Novotel Sharm El-Sheikh: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Novotel Sharm: best in class **** ?!"

9th May 2012, Swisstraveler15, Geneva, Switzerland

Novotel is part of the French group Accor. I am rather suspicious when it comes to hotels managed by this group as I have had various experience with Sofitels in EU cities...Usually great location, good design but average to poor service... I had spotted the Novotel during last year stay at the Hilton Fayrouz, just next to the Novotel. I picked this hotel for the location and its renovated aspect. I chose a room on the beach side with garden view; first "garden" room had a view on the wall of the main building... Disappointing ! But after requesting a change, the manager was quick to propose a room with a very nice view on the garden. Room was spacious but not huge and very clean. Bathroom was spotless; no trace of mildew or rust like in the Fayrouz...King bed was comfortable. Mini bar was a bit poor...and not refurbished every day. Great location by the sea and close but not too close to the city centre. Beach was 150m from our room; no need to walk for hours like in other large scale hotels (provided you pick a beach side room) We only took breakfast in the morning and lunch on the beach preferring to experience different restaurant in the centre at night. Great start of the day with breakfast served on a terrace overlooking the sea. Typical of the buffet style breakfast served in the hotels. Attention should be put on replacing quickly missing items such as fruits, breads, etc and also on tea pot smelling coffee..For the lunch on the beach, we ordered sandwiches, burgers and other quick food served with fries. Good but not a lot of choice...the same applies for soft drinks; no diet or coca zero...Beach is large, well maintained, umbrellas are made of wood and distant enough so you don't hear your neighbour snoring. It is the best spot for snorkelling in Naama Bay with some shallow reefs just in front of the beach. Overall, service was prompt to react to queries and eager to please you. Very good experience as a whole; I shall definitely recommend this hotel to friends who are not looking for the ultimate luxurious experience..But excellent value for money. I shall return next year inch Allah !

Novotel Sharm El-Sheikh: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent location and perfect activities and staff"

16th March 2012, Manama, Bahrain

Hotel need to have more qualified staff with better knowledge in presenting the Hotel with other options while check in ... i booked through the internet for a connection room but i was not notified that Palm side has no connection rooms .. so eventually i had to pay additional amount to relocate me to Beach side ...

Novotel Sharm El-Sheikh: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Never again"

25th February 2012, UkJevo, UK

Stayed here for four nights in Feb 2012. The Rooms were ok and the location is close enough to Namma Bay nightlife to walk as long as you are prepared to run the gauntlet of touts trying to get you into their bars and restaurants. My main criticism of the hotel is the staff who were extremely unfriendly unless you were buying something from them. When we requested a late check out the receptionist lied to our faces saying he couldn't grant us one because the hotel was going to be full the next day. They would have to be arriving in 3 jumbos to fill the hotel the next day. We usually stay at the Hilton when we visit Sharm so it's back to them next time.

Novotel Sharm El-Sheikh: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Only low point: the mini club"

28th June 2011, London

Fantastic, as usual.I would suggest though That the Mini club should also organize stuff for the children ON THE BEACH. You cannot expect children to spend the whole holidays either in the swimming pool or indoors.Food simple but tasty. Very professional staff. Will definetely go back

Novotel Sharm El-Sheikh: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Became a nice stay...."

1st May 2011, Nairobi

First when we arrived we were told the hotel had not received our booking from the Accor website. We were surprised since I had receieved a booking confirmation by e-mail. However the hotel did its best and provided 2 rooms at the same price and we found the stay pleasant.
