"a bed to die for"

I am pretty certain I have never fallen asleep faster in my life and I was loath to leave the bed to check out. The breakfast was nice - if a little cold but service was brilliant and the staff were lovely. Location is within walking distance of the station and shops as well as easy access by car. Secure parking was unexpected but a nice surprise =)

"Great stay!"

Great stay at hotel perfectly located for visiting the University of Portsmouth. Helpful Reception staff, very comfy bed and pillows. Later checkout of 12noon was really useful and also brilliant that we could keep our car parked after checkout.

"Great beds, awful food"

Ibis have refurbished all their beds, which are now extremely comfortable - worthy of a four star hotel. But the food quality remains dire, with not all the (limited) menu available and food lacking in taste, over or under cooked and generally very poor. Sleep well here - but eat elsewhere!

Parking in secure compound adjacent hotel. Peace of mind for City Centre location. Allowed to come and go as I liked and no problems with number of spaces - although low season. Summer might get difficult to get a space.two lifts so no probs there.Internet £9 for 24h. No hiccups.Slightly noisy club on other side of main road.Bathroom a bit cramped but very well appointed.Good bed.Buffet breakfast very good value. Expected a croissant but included sausage/bacon/scrambled egg etc. - greatCheck in and Check out no problems with when you want to do it and no rigmarole.Staff really nice.Central location great for shopping and tourism in Pompey. All walkable.Overall a very good experience

"small rooms"

Rooms were defined as small in ad but it was smaller than expected and the bathroom was even smaller. I had to sit on toilet sideways due to it being set next to the angled wall and the shower was only big enough for very small and very slim people. However the hotel was very clean and the staff were helpfull and friendly, sadly the resteurant only had a snack menu available but the meal was good and service reasonable (once you informed staff you wanted food). Price of hotel tariff was good and I may stay again for 1 night.

"Good for the Money"

The room and bathroom were modern, clean and tidy. However, the bathroom (shower only) is very small and would be a squash for two people; apparently all the rooms are the same size. There was also minimum wardrobe hanging space. I stayed over Christmas when there was no room service so bedlinen was not changed. Clean towels were easily available from reception but they were very thin. The buffet breakfast was good but cost £7.50 and, along with carparking at £6 per night, was not advertised. The location is good, town centre near railway station and the staff (all foreign) were pleasant and helpful. Just a shame the rooms are so small.

Hotel is pleasant enough, but service is amazingly friendly and accommodating. If you are arriving by bus be sure to get off at the University stop. Good price as well. Walking distance to the wonderful Historic Ships area.

"Naval Revioew"

A pleasant hotel in an ideal location with a secure car park. The staff were very attentive from the reception to the cleaners and made the visit memorable. As we were there, sadly, for afuneral the University party across the the street was not particularly welcome but they seemed to be enjoying themselves.

"Overnight in Pompey"

Nice hotel with secure parking. Ten minute walk to Spinnaker Tower for restaurants and shopping area and a five minute drive to the ferry port. Portsmouth Harbour railway station also close by.Room was very clean with all amenities working. I booked quite a while before my stay and received a extremely good rate.

"Clean and comfortable"

Very clean and comfortable - everything I needed for a two night social stay.Very helpful, friendly staff.I had a very good time.Small niggle - the cooked breakfast was very disappointing (though the continental bits were very good)
