"Nice hotel at the centre of Hamburg"

Great location and very reasonable price for the centre of Hamburg in April. My only issue was that they gave us a smoking room without asking what our preference would be. Our shower head was also a bit broken so the water wasn't as strong as it should have been. But it's not so bad and the location and price more than made up for it.

HI,Held a business event at the Kempinski hotel next door to the Hotel and stayed at the Ibis as the room costs were much more reasonable. Satisfied with my stay at the hotel for the cost we paid. Front of house service could have been mroe friendly however. Room was clean and bed was comfortable, shower and bathroom were also good condition.Would recommend as a simple cheap short term option for a city break

"Excellent value for the money"

We had a room in 2nd floor facing Holzdamm street. There was little traffic, and room was very quiet. The room was clean, it is air conditioned, and close to opera, museums, etc in the city centre. Service was friendly, and the area is nice despite being close to main railway station.Breakfast was slightly better than in other Ibis hotels I have stayed.Only negative aspect was air quality in the hotel room, the air got bit stuffy after a while despite having the air conditioning on. Luckily it was possible to open windows fully for ventilation.I'm very likely to to stay in same hotel if visiting Hamburg again.

"stay at alster"

We stayed here in February in the freezingn cold weather, temperature outside was -10. Hotel is in an excellent location, this is the third time I have stayed here. Our room was spacious, with plenty of clean towels everyday. The staff at the Reception were very helpful and the girls in the Bar were very good. Breakfast was excellent and I would recommend this hotel again.

"An overnight in Hamburg"

Good reception and bar service. Location a short walk from main station, near to other hotels and to restaurants. TV channels varied, channels from England, USA and other countries, not just German channels, very useful. Only real downside was accessing the lift to our room. It was down a corridor and after some steps, not really what we wanted with heavy cases. (The long corridor to the lift was bad enough!). Room size was good. Our room was on the front of the hotel, which was quiet, except for some noise from the hotel across the road being renovated.

"Great Stay"

The staff were really helpful and friendly. The rooms were exceptionally clean and well presented. Really refreshing after a 600 mile drive from home. The breakfast set us well for a long drive the following day as well.

"great value for money"

You really get more than you pay for with this hotel. It is very conveniently located on a quiet street near the central station and shopping district. The rooms are on the small side, but the bathroom is a good size, and the bed is very comfortable. The decor is simple, but good quality. The reception area has computers with free Internet and printers. There is also inexpensive parking.

This was second time in same hotel after many years, and I really has to say I was surprised how nice and specially value for money this hotel is!! We managed to get room facing Atlantic, and even glimpse of Alster. Train traffic might be annoying from rooms facing inner yard.I can recommend this hotel to all who are looking reasonable rate but great location.Parking for hotel guests cost only 10 e / day.

Ibis Alster is a hotel where you get very good value for money. An excellent location close to most tourist attractions, shopping and restaurants. Good service at reception and bar. Rooms also a bit small, but ok.

A great hotel for my budget and very well located.The staff is friendly, the room was small but clean.Easy to get from the aiport to the central station by S-Bahn.Near the main train station (just 5 minutes walk) access to the all underground transport.

Highly recommend the hotel, very central, easy walk to the centre of the city and close by to the railway station and also convenient to the shops and restaurants. The staff were very helpful and friendly, breakfast excellent plenty of choice and plenty of it, the rooms were clean with everything you could possibly need. Would definitely stay there again if we return to Hamburg.

We were lucky to be able to get a winter sales price for only 40 euros per nightly stay at this hotel. The location is perfect, as it is just 5-10 mins from the nearest train station. The area is quiet but safe. Service is great too as the staff are very helpful. Like other Ibis hotels, the room is comfy despite it looks abit smaller. An excellent place to choose to stay at Hamburg.
