"Relatively pleased"
8th October 2011, PhysicsIsFun, Corvallis, Oregon
The Ibis Gare St. Charles is very convenitent to the train station in Marseille, and within walking distance of the Old Port area. Room was quiet, small but clean. Their restaurant was surprisingly good. Only real complaint: only one towel per person, and no washclothes. They did give us another towel when requested.
"IBIS Gare St Charles, Marseille"
8th August 2011, Southampton
Usual high IBIS standard, with friendly, polite and welcoming staff. Excellent situation next to the Gare St Charles and the two Metro lines. Clean, but small, bedroom, good shower with lots of hot water.
"Summer break"
7th August 2011, Abuja
Good location, rooms and food at a reasonable price. Walking distance from the vieux port and right next to the main railway station of Marseille. A good place to stop over before going on a cruise or to other destinations by train.
"Sympathetic hotel near Marseille Saint Charles Railway Station"
27th July 2011, Zoetermeer
Clean, but rather compactly sized rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast (not included in room price). Free WiFi in all rooms. Nice terrace under plane trees where you can take your breakfast in the morning sun. Real good value for money!Nice view (at least from our room) over the old city and the remote Notre Dame de la Garde.Very near (2 minutes walking) to the central railway station making it an ideal hotel for train travellers!
"Nice find in Marseille"
24th July 2011, Jav2008, San Francisco
After having a horrible night at the Kyriad Marseille Centre Paradis Prefecture (no ac) we tried our luck with this hotel and we were very pleased. It is literally across the train station, lively even late at night, rental car companies have their entrance around the corner. We were very satisfied with the hotel and its convenience. The staff during the day was very good and spoke english, which was a plus. Two things to comment on the bad side: there are hobos camping nearby, kind of a staple of French train stations, and we saw a rat once running outside of the hotel (across the front door)
"excellent value"

excellent service and really good and abundant breakfast. very close to train & metro station. Clean and large comfortable room. Missed having tea making facilities in the room. Quiet and good value as all Ibis Hotels
"Perfect for jumping on TGV, great value for money"
13th July 2011
As you expected for IBIS, minimalist but sufficient facility and service. Since we had an early connection for TGV, their location (20 seconds from the station) was just perfect for us. We arrived after mid-night, the staff was enough friendly. Instead of staying at hotels in Cannes/Nice at ripping off prices, its a smart desicion for us to spend one night there.
"Perfect for a one night stop over"
13th July 2011, Tyke85, Paris, France
Couldn't be better for a one night stop over. Walk straight out of the train station and into the Hotel. The restaurant at the hotel was very good also. Both the reception and restaurant staff spoke fluent English. Would definately stay here again.
"Small room in a good location"
23rd June 2011, Singapore, Singapore
I drove to Marseille and had a bit of problem locating the hotel. I needed some good luck but it's no fault of the hotel. The area around the TGV station is a tad complicated. Rooms were a bit small for the price but the location if you're taking a train is perfect. Had to pay 10 euros to park the car overnight in the TGV station basement car park, but I think it's not exorbitant and hotel guests do get a cheaper rate.
"Perfect location, great staff!"
15th February 2011, Geneva
Thiss a no-frills hotel designed for business people. It's a 3-minute walk to the train station and so it was easy to find. It was also a five-minute walk to the main avenue, La Canebière, and ten minutes from the picturesque Old Port.I came too early for check in but the staff let me leave my luggage in an electronically locked room beside the reception. After check out, I did the same thing so that I could tour Marseille all day without worry. And in the evening, I passed by the hotel, ate at the 24-hour bar and then caught my train.I loved how clean and well-lit it was, how conveniently located and how helpful the staff were. And that there was a blow dryer, wifi and a good breakfast buffet.
