« Novotel Brighton Le Sands »

The location was the best part of the stay. It's close to the airport, restaurants and the beach. We stayed in the Suite King 1 with Botany a at views. The view was nice however what was disappointing was the room itself. It would of been amazing 30 years ago but now it just looks and feels aged, not loved and tired. The reception was NOT welcoming and didn't make me feel special when I checked in. It's not hard to put a smile on your face to welcome a guest. No Valet parking in a place like this for what money they want is also just rude! If you want something modern and contemporary and be made to feel welcome upon arrival, then DO NOT stay here!

« One night stay. »

Well , was some what surprised. why , I hear you ask ?. Ok , 21 years ago My Wife and I stayed there for our wedding night before we flew out to Fiji the next day , back then the Novatel was a mere 4 years old shiny and almost new, it was very nice although we did not get to see a lot of the Motel as we got there late and left early the next day. Turn the clock forward 21 years later. We arrived at 3 - 3:30 and were greeted by very friendly staff at check in , which has not seemed to of changed in 21 years , we were also told that we had been upgraded to an ocean view (hooray) that was very pleasing, once we parked the car underneath , which by the way cost $25 extra on top of the motel, just for over night , we traveled up the elevator to the 11th floor, overnight bags in hand. As we were about to enter we were greeted by the cleaning maid / supervisor who promptly asked us "was everything ok with our room to which we replied we have only just arrived" but thank you. On entering the room we were greeted with what one could only describe as a very Mustard-stale smell , Investigating perhaps why we were smelling this we had a quick look around. Well perhaps we were expecting the room to look the same as 21 years ago , But actually it looked like nothing had changed from 21 years ago , by way I mean that the carpets were looking old and stained , like you had tried to shampoo them but those stains just wont budge.Even the furniture looked similar if it was`nt the same , to which was not bothering as the best feature was certainly the view. The bathrooms were fitted out with the same gold tap ware that was showing signs of age , all the tiles that I think were polished slate or perhaps marble were the same but cracking,and one more surprise was when you tried to enter the shower / bath area there was a door separating the basin bathroom area that opened up only half way before it became lodged under the door frame. After opening the balcony door to let the nor easterly sea breeze in for a while to try and rid the room of that stale smell , we enjoyed a few beverages on the balcony taking in the view over the beach and water that has certainly not changed over the 21 years since visiting. Well an hour or two had passed and that smell just wont go , which didn't bother us to much as we were on our way to a wedding reception down the road.Not enough room to continue ! But staff were fantastic , a bit pricey for what is , and could do with an upgrade..

I stayed in the executive room and benefit for money paid was very poor. The rooms are antiquated and need refurbishing badly. Would not spend the money again to stay here. We paid top money for spa only. Town much better value to stay.

« Always enjoy staying at this hotel although a few issues on this visit »

My family have stayed here many times over many years and it is always a pleasure to return . I always book a bay view suite which has a magnificent view of BRIGHTON Le sands beach, the airport and the city. It is particularly lovely to sit on the balcony at night and watch the planes and the pretty lights of the city. My visit this time though did have a few issues: There was no chair in the bedroom to sit on so had to sit on bed to read or watch tv. On previous stays there has always been a wing back chair with foot stool. On my second day I returned back to the room at 10pm after leaving the hotel about 3pm after a lovely day out to find the Room had not been made up despite having the 'please make up room card' on the door. I Phoned Reception and they were very nice about it and offered to have the room cleaned but at 10pm We were tired so just asked for fresh towels. They also offered a late check out to compensate. I left my charger behind and rang on my return home to ask if it could be sent to me. It was going to be checked with housekeeping but still haven't heard back so am assuming it has gone into housekeeping lost property. Despite these issues I would stay again as the parking is easy, the hotel clean and quiet, the pool area indoors and outdoors is great although the gym wasn't open on a public holiday which was an annoyance. Breakfast is always good value and if you are an Accor Plus member a nice separate area is available.

« Great with children »

Love the spa, steam room & indoor heated pool especially for the winter season. We stayed by pool most of the day & ordered pizzas for lunch. My kids love it here. We stayed here last year in April and now again in July during school holidays. The complimentary buffet breakfast for each night stayed was fantastic & had fresh juice, bee hive with fresh honey dripping down a bowl & delicious hot food. Totally love how Novotel Brighton Le Sand had a chief there to make us fresh omelettes, scrambled, poached or boiled eggs. Great with kids as kids stay for free under 16yrs old.
