Great hotel, service and location. I do recommend this hotel. Naples is a beautiful city and the hotel is close to many important places. Also close to Piazza Municipio that is a good point to start the tour.Easy access to the marina, to getmthe boat to Capri island.

This was our first visit to Italy although I have used a Mercure hotel in Paris. The reception staff at this hotel were excellent. They spoke very good English, were friendly and extremely helpful. We had two rooms both of adequate size, clean and air conditioned. Basic tea/coffee making facilities were in the room as well as a small fridge. We were situated at the back of the hotel, looking out towards the port and had a small veranda (very handy as a smoker!). We were pleasantly surprised with how quiet it was in the rooms despite the busy traffic in Naples. For what we wanted to do in Naples the location of this hotel was ideal. The Alibus (3 euros each) which runs from the Airport to Central Station and then onto the Piazza Municipio stopped directly opposite the hotel - perfect! We were just a stones throw away from the Castel Nuovo (well worth a visit) and a short walk from the Castel dell'Ovo (also worth a vist). Another short walk and you're in the Spanish Quarter with the Via Toledo close by and a slightly longer walk and you're smack bang in the Historic Centre. The Hop on Hop off bus tours depart from outside the Castel Nuovo and all main city bus routes all pass close to the hotel. Not sure if the bin men were on strike but there was piles of rotting rubbish all over the streets of Naples. In 4 days we saw only one dustcart and that was parked up with the driver taking an early morning nap! Despite that we enjoyed our first visit to Italy and would definitely recommend this hotel. With regards to crossing the road - watch the locals!
"Not many z's"

While the curtains block out any sort of light, the bed itself was a challenge with the pillow constantly falling down a massive gap between the bed and the bedhead. Our wake up call every morning was the sound of drilling and hammering with construction going on in the hotel directly under our room. We were not informed of this at all on check in.Breakfast was a waste of time. The port is only a short walk away which helped. Close-ish proximity to ok dinner venues. Staff were useless recommending a restaurant. We informed them of my seafood allergy and so she recommended a seafood restaurant and suggested we could ask for no seafood.

Management responseKind traveller, thanks you to have found the time to express your opinion on your stay in our hotel. As justly you have signalled, we are in a phase of complete restructuring of all the rooms of the hotel, and to also follow some common zones, and certainly this can sometimes bother the guests for the presence of workers and noises, but it is a necessary transitory phase to become best and to be to the height of the expectations of our clients more and more. We are sorry that at check in time is escaped to give these information, but really because it can happen that escapes, it is exposed in permanent way an informative to the clients in 3 languages, visibly in the zone elevators of the hall, that besides points out the schedules in which it can be work us noisy. During the month of July 2011 it has been programmed the assemblage of the furniture for the last restructured rooms, job that has evidently caused more noise, but in every case the workers could not work out any established timeframe, or beginning starting from the hours 09,00 a.m. If contrarily, as it seems me to understand, the noises during your stay started very soon in the morning to serve as alarm clock every morning, I would be happy to receive on your behalf a feedback more detailed for intervening on the firms that did evidently not follow the received indications . I would also like to understand better what you intend for "waiste of time" in reference to the breakfast and the number of room you occupied, in order to verify the problem of the excessive distance between the bed and the bedhead. As it regards the suggestion of the proper restaurant adapt for your allergy to the fish from our staff, I am sorry you have not been satisfied. We recommend only restaurants of which we entrust and of which we are sure, and being in Naples, a city of sea, the greatest part in the restaurants offer base dishes of fish, but also offering valid alternatives without fish at the same time.I still thank you for your contribution and in every case I remein to disposition if you feel like directly sharing with me more details of your experience.Alessandra Bossa - Hotel Manager

"value for money"

Excellent service -friendly, helpful staff, and a quality buffet breakfast -of a higher standard than that found in Rome. Rooms are very modern with great insulation -no noise from neighbours/traffic. Unfortunately there is no local tourism information available, and it is up to the individual to source out local attractions plus suitable transport . Surrounding neighbourhood is a little offputting, as huge mounds of rubbish are in close proximity, on view from your hotel room & balcony. Close to excellent shopping, if you can find it without any local help. Also very close to ferries if you wish to travel to Capri/Amalfi Coast..
"Pleasant hotel in chaotic Naples"

Went with my elderly mom. they are doing major construction work on the route to the hotel, so we had to walk around an extra 5-6 blocks. With a suitcase each, it made it difficult. However, the hotel does leave you a couple of blocks from the historic center and the staff was courteous and friendly. We got the reservation that included a buffet breakfast and a 24 hr pass on the City Sightseeing Bus. It was great to orient ourselves to Naples. The hotel is near the Molto Beverello Port where the ferries to Capri and other islands is. But again, because of the major construction, we had to go around an estra 5-6 blocks, so it took about 20 minutes to get to the port. Crazy traffic, but as far as the neighborhood where the hotel is situated, we felt safe.
