"The front desk clerks were completely out of the loop"
4th September 2013, johnnywu, Tokyo, Japan
The front desk clerks I met were completely out of the loop.1.when I asked they where I could find any convenient stores or massage serve around the hotel, they told me "No convenient stores here and massage houses are closed before 9:00 PM outside" . But just a convenient store in a gas station near the hotel and a massage house called "health land" was opposite to the hotel was open to 24PM2.When I checked out, I asked to get an accommodation receipt, the clerk told me no receipt because my reservation was made by travel agent. But I made by Accor hotels website.3. Finally, I asked them to prepare a public taxi which can use a meter to the airport. They arranged a taxi for me which looked like a public taxi. But after I got on the car, the driver told me he didn’t use a meter and I had to pay 300）Baht. However, before I made a reservation for the taxi, the front desk clerks told me from the hotel to airport only need 250Baht. Was I deceived?? It was my worst experience stayed at Accor hotels.View management response »
Management responseDear Mr. Johnnywu,Thank you very much for your TripAdvisor report. I would like to apologise for the negative experience that you had with us. Firstly, regarding to your issue about a convinient store and massge place. It is true that the nearest convinient store and massage place around the hotel are Jeffry, at PTT petrol station and healthland spa, which is located opposite our hotel. Secondly, in case when the guests ask for accommodation receipts, we are able to provide to our guests straight away unless the reservations are made by travel agents. However, from what you mentioned that your booking was made by Accor hotels website. Therefore, if is possible if you could send us your name and booking details to us, email@example.com? We will then investigate according to your problem and inform you the result very soon.Lastly, for the problem of public transportation which you claimed that a taxi driver overcharged you a fare. We admit that it is our job to provide our guests for taxi service. Once each taxi arrived the hotel, it is our job to tell a driver for a destination our guest want to go. How much a taxi will charge to the guest whether following a meter or not it normally depends on the guest to accept for an agreement. Otherwise, you could change a taxi and we will get you another taxi. For your information, normally a taxi fare from our hotel to the international airport (Suvarnabhumi) is around 200-300 baht, not more than that.Your sincerely,Janejira C.
"Friendly staffs and good service"
26th June 2013, ami_ima, Yangon (Rangoon), Myanmar
I stayed there only for 1 night for a business matter. The check-in process was fast, the staffs were friendly. They helped me to find a taxi with meter and ensure that the driver knows exactly the place I would like to go (it was not the case for other novotel hotel in the city!)The hotel is clean, but old. The location is far from the city and not too close to the airport. But if you would like to do shopping, it is near to a big mall, Mega Bangna with Ikea on its complex. In overall, nothing much to complain except that they might need to refurbish a bit the hotel.View management response »
Management responseDear ami_ima,Thank you for your comment about our hotel. I agree with you that the hotel and some of our facilities are getting old however, it's good to know that despite the age of our hotel our services and in particular the politeness and friendliness of our staff delighted you. I will relay your message to our bellboys and customer relations officers and by the way, the hotel is planning to undergo room renovation. We look forward to your next stay with us!Sincerely,Janejira Chenarak
"One night in Bangkok"

Room size was very small for a family room, basically the same as any other room in the hotel with 1 double and 1 single bed instead of twin beds or a king but for quite a bot more money!Room states for 2 adults and 2 children, but unless you top and tail them I do not see how it works!View management response »
Management responseDear mjh101070,Thank you for taking the time to write your comment about your stay in our hotel. With the Novotel family service, we actually provide one extra bed to any family travelling with one child, one extra bed with breakfast should have provided during your stay.In case of second child, you will be able to decide to let your child stay in the same bed with you or put another extra bed in the room.We appreciate sharing your concernsThank you!
"Delivered what it advertised"

Arriving after midnight, I was looking for something between the airport an the city. Bangna was the answer. A reasonable taxi ride from the airport brought me to a swift checkin and then straight off to sleep. The next morning I was in another taxi and on my way to the city.
"Great hotel, excellent food, sad location!!"
8th January 2013, sdsingh, Hyderabad
Due to some mis understanding we chose this hotel. its far out.. for any touristy things to do, however, The rooms were great, we were given a 2nd kids room at 50%, excellent breakfast spread... very close to a "Jiffy" store to pick up some stuff for the kids. The Hotel has a great Chinese and a Japanese eatery. The Hotel is dated and it shows, we had clean rooms, but they were not modern. Staff spoke excellent english, and was very helpful!

the rooms are old and after taking a bath the bathroom was under water. The sewers must be very old.The swimmingpool was to cold for swimming and there was no service. We went to a waterpark. The breakfast was ok .This is not 4star hotel . Perhaps a 3 star.it was very disappointing.Six weeks ago we had a fantastic time in Novotel at Plonchit. This was a real 4-5 star hotel.

For the price charged ($87 US per night), I thought the hotel was great. This is a high rise hotel of approximately 20 floors located in the Bangna district, within 15 minutes of the airport in Bangkok. The pool was located outside and was very large and clean, with very little use. The exercise room had plenty of equipment, the attendant was very friendly, and I was the only one using it the 3 times I used it. I did not eat in the restaurants but the room service was very good, with the food being delicious and arrived promptly. The hotel employees were very friendly, especially the front desk and reception areas. Although not a Ritz Carlton, for the price you will get good amenities.
"A pleasant surprise"

We have stayed at 4 Novotel hotels in the Bangkok area over the past year. Novotel Bangkok Bangna ranks as the best of the Novotel offerings. The hotel promotes itself as a "mid-scale hotel for business or family travellers" but this seems to really understate the offering. We found the service level in all areas to compete with the best in Bangkok and the food offering to be significantly better than most hotels in the same price range - both in the restaurent and in room service. The hotel is easy to find and the access is easy.We would certainly stay again if we need to stay in that area.
