"Tired but value for money"

We first stayed her 20years ago and unfortunately some aspects haven't changed. The rooms were clean and tidy but the walkways and balcony showed plenty of signs of needing repair or replacement.lots of chipped an broken tiles and rusting metalwork. Disappointing that the restraunt was not open in the evening as the breakfast was great. The staff were attentive and helpful.Location good and only a very short walk to the beach and local Cafes.As it is a budget price it is great value for money.View management response »

"A brief break"

Lovely location, nice room. Was off season so was quiet and restaurant was closed, however we were happy to walk into Palm Cove which only took 5 mins. The bar was also closed. A little disappointing considering it was such a lovely resort.View management response »

"Pre Christmas break"

a lovely relaxed stay over by the second pool thanks to a Sunrise Special rate. We swam with a duck, he was quite friendly but I dont think he likes sharing the pool. The breakfast was awesom as much as we could eat! It was nice to sit by the main pool for dinner and drinks.

Comfortable room with fridge and 2 double beds. No microwave in room. Good location. with on-site parking. Friendly staff. No free intrenet in the rooms only at the reception area. Nice pool for children. Breakfast was wide range.

There was no teatowel, washing up cloth or cutting board in the kitchen. The shower was covered in mould and looked it hadn't been cleaned. As we were on the bottom level the upstairs visitors were constantly scraping their furniture over the tiled floors.

We had several days in the perfect resort for our honeymoon. walkable to beach through a mangrove boardwalk or another walk into the village centre with shops and amazing restaurants. Great location (it is a bus stop on the local public transport from Cairns). We defo want to go back. Has its own (pricey) shop and hairdresser/ spa treatments. amazing pool and bar area. Suite was very posh. worth getting one with kitchen. huge TV. good screens to protect from bugs and creepys. Saving the pennies to go back! friendly staff and helped book tours.

Again enjoyed a perfect stay from checkin to checkout. Staff are efficient and friendly, rooms are clean and comfortable and the surroundings beautiful. Pool area was lovely and clean. Very good value for money

After an international flight of several hours, arriving late at night, and having a friendly faced person holding a board with your name on it , immediately relieving you of your luggage and giving you choice of seat in the shuttle pre-booked by the Novatel- is a cheery welcome to Australia and Far North Tropical Queensland. The half hour or so ride to Palm Cove is pleasantly spent in chatter with the other shuttlers and the driver. On arrival, the warm, tropical breeze and wafting fragrance of frangipani and other exotic shrubs is only secondary to the warmth of Clive at check-in whose professional and personal greeting is so genuine, and the bonus of an upgrade to a super-comfortable suite near the large lagoon pool, is so kindly bestowed on this weary and grateful traveller. Longing for the chance to cool off and gently exercise long-haul travelled limbs, I ask if I could very, very quietly trundle around the pool for a few minutes. The night manager gives his consent and my day/night is made and the start of my totally relaxing and restful stay begins.The organic and free-range produce available for the buffet breakfast is impressive as is the freshly squeezed, carrot, apple, celery, raspberry juice mix to begin the day, while overlooking the lush tropical grounds and lagoon pool complete with waterful feature. Just down the path the sublime Coral Sea beckons just beyond the palm-lined beach.View management response »

We arranged transfers from the airport to Novotel and provided flight details etc for this. Staff were aware of the time the flight got in from NZ and the approx time we would arrive to the Hotel. We arrive at 11am to check in. We are told check in time is 2pm. I understand this is the norm however the Hotel knew we were arriving at 11am as they arranged the transfer from the airport!!! All that a tired customer needs to hear is "we will try our best to get you into your room as soon as we can" not " check in time is 2pm and you are still looking at 2pm to get into your room" = Fail #1No shower cap - requested but don't have anyNo dishwasher powder - had to go and request it and was eventually given some.Dirty supplies on bathroom vanity - The resort is further away from the main action areas so not as close to beach, restuarants, cafes, bars as the other resorts.Pool was great for the kids however a light in the pool has broken and there were no signs up to say this so kids were playing in the pool until Hotel staff came over and said not to use this area as you may get an electrical shock...signs were then put up but it could have become too late, lucky in this case it wasn't.We decided to move after two days and stayed at Mantra which was just awesome.View management response »

nice pool, quiet location adjacent to golf course. great for children. good path through native bush to beach. Close to many restaurants/cafes, and only 30 minutes to international airport. Very friendly staff although tragically there were nail clippings left on the patio from a previous guest.View management response »
