ibis Birmingham City Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Ibis Birmingham"

great value but the service in the breakfast buffet was poor. Plates , milk, cutlery, glasses had to be asked for. Poor choice from the cold fridge. Only one choice of yoghurt.

Great value and great location, close to restaurants, shops and main train station. Breakfast could be a little better but offers a good selection.

ibis Birmingham City Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent Value for Money"

25th April 2012, Rugby

The Ibis was excellent value for money. The room was good and clean. The only downside was someone was banging on a bedroom door in the middle of the night trying to get into their room. The only other small detail was that when checking out none of the staff checked that how our stay was etcOverall, very good

ibis Birmingham City Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Visit to Birmingham"

30th March 2012, Bolton, UK

I liked the fact that you had to swipe your key card to access the lift, just an extra sense of security. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast plentiful, not too sure about the sausages. Nit picking, the room was on the swinging cat in area, but the shower was one of the best and easiest we've ever used in an hotel - thought probably newish. Location was within walking distance of Bull Ring and Palisades and therefore New St Station as well. Will be even better when Station is fully re-built. Moor St (accessed through Bull Ring) and Snow Hill not much further. In the middle of China Town, so no problems if you like Chinese food, but Thai, Italian and Nando's not much further, with a Weatherspoon's down the street round the corner. Would certainly go back to this place.

Stayed here as we had booked tickets to Glee comedy club. we were delighted to find that it was literally opposite our bedroom window. Very central location and the staff were helpful. Also perfect location for the gay scene. Will stay again.

ibis Birmingham City Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "excellent budget hotel"

9th March 2012, wacfred, north yorkshire

This is an excellent budget hotelin a central Birmingham location, with multi-storey carparking opposite. Very efficient and helpful staff. Only downside is noisy nightclub area to rear if you like sleeping with an open window.

ibis Birmingham City Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent location"

5th March 2012, Rodez, France

The primary attraction of this hotel has always been its extremely central location, and the proximity to the Birmingham Hippodrome. As a place to stay; the hotel is well maintained and tidy. Rooms are compact, bathrooms miniscule and storage space limited; more than two, maybe three nights, sharing a room, would be uncomfortable, but for one-night stopovers, it's quite acceptable, particularly at the prices offered. Broadband connection via the TV is hopeless, navigating the screen extremely awkward. If you need to get on-line, bring your own machine!

ibis Birmingham City Centre: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent budget hotel - if you book in advance"

1st March 2012

Was very pleasantly surprised. Very clean and good soundproofing on windows so wasn't disturbed by late night revellers. Only paid £35 - some people staying the same night had paid over £70 so really does pay to book well in advance.

ibis Birmingham City Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Brum on a budget"

21st February 2012, Bristol

Wonderful staff who made us very welcome. Fabulous location for central Birmingham, although probably unavoidably noisy.Shame about the bed, though. Good size, but a mattress that left us both a little stiff on the hips.

ibis Birmingham City Centre: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Hot water"

10th February 2012, Derby, United Kingdom

The hotel is situated close to New Street and the Bullring which is a plus. However, the cost of 2 nights (Sunday and Monday) was far too high for what was offered.First night I was moved to a new room as there was no hot water, on the final morning there was no hot water again. We had to boil the kettle to have a wash as hot water was not restored until after Breakfast had finished. At first I was offered vouchers to stay again but I pushed until I had a 25% refund from the last night. This was not enough, I don't expect to pay £200 for 2 nights and not have hot water twice. I will not be staying in a UK based Accor hotel in the future. I have never had a problem on the continent so I will still use Accor when travelling abroad.

ibis Birmingham City Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "A great place to stay."

6th February 2012, Lesley027, Holywood, Northern Ireland

I travel to Birmingham, on business, very frequently and stay in the Ibis, Ladywell Walk on an average of once per month. The hotel is in a great location near the Bullring and within easy walking distance of New St. station. One possible disadvantage of the position of the hotel is its proximity to nightclubs and bars which means that some rooms can be noisy. The rooms are neat, comfortable and now well equipped with the recent addition of a hairdryer in each. The reception staff are very welcoming, helpful and quick to respond to any queries. For the price, the breakfast is excellent value, with a good variety and I have noticed a recent improvement in quality e.g in the greater availability of fresh fruit. I would particularly wish to pay tribute to one member of staff- Ingrid who supervises the dining room at breakfast and who is very friendly and helpful.

ibis Birmingham City Centre: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Disco night"

2nd February 2012, Coventry, United Kingdom

Room small but clean and tidy, enough for an overnight stay. right in the town centre very close to railway and theatres but also very close to a really loud nightclub that kept me awake until 2am. Probably not a good idea to stay over on a Saturday. Bed was uncomfortable I found the mattress hard for my back. Breakfast was very good, buffet style and very cheap £3.60 with coupon.

ibis Birmingham City Centre: 3.0 out of 5 stars "An unfortunate disappointment"

28th January 2012, Gosport, United Kingdom

Located approximately mid way (travelling time) between Bradford and my home town of Gosport in Hampshire, this looked like an ideal venue for my extended family to meet up for a weekend break.Booking the three rooms for the group (6 adults and a child under two years old) was relatively painless over the internet and seemed reasonably priced for a city centre hotel. The disappointments really started on arrival;Going into the hotel to enquire about where the car park was I was informed that there was only limited parking and that it would cost £10 per night. This came as a total shock as this was not made clear on the website or during the process of confirming the booking. Being a total stranger to the area I was left with little choice but accept this additional £60 cost. Having paid up, I was informed the car park was under the hotel which meant we had to go round the one way system for the third time to get to the car park entrance. On arrival we found the door hidden behind a rubbish skip inside a small congested yard. Due to the limited manoeuvring space left my son very nearly scraped the side of his car trying to get through the restricted entrance. Clearly other cars had not been so lucky by the number of different colours left from previous cars on both the wall and the door. One of the rooms was booked for two adults and a child under two years old. We opted to bring our grandsons camp bed. This was just as well as there was little space to fit a cot safely and leave room to get to the loo during the night. The rooms were excessively hot and the air-conditioning, on maximum, couldn't counteract this meaning we were sweltering. Opening the windows wasn't an option due to the noise from outside. On the plus side the staff were very friendly and keen to help.
