Found the all day cafe excellent especially breakfast, but if staying more than 2 nights early in the week choices for dinner are minimal,as main restaurant only opens Wed to Sat

Management responseDear geojudThank you for your comments. We are so glad you enjoyed Alpine Larder, as a relatively new addition to the Resort we have had great feedback from our guests and are constantly striving to maintain a high level of service and local quality produce.Over certain times of the year, as you have experieinced, Cuisine restaurant is not open Sun - Tue nights leaving Apline Larder as the choice for guests. Keeping this in mind we strive to continue to offer a large variety at Alpine Larder including woodfired pizzas, pastas, tapas and signature dishes including pork, trout and duck. Over the winter months as well as Easter and Christmas please note both restaurants are open 7 days a week.Again, thank you for your feedback, it has been noted and we will continue to offer as much variety and choice for our guests as possible. We have some fabulous events coming up at the Resort in both Apline Larder and Cuisine restaurants including a Peter Evans celebrity chef dinner on 7th July. If you would like to be informed of events such as these please follow us on Twitter and Facebook. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Resort in future,Kind regardsScott O'NeileGeneral Manager

14th April 2012, Maija-29, Sydney, Australia

Perfect location and views , especially if you stay on the lake . Easy access to the national park. The new manager has improved the service and the restaurant food . The apartments are spacious , well maintained and well appointed. The resort covers a large area with kms of nature trails for walking and mountain biking. There is a long list of complimentary activities including canoeing , tennis , archery, golf and an indoor pool. A stay can be full of activities or restful. We can't recommend it enough.

What a wonderful spot. You can do as much or as little as you want. We went for a rest and were not disappointed. Unit was well appointed with quality, comfortable furnishings and wonderful relaxing views of the lake and mountains. Fully equipped kitchen, but the food at both restaurants was excellent. Staff were friendly and efficient. Will go back to recharge the batteries again!!!!

Novotel Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa: 4.0 out of 5 stars "High quality getaway"

15th February 2012, Samjade

Excellent lake and mountain views, good picture taking spots. Quiet, comortable and loads of free activities.Canoeing is our most enjoyed activity. It will make the stay perfect if bike hiring is free. Good restaurant and friendly atmosphere,we started the day with good buffet breakfast with seats facing the lake. However room service is average. We prefer the 2-storey style one-bed room which has more space and broader views. The other shortcoming is it was a 6-hour driving trip from Sydney, otherwise we will visit the Resort more frequently.

Novotel Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Summer in Crackenback"

29th January 2012, Bathurst, Australia

A summer get away was needed, and the Snowy Mountains were selected for relaxing and having fun. After much too-ing and frowing it was decided that Lake Crackenback Resort was the destination. It was far less expensive than Thredbo, just 15km up the road, and the price for a two bedroom suite was just $130 per night. Ideal for a family!! However, no kids were invited on this trip, and the room was perfect for my partner and I. Location is perfect, completely perfect, with a view of the Ranges from the balcony over Lake Crackenback, filled with bird life. Eating at 'Cuisine on the Lake' was sensational, both my partner and I (who eat out often) rated it as one of the best meals ever. The Wagyu and the Blue Swimmer Crab with Fig was just great. In short, Lake Crackenback resort would be a great family destination, but it is an excellent get away for couples, and there is plenty to do, see or just a chance to relax.

Novotel Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa: 4.0 out of 5 stars "FUN PLACE"

16th January 2012, Sydney, Australia

We had a wonderful stay at the resort .The time of year was fantastic and a very relaxing place for a break. My kids(14 & 16) had a great time as well. Food was well presented ,the location of the resturant on the lake made it a very calm place to start and end the day.Only down side 1. Breakfast on the first morning(first day ) ...the place was a mess and it seemed that not enough staff were on duty, dirty plates on most of the tables with staff just walking past them on the way to the kitchen... the following day was much better ,we did however get the the resturant alot earlier on the following days.2. bins near the BBQ opposite the canoe area were full and over flowing.. it took a whole day to remove the rubish from the night before... just did not look good .other than those two issues a great place and i would certainly stay again and i have already referred the resort to my freinds.

Novotel Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Crackenback Resort 2011"

11th August 2011, Sydney

The hotel provides good location, rooms, and facilities. However, service is often the downfall, with tightness on provisions such as absence of additional towels for gym, pool, sauna - this is a five star resort?! Also, reliability of room equipment is a problem e.g. washing machine, heater faulty and requires replacing / renewal.

excellent location, handy to ski tube. friendly helpful staff, excellent rooms and great view. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Would definately recommend this property as a great alternative to actually staying on the snow. Only dissapointment was a blizzard on the final day

Novotel Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Refreshing and relaxing"

7th July 2011, Sydney

Our stay at Lake Crackenback was fantastic. We were met by friendly staff at the reception and our apartment on the lake was just beautiful. With the sun beaming through the picture window of the lake, I sat and soaked in the rays while reading. We had bought bikes as there is a mountain bike track which was great for getting around seeing the resort. The restaurant staff were fantastic as we had a teenager with a dairy allergy and items had to be modified for him. Scrambled eggs for breakfast were made specially for his diet restrictions. It is in a great location as it only 15-20min to the snow for skiing and the same distance to Jindabyne.

Novotel Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Beautiful spot, Great for kids and ski field access but not cheap"

4th July 2011

A magical place with great facilities and easy access to the ski tube using the very friendly courtesy bus, gets you up to Perisher with minimal hassle and in good time, only a shame that rooms are only serviced weekly which at this rate ($430/night plus) in early season, and late check out not available (in a 2/3 empty resort) without additional charge seems pretty mean.

View management response »

Management responseThank you for sharing your experience with others about Lake Crackenback Resort. We are extremely proud of the Resort we have here, it is beautiful and great for kids. Our apartments are serviced weekly to keep try and keep the cost of the accommodation to a minimum, please understand that all our accommodation is apartment style so the costs would be quite high to included servicing daily. Once again, we do appreciate you taking the time to place your comments and hope you come back to enjoy the Resort again soon.Kind regardsLyndon DiscombeGeneral Manager

Novotel Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Kids Introduction to Snow with family Friends"

30th June 2011, Baulkham Hills

Our family travelled with another family down to Jindabyne for our childrens first snow experience. Our two boys were 9 and 12, our friends children 9 and 3. The resort was located 40mins fro Perisher where the kids enjoyed a day of tobagganing and snow ball fights, the second day we ventured out to Thredbo which was 15mins away. At Thredbo they went on the chairlift and walked around the top of the mountain. They had a fantastic time and came back to the resort to enjoy the swimming and archery. We will be back next year.

View management response »

Management responseWe are so glad that you and the kids enjoyed your time at the Resort. Lake Crackenback is in a great location to visit both Thredbo and Perisher ski resorts and we are glad that you made the most of your snow holiday and visited both. Next time you may like to use the Skitube to get to Perisher instead of driving for 40 mins. The Skitube will get you up to Perisher in 15-20 mins and is a novelty for the kids.Summer is a beautiful time to visit the Resort also with the children, they can use the archery, tennis, golf, canoes and even fish in the lake. Thank you for taking the time to let people know about your expereince at Lake Crackenback and we hope to see you and your family back here again soon.Kind regardsLyndon DiscombeGeneral Manager
