don't bother with dessert!). The entree and mains were delicious. The foyer area of the hotel needs a bit of modernising, but I assume that is next on the renovation agenda.Overall, we had no complaints. We would be happy to stay there again.
"Slightly Neglected"

Very dissapointing in this day and age that a very large chain hotel does not even pick up channel 10 let alone any digital channels, and channel 9 was fairly bad quality and barely watchable. I think this says a lot about the hotel, it starts with the TV and then you notice a lot of other things are a bit neglected. Not bad enough that we were uncomfortable, just a little dissapointed that you could see potential with a bit of an upgrade. At this stage you would not pay a lot of money to stay here, and we were lucky we got a good discount with the accomodation club we were in.

Stayed 2 nights...queen bed in a newly refurbished room. Spacious room with bedroom at entry, then bathroom and small living room with sofa and tv. Unusual layout but spacious. Bedroom area not air conditioned, relying on air from living area. Worked ok.
"Peaceful stay,Restarant a real surprise"

The room was small but recently renovated. The bed was comfortable. The pool was rather small but we often had the pool to ourselves. The biggest surprise was the restaurant. The food was surprisingly delicious. The seafood ( which Darwin is renowned for ) was amazing! We tried some of there new dishes - the banana, coconut and chocolate spring rolls were simple but worth having every night.

Rooms were OK clean etc. breakfast was just OK but we had just come from Bali where the breakfast was fantastic. Dinner was excellent. I would stay again at this hotel but not for breakfast.

Best Dinner of barramundi ever eaten.Room was remarkably clean. Amenities forst rate.Room was was very quiet at night. Breakfast was first rate and plenty of it. Staff were courtious and helpful at all times. A very pleasant stay indeed.

"Darwin Novetel"

We were upgraded to a superior room with a view of the ocean - very nice. The rooms have been renovated since we had last stayed and were very nice, roomy, comfortable. Pool area needs to be upgraded though.

"Not quite what I was expecting"

We had a brief stop in Darwin following a family holiday in Darwin. The Novotel Darwin Atrium Accor hotel's staff were friendly and accommodating to us. The staff were helpful, and welcomed us at a very early hour of the morning due to our flight time. The 2 bedroom room was adequate and had a fridge and microwave facilities. The balcony was very small with no furnishings. The lobby area was very tired, including seating that is faded, worn and outdated. Not what I expected from an Accor property. The pool area also needs some attention, very basic. For a town where you are unable to swim in the beautiful clear waters, I would have expected the pool area to be a central feature to this hotel.

My stay this time was a lot better then the stay last time. The staff are fantastic and the meal in the resturant was just beautiful. The room was much better then last time I stayed as it was refurbished. I would reccommend this hotel but I would only tell friends to stay in the refurbished rooms.

"Needs a facelift"

The Novotel Atrium is in a great location and the staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel is in desperate need of a facelift, I found the rooms and the pool area very tired and run-down.

"Why do you force me to do this?"

Had just been repainted and a very strong led based smell even in the room so check if there is or has been any recent renervations.Genreraly old and tired and dated but comftable enough.resturant food was of good quality.Breakfast over priced.

Have stayed here several times. Good standards, close to centre of Darwin, on the Esplanade. Comfortable and well set up for the business traveller. Really good value in the wet season, average in the dry season.

I was not happy I had to present my credit card for the room upon my arrival And that they was going to take $200 out Strait away and it would take at least three days to put back in. Once ther was confirmation nothing was used in the room as in the room service. So I ennded up having to pay $100 deposit in cash, I ask for them to remove all the stuff from my room amd even bar the phone as I had my mobile and own Internet connection but they refused and would not do it. Why could they no just remove all the bar stuff and other incidentals and bar the phone. And why does it take three or more days to pay back a deposit when it is paid to the hotel strait away. That isn't right

My worst stay in DarwinI have stayed at the Novotel before and found it ok, but this time was the trip from hell. Upon a very early arrival (0520hrs) i was offered a room to sleep in until my room was ready for $100.00, glady accepted and didnt get a wink of sleep due to the jackhammers breaking up the concrete on the building site next door. Later that day i went to check into the new room and was told i had been upgraded to the same room, i asked for a room on the other side of the building to get away fro the construction. Nice room on 4th floor but i didnt know the 3rd floor was undergoing refurbishment. All day long the sounds of drills going through the walls directly underneath me, i rang (1400hrs) and asked to be changed to a different room and was told they would cease within 30 minutes and i would get a call back within 10 minutes. 2 hours later the drills were still going and i never got a call. The lifts are slow and crazy and i would not suggest the Novotel to anyone whilst the construction work next door is continuing. I wish i had stayed at the Medina now

I saty at this Novotel regularly and is my choise hotel in Darwin. Rooms have recently had an upgrade and the bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in.Great location in CBD and good service by a great Novotel team.

The rooms were in need of renovation.Room 202 was etremely noisy due to construction work next door & the sliding door to the balcony fell off.Moved to room 226 & found air conditioner in main beroom noisy & carpet trim around bottom of the walls was coming un glued.
