"Check-in painfull!!!"

Wanted me to pay for the room again because I didn't have the card with me that I pre-paid for the room on - even though I had my driving licence to prove who I was!! Had to go back to reception 3 times because the key wouldn't unlock the door to get us into the room, only to be told that the battery was dead on the door lock!!! AAArrrgggghhhh!!!

"Very convenient location - once you find it!"

This is a typical functional friendly IBIS hotel - Staff are very helpful and work hard to make your stay run smoothly. The main issue with this hotel for travellers arriving by train is to figure out how to get there. The hotel directions should mention the lift which takes people from the upper level road (Smallbrook Queensway) to the lower level road (Dudley Street) to let people know how close this hotel really is to New Street Station.

"Good value, basic hotel."

You can't knock the price of The Ibis, so you have to be considerate when it comes to any minor niggles. This hotel is well placed restaurant and shopping-wise to spend a night or two in Brum, but you wouldn't really want to stay any longer. But then that's its point. It's a place to get your head down after a day in the town - it's not a resplendent hotel to luxuriate in. All the bare necessities are here and the very reasonable price refects that.I accompanied my wife on a day's business trip - it's actually the second time we've stayed here. Our complaints were that the room was rather airless and stuffy at night, which was a shame as the bed was extrememely comfortable (the only remedy would have been to open the window to a pretty noisy town area; no internal room temperature adjustments were available) and that the key card repeatedly refused to open our room door. Mind you, this only happened on the morning following our stay. We'd arranged a late check-out the previous night, but the record of that had somehow become lost. The bottom line is that it's cheap and cheerful and, for what you pay, it's a very fair deal.

"An excellent value hotel, close to Hippodrome."

A great hotel, close to the Hippodrome, Arcadian Centre and the centre of Birmingham. Very clean, friendly and great value for money.The room was good. We asked for a quiet room but we could still hear loud music until the wee small hours. Although it wasn't loud enough to keep us awake.

great location to arcadian centre clean tidy rooms good value for money just as described great night too staff were friendly and welcoming one down side beer was expensive in hotel better value in surrounding areas, recommend to anyone wanting budget hotel in birmingham!

"Nice hotel, shame about the temperature"

The hotel is in a good central location, the staff were courteous aand friendly.The only problem was the temperature in the room. it was very hot and could not be adjusted.The bathroom was excellent, the shower was powerful and it was spotlessly clean

"Value for money"

Great staff, great clean comfortable bed, all very pleasant. No complaints about hotel.We stayed 7 nights. Saturday night outside was not good but that's not Hotel fault.We would stay again. What more can I say, Within walking distance of all shopping and stations.

"definitely good value for money!"

would definitely recommend this. Looking at the price I was expecting something not so good, but it was actually great value for money. location was right inside the city centre so was easy to get to anything and everything.it's more of a pay for what you want then pay extra for facilities you might not be able to use.if your looking for a simple hassle free hotel this one is definitely a winner
