Mercure Atria Arras Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Comfortable stop over with a few areas for improvment"

12th January 2013, anglo-australian, Rustington, United Kingdom

The room size is comfortable, fittings and furnishing are good, as are the beds and bed linen. The availablilty of interconnecting rooms is very useful for families. Being located near the railway station and city centre roads the hotel is very well sound proofed & we all got a good night sleep. Unfortunately on the way to the restaurant the alarm went off, leading to a bit confusion as to whether it was a fire or security alarm. We along with some elderly guests exited via rear fire escape, found a couple of bemused kitchen staff in the alley who told us to head back inside. The smell suggested kitchen mishap but the front of house staff informed us that it was a security door that caused the alarm. Despite this slightly shambolic start the quality of the dinner was good and service was friendly and professional albeit a bit pricey. Eating out in the town centre is probably a better option for families with young kids as the menu options for younger children is basic with little nutritional choice.....ham or omlette with chips at adult prices. The breakfast has plenty of choice and with the kids going free makes the cost more palatable. Four things I would improve, replace the paper cups in the rooms with proper porcelain tea cups and mugs, revamp the bathrooms as they are looking a little tired and no longer spotlessly white, provide free parking and include a proper childrens menu with vegetables all round.

Mercure Atria Arras Centre: 5.0 out of 5 stars "typical Mercure."

Good position with ready access to underground secure public parking. Staff all very helpful. Breakfast good choice and kept topped up. Arras is an excellent town to visit to explore WW1 sites and hotel is well placed to explore the town attractions. As a regular user of Accor hotels the only downside for this Mercure was the size of the room, much smaller than others I have visited, although it did have all the expected amenities.

Mercure Atria Arras Centre: 1.0 out of 5 stars "Not impressed"

29th August 2012, GeorgeBarnsley, Barnsley

Unfortunately, the hotels 5 days cancellation policy meant that I was charged although I did not visit- so sorry ensure you read the small print when booking here. Reading that the deposit would be charged is one thing, but being charged €210 euro when you have paid in full for 2 rooms and tried to cancel because trip was cancelled is not what I call good customer services. I did actually get a French colleague to try and assist, but rules are rules.

Mercure Atria Arras Centre: 3.0 out of 5 stars "OK"

6th August 2012, Canberra

I booked this hotel through Accor to obtain a disability room for reduced mobility & was assured by email that I would get a disability room. However, BEWARE, that the standards are different & I had a bathroom with a shower above a bath as a disability room. I cannot access a bath but had to make do. The room was clean & the staff were friendly & helpful & were able to speak English. The breakfast & dinner were good & staff efficient & friendly. Close to railway. We came by car, parking underneath, but a bit difficult to find. Good stay other than the shower.

Mercure Atria Arras Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent Value"

18th July 2012, York, United Kingdom

We booked this directly with the hotel as Ready to Visit Package. It offered excellent value. We had to ask for the inclusive maps, water and city passes, but apart from this no problems at all.All staff were very helpful and friendly.Breakfast was lovely, a huge buffet with all sorts to choose from.Visited the Caves and Bell Tower free with our city passes. TVR straight into Paris took 45 minutes.Would definitely stay there again and use Mercure Group.Well done

Mercure Atria Arras Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Overnight stay"

1st June 2012, Alcarcoo, Newport

Very pleasant and helpful Reception staff. Room comfortable and very clean as was the bathroom. Fast traffic outside caused room to be a little noisy. Underground car park access in centre of road outside hotel but not a problem as there is direct access in to the hotel. Excellent breakfast in very pleasant surroundings.

Mercure Atria Arras Centre: 5.0 out of 5 stars "HOTEL WITH EXCELLANT STAFF"

15th February 2012, Canterbury, United Kingdom

This hotel is in a perfect location for the town and has the benefit of an excellant restaurant which we ate in as the temperature outside was about minus 6! The water heater broke down so we had no hot water until the morning but upon the staff finding out that because it took two hours after the repair in the evening before the water could be hot again we were provided with free breakfast for two to compensate us for the lack of essential amenity. Would definately go back again, preferable in the summer when it is warmer. A big thanks to the receptionist for sorting out our problems.

Mercure Atria Arras Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Arras Centre"

3rd September 2011, Perth, United Kingdom

The hotel was very quiet when we stayed - probably because of August holidays. Very comfortable and convenient for central Arras. Car parking was the only complaint - check in before parking the car or you are charged the rate for the public car park.

Mercure Atria Arras Centre: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Above the norm"

15th August 2011, Colchester

The hotel was above the Norm. It would have been helpful to us to have better guidance on local resturants. The night before at Metz they added to our overnight stop by providing good advice and discount vouchers for a good resturant.

Mercure Atria Arras Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Very Good Hotel"

24th April 2011, Bournemouth

Excellent location near the centre and the restaurants. Rooms were bit smaller than I expected for a Mercure but were very clean and comfy. Slept very well. The breakfast was very expensive so we went to the bakery down the road. Would stay again.
