ibis Gent Centrum Opera: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Ibis Gent Centrum"

15th May 2012, Will975, Gothenburg, Sweden

Nice location, generally comfortable and user friendly hotel but the rooms are a bit small. Bar service and food are very good

ibis Gent Centrum Opera: 4.0 out of 5 stars "handy for centre of Ghent"

5th April 2012, Birmingham, United Kingdom

hotel very easy to find, staff very freindly and helpful , clean and tidy room , handy for center, shops and bars easy access to. from rail station / bus interchange

ibis Gent Centrum Opera: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Ibis Ghent Opera"

10th March 2012, Glasgow, United Kingdom

Well placed. Easy from Ghent St Pieters Station - the number 1 tram drops you right outside the Ibis. Great Pizza place across the street if you don't want to eat in, and easy walking distance of the old centre.

ibis Gent Centrum Opera: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Good location, small but neat room"

29th January 2012, Oxford, United Kingdom

Nice, clean, quiet room with wooden floor. Excellent location, very central. The bed was excellent. The breakfast could be better (e.g., no sugarless yoghurt, toaster didn't work so well, only one kind of tea). Also, no opportunity to make tea/espresso in the room.

ibis Gent Centrum Opera: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Perfect location"

10th January 2012, Rotterdam, The Netherlands

Gent is a nice place to visit and this Ibis was at a very good central location and had the usual more than decent Ibis style rooms. The service was adequate, no complaints there at all but it's not a four star hotel :)

ibis Gent Centrum Opera: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Small but pleasant"

27th September 2011, Birmingham, Alabama, USA

Room and bathroom are very small, but the simple aesthetics are pleasant. I didn't experience any noise from other rooms, so perhaps the walls are thick. Staff was friendly and helpful (including those who clean rooms). Breakfast is a fine European-style buffet breakfast, but a bit expensive. However, there are nearby places to get something simple and inexpensive for breakfast. Pillows were acceptable but could have been more comfortable. Internet access costs extra (10 Euros for 24 hours of unlimited access, or lower fees to buy a block of connect hours), and you have to buy it at the front desk every repeated--you can't just sign up for it online, and you can't buy several 24-hour periods at once.

ibis Gent Centrum Opera: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Very noisy"

21st September 2011, Lyon

I had a room with view to the street and felt like sleeping in a tram. Long queue to check in, only one person at desk to welcome customers. Noisy groups of tourists back from the center at 4 am.Too bad, because the staff and location are rather OK.

ibis Gent Centrum Opera: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Ibis Gent"

11th August 2011

The hotel is near all amenities in Gent. Nice reception area, good breakfasts. Rooms are small, and we really missed tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. Very high level of cleanliness. Staff helpful on the whole, though those on reception were sometimes a little rude, for example when I complained about the lift being out of order.

ibis Gent Centrum Opera: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Good value but expensive extras"

2nd August 2011, Leeds

Paying for parking and breakfasts bumped up the priceof our stay. However nice stroll along canal to central Gent. Desk staff polite and helpful and gave us tourist map. The rooms are small but very clean. Found grat restaurant opposite the opera house. Try to get hold of a map before you arrive as the directions are almost impossible to follow

ibis Gent Centrum Opera: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Decent, good location, excellent staff"

5th May 2011, sbesley, London

Top stuff all round, from excellent location to great staff, who served beers (and free bar snacks!) with aplomb. Didn't bother with breakfast, but able to park the car, and a short stroll into town. I'd definitely stay here again.

ibis Gent Centrum Opera: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Ibis Gent Opera"

2nd May 2011, Deal

We have stayed here many times. It is easy to reach from the E40 (although getting out of Gent needs luck or GPS). Underground Car Park is very accessible. Staff always very friendly and helpful. A room at the front suffers from a little traffic noise but it is not excessive. It is close to the pedestrian area and there is tram stop by the hotel entrance if you want to use that.

ibis Gent Centrum Opera: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good value for visiting historic Ghent"

2nd May 2011, Broechem, Ranst Belgium

Hotel is situated very close to the historic heart of Ghent and even closer to the main shopping area. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and quiet but also very small. This hotel is good value for money if the purpose of your stay is to visit the city and use the room mainly for sleeping.

ibis Gent Centrum Opera: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Our stay in Ghent"

28th April 2011, Stafford

Room was basic but clean and fine for a one night stop over. Bed very comfortable. Location is ideal for the city centre. Safe and secure parking in the hotel basement. There is a really good bar a short walk from the hotel

ibis Gent Centrum Opera: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Very clean, well maintained but small room"

17th April 2011, NIEUWERKERK AD IJSSEL

Friendly service at check in , but at check out receptionist decided telephone callers were more important than customers checking out. Credit card given for for guarentee at check-in had €150 booked against it for no reason. Received refund with no hassle

ibis Gent Centrum Opera: 4.0 out of 5 stars "I like Ghent!"

25th March 2011, TeePeeEngland, England

I was in Ghent for the European Masters Indoor Athletics Championships. I had stayed at the Ibis Opera before, and it was an obvious choice for this trip, being central to the city and well connected to trams etc. Top marks to the staff and to Accor for this hotel. It is very much typical Ibis. You know what you are going to get, and it all works. Plus points were the friendliness and availability of the Reception staff at all times, and the thoughtfulness of the hotel in putting all breakfast food on earlier than usual to cater for us athletes who may have had races in a stadium 5km away starting at 8am. Breakfast at 6am rathe than 6.30am was much appreciated. My sleep was disturbed by the noise of other guests several nights. Sadly, mostly other athletes, but on the first floor, noise did seem to travel along the corridors a lot.The ample underground carpark at the hotel is a boon. The number of shops and restaurants within very short distance of the hotel makes this a great place for a city break. I will certainly be returning some time soon.

ibis Gent Centrum Opera: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Nice hotel for city visit"
