ibis Montpellier Centre: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent experience for a single room"

1st May 2012, BostonTraveler696, Boston, Massachusetts, USA

I traveled alone and booked a room with a queen-size bed "for 1-2 persons." The room met all of my expectations and I slept very comfortably. One caution: the bathroom area (including the toilet) was open to the rest of the room, which would have been awkward if I were traveling with a loved one.

ibis Montpellier Centre: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Ibis - visit in January 2012"

6th February 2012, London, United Kingdom

Hotel good value for money and well located, entrance to the car park was a bit of nightmare to find. Room very small but reasonably comfortable, we had a big problem with the tiny bathroom because this is separated from the room by a frosted glass panel and there is ABSOLUTELY NO PRIVACY as the room is so small. If you are alone it is not an issue but we would not stay in this IBIS again for this reason. Shame really as this is the only problem.

ibis Montpellier Centre: 1.0 out of 5 stars "Ignorant Ibis staff"

19th January 2012, Swindon, United Kingdom

A party of 60 plus number booked and paid for this hotel in August 2011. You arrive at hotel four checkin staff, three computers and only one checking in, rest on telephone taking bookings. Then they cant find my reservation despite giving them a printed copy with reservation no. Long delays. Same to leave hotel one person on reception for queue of eight people checking out.Breakfast only one hot drinks machine so long queues past reception desk. Ibis global hotel chain with 5 months notice - why didnt they put in hot flasks and extra coffee perculators???.Wait in bar for drinks in sight of reception but totally ignored. We ask reception, after they have checked in 5 guests, they say wait in other bar again long wait so we walked off. Never a smile or hello from any staff, rooms cramped when you open the door it hits the bed., Checking out, I had prepaid my bill in August 2011. They still added an extra charge for the room then more time explaining (In French) and they then had to credit my card. Nightmare this place expect many more complaints trying to get basics like bedding....

ibis Montpellier Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great location"

3rd October 2011, Loughborough, United Kingdom

Excellent location only a 5min walk to Montpellier centre. We had a great trip and will certainly be using this hotel again. Highly recommended. Don't miss out on the pay-as-you-go bikes around the city centre!

ibis Montpellier Centre: 3.0 out of 5 stars "ibis montpellier"

4th September 2011, Birmingham, United Kingdom

It was O K but a little difficult to get to. Only when you get out of the door and walk a 100 metres do you realise how well placed it is for night life/restaurants.Car Park was the most secure I have ever come across as the electrics failed and the car was stuck for 2 hours.

ibis Montpellier Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Ibis Montpellier Centre"

3rd August 2011, London

Very central location but surprisingly quiet. Room well maintained & clean. Lack of air-conditioning would have been a concern if it had been very hot. Bar was lively & being able to eat breakfast outdoors was nice. Everything that you would expect from the Ibis brand. Reception staff were helpful although that couldn't be said for the breakfast staff.

ibis Montpellier Centre: 2.0 out of 5 stars "My tent's bigger than the room"

3rd August 2011, Midlands

We stayed in the Ibis Montpellier as part of a month long tour around France which was part camping, part hotel/apartment. The location is good but the rooms are ridiculously small - our tent was more spacious - and we found ourselves hurdling over bags etc to get to the bathroom due to inadequate storage space. Montpellier is well worth a visit so I would choose another hotel for a return trip.

ibis Montpellier Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Ibis Montpellier Centre"

The Ibis hotels are always good value for money - and the Ibis corporate image is faithfully reflected in each one you stay in! If you stay in the Ibis Hotels in France you know what to expect and there are no nasty surprises It is not quite in the centre of Montpellier but you can walk to Place de la Comedie within 5 minutes. The rooms although small were very clean and cleaned promptly in the morning. We ate in the restaurant and had a nice meal. The breakfasts were adequate. Generally speaking the staff were helpful and friendly - except for one young woman working on the breakfast service who was not in a good mood . . . ! All in all exactly what you would expect. Good value for the money paid.

ibis Montpellier Centre: 1.0 out of 5 stars "BED BUGS in mattress"

19th February 2011, London

I stay in Ibis Centre Montpellier during 23-27/1. I discovered a lot of bedbugs were in my bed on the 3rd days nights. After the first night, in the morning I had few red spots on my left hands. I thought it was the weather dry and made my skin itchy. After second day morning, I had even more rashes on all over my right hand. I found a staff in the corridor. I told her my skin was so itchy and requested her to change the bed sheet and duvet cover. On they third day night, I got more and more rashes all over my body. I felt so itchy. It were seems insect bites. I removed the first layer mattress. I found out there were so many bed bugs lay around the bed base mattess. I took photos straight away then report to reception. The guy was duty manager on 26/1 evening. He spoke French to my friend. I had no idea what they talked about. I only saw the manager body lanuage was unfriendly. I asked my friend to translated the conversation from the manager to me. Manager said I brought bed bugs to the hotel. He said I lie. I should reported it as soon as I felt itchy. I was so upset. I spoke to him in English myself. I said u didn't check the mattress and ask for the details about what happened. You just accused that was my fault not report to u and brought the bed bugs to hotel. I told him what manager you are. Then he sent a staff to the room. He caught some bed bugs with tissue and brought it back to reception to the manager. I told him change a room for me. He said no room and nothing he can do about it. I said you wanted me sleep in the reception? or u found me a room? He said ok I found you a room but have to pay for it. I requested I would not pay any my room bills because of my skin problem. He then became very angry. He pointed the finger to me and ask me to shut up. He didn't talk to me. Then he ran away. I said i was the one who suffered. U have to deal with me. U had no intention to help. I would call police now. Then he returned to me. He kept saying not the hotel fault. Was already 1:30am midnight....the story was too long. It continued to next day morning to other managress. I have never had any apologise from any staff in the hotel. No sympath! I can comment the staff are so rude and no manner. These are involved night and day shift duty manager and general managress. No one take responsibilty. They didn't care at all. If necessary, i can proof by my photos and video of the bed and mattress hygiene.
