The Hotel is ideal for local entertainment & travel as its within walking distance of the main railway station & underground. Also the main part of town with the shops & eating places.

What made this special for me was the wonderful assistance provided by the staff and the manager. They went above and beyond the call of duty. Without them I would have struggled to deal with a number of issues that arose unexpectedly. I cannot speak highly enough of them . A credit to their employer.

Reasonable location to CC - about 10 minute walk and easy to find from Motorway (if you have Sat Nav!) During Shows it, as are all hotels in the area, is not particularly good value for money, but then thats just how it is! I expect that when booking to go to Essen.Be aware though, I was given a double bed which was not suitable. When I complained I was told that Ibis never guarantee a particular type of bed, thats one I must check out in future. The receptionist said there was nothing he could do as there were NO twin rooms available, if I wanted another room I'd have to pay and he wouldnt refund me. I stood my ground and a twin room appeared from nowhere... how odd.I was also overcharged on my bill by 40euros, i didnt notice this until the morning I was leaving! But it was sorted out eventually.
