"Information is always important"
10th January 2013, VincentYe, Apeldoorn, The Netherlands
As a traveler, we are satisfied at your information providing. Breakfast is basically enough. We took only once to build up the local impression. Those options are pretty a lot. We like it. The price of breakfast is a bit higher, but reasonable. Thank you!View management response »
Management responseDear VincentYe,We very much appreciate your comment regarding your stay in ibis Budapest City. My staff and I are so pleased that you were satisfied with our services and we do hope we can welcome you back to our hotel.Sincerely yours,Richárd Siklósi
"Short Stay in Budapest"

Conveniently located near a metro station with easy connection to the main railway station. Cool, clean and comfortable room with friendly helpful staff with one person going well beyond the call of duty to supply information on travelling. Would use this hotel again.View management response »

Generally this hotel is good. If you don't have previously made reservation, you will be charged 109 eur at the reception desk. I had 2 rooms with separate beds. Both of the beds are so close like they have never been separated.Clean place - the carpets need to be changed.. Breakfast overpriced.Good location. Helpful staff.View management response »

Really happy with the staff and service. The guy at the reception was very helpful and wanted to give every details on the advice that i was asking for. This happened more than once. And whatever he suggested helped. The hotel is very close to the metro station and there was also a hop-on-hop-off stop just behind the hotel. The road in front of the hotel was dug when i was there and the road to the right side of the hotel to me looked stinky and dodgy. But i must say that overall, i am content with the stay at the hotel.View management response »
Management responseDear ‘MRMAMS’Thank you for your nice words, we are really glad you enjoyed your stay in our hotel. "in need of urgent refurbishment"
26th August 2012, RafauBe, Zabrze, Poland
Great location, spacious rooms (as ever in Ibis hotels), but dirty walls, filthy room carpet, worn out towels (we thought they were dirty) and paint flaking off in some places in the bathroom and beside the room windows. On the plus side: very friendly and very helpful staff, fast wi-fi.View management response »
Management responseDear ‘RafauBe’,Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Ibis Budapest City. We are so pleased that you were satisfied with the hotel staff and our service. And we hope after a future refurbishment we meet your expectation.SincerelyRichárd SIKLÓSIGeneral Manager

The hotel has a perfect location in the middle of the center. The staff was good and spoke even Dutch! The 24hour reception was perfect as we visited the Sziget festival.Only the beds where of poor quality.View management response »

"Internet does not work"
31st July 2012, rafaelacosta82, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

"Good stay at Good Price"
24th July 2012, 9m9d9, Frascati, Italy
Like every Ibis hotel, you know what you get. But the breakfast was really poor for the price. The hotel is perfectly connected with public transportation, but is a little bit noisy. Nothing worrying but it has to be said.View management response »

The Ibis is @ 1.5 miles from the train station. It is @ 20 minute walk to the tourist section and the river. The hotel is old. The rooms are small and the beds are very soft. I thought pricey for the look and quality of the hotel. I would choose not to stay there again.View management response »

The hotel is placed in a good location. The room was clean and quiet. There is free wifi. The stuff was OK. My car was safe in the parking in the underground of the hotel.View management response »

"4 day trip in Budapest"
11th April 2012, Brussels, Belgium
The hotel is very well located. There is a metro, bus, tram stop just right on the corner, there is also a quite big supermarket (match) 20m away. It is not far from everything you need. I choosed it because it was located between the heart of the city centre and the baths, and also because of the price and the neatness of the room. The only thing that could have been better was to have a fridge or a microwave which are always useful. If you are looking to cook, just rent a appartment, they are also cheap.View management response »
Management responseDear Guest, We are glad you had a pleasant stay in Budapest and you enjoyed the center location of ibis City, and you could benefit from it. We hope you will choose again our hotel during your next trip to Hungary and please feel free to use our services and enjoy our selection in our bar round the clock. With best regards, Richárd SiklósiGeneral Manageribis Budapest City
"Hotel good, breakfast average, location terrible"
3rd April 2012, London
The hotel itself is fine - standard Ibis rooms and quality. Breakfast choices were limited - pastries felt stale and very few cooked items. The location is terrible - entirely down to the huge and very busy junction of major roads just outside. The square opposite seemed to be a gathering place for tramps and partying students until the early hours.Next time in Budapest will be an Ibis but somewhere quieter.
"All the basic comforts covered nicely"
30th September 2011, Tallinn
Only gripe would be that the free wifi internet was a bit flakey, tho it generally did work in my room at least. I just wish these hotels would either just make it free without the login hassle, or at least make sure its works better.
"Good Location, poor service compared with other Ibis Hotels"
14th September 2011, Izmir, Turkey
Well, what I like at Ibis Hotel, you can get what you expect, limited services but clean room. However, this hotel unfortunately even below this standard. There was not a hair dryer or shampoo in the bathroom, and there, one can hear irritating sounds of flowing water from the top room (Water pressure tank I guess, I was at the 3rd floor), the towel old and ripped. But above all, the attitude of one lady at the front desk shocked me.(Her name was Marta)I never had an experience any hotel, there was a business center and I tried to print out my flight boarding card, but the cartridge of the printer had been finished. When I asked whether I can get from another printer, since it was urgent. She very rudely told me, try at other times. Also She delibaretly waited me for just having a blank paper. (The other people at the desk was very helpful). As French Ibis, for all expenses for keeping the standard as much as high in worldwide, can be broken at the weakest point, the people in former Soviet countries sometimes did not have enough education for welcoming and assisting the visitors and the importance of meeting of requirements for brand name reputation. Also, what I learnt after haivin spent 4 days in Budapest, The road next to the Hotel along the Tram #6 is like a imaginery quality line, the street goes up the Main train station Keleti is dangerous, a lot of gipsy people stop you and asked money, even at day. So any hotel, towards the Margrid Hid will a better choice.RegardsBaris
