Stayed 2 nights at this hotel - A good location (Louvre about 10 minute walk) and not overly expensive when compared with similar hotels in the area. Good service, rooms a reasonable size, clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast room was closed for re-decoration but only told so on arrival - had to have a breakfast tray in room (just about okay) but would have preferred to take breakfast elsewhere and a refund for the hotels prepaid breakfast. The L'open open top bus (€41 for 2 day pass including Batobus boats) is a good way to see the sites if your a first time visitor or just have a couple of days as it offers a choice of 4 routes (Montmartre route is the least interesting) plus the boat but be warned the bus stop a Notre Dame has been move to the other side of the Seine due to roadworks.

Paris's Place Vendôme is the bastion of name-brand luxury merchandising and luxury hotels such as the original Ritz. Yet just off the Place and Rue Royale is the Hotel Mercure Stendahl, a 22-room surprise. It is fairly priced. Our room (#14) was large and quiet, as it gave onto a small courtyard. The room included two (!) closets, a sitting area, and a wonderfully comfortable bed. The staff was small, knowledgeable, and friendly.Despite the glitzy neighborhood, there's the new Marché St. Honoré square nearby, with good, modestly priced restaurants, both French and ethnic. We parked our rental car under the Place Vendôme for a fair price. Guests are near public transport, and walking distance of the Louvre and the Place de l'Opéra, Galéries Lafayette, rue Faubourg-St. Honoré specialty/fashion shops, and Monoprix for life's necessities.The air conditioning could have been colder, but I could open the two windows onto the courtyard. The soap bar could have been larger, but the toiletries array was excellent. The bar in the bath/shower was loose, but it was promptly repaired. The free Internet worked quite well, but the desk could have used more electrical outlets. These are really minor issues; I'd definitely book this hotel on returning to Paris.

"Lovely Hotel in Great Location"

The Mecure Paris Stendhal is a great little hotel in the heart of Paris (approx. 10mins walk from the Louvre, 5mins to nearest metro station). Check-in and out was efficient, and the hotel was able to hold our luggage until we left Paris later in the day.The room itself was fine for a short stay, but a little on the small side so you might struggle if you had lots of luggage with you. We had a room at the front of the hotel but were not disturbed by any street noise.The bathroom fittings were of a good standard, but the bath itself is possibly the narrowest I have ever been in!All in all, a reasonably-priced hotel in a very nice area of Paris. We would stay there again if visiting the city in the future.

One of my favorite hotels in Paris.Ideally located near the Place Vendome. Hotel small & intimate. Rooms clean, comfortable & well equiped.Staff friendly & welcoming. Only down side is a very small breakfast room situation in the cellar of the hotel.
