Mercure Hotel Nijmegen Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Visit to Nijmegen"

18th April 2012

Enjoyable brief stay. Very good reception staff, friendly, they knew who we were when we walked in the door! Great location, near the city centre and easy to get out and about. Rooms comfortable although I found pillows too soft. Car parking also potentially an issue, we got the last space. As with other Accor properties I've used in Netherlands, they seem to be of a high standard.

Mercure Hotel Nijmegen Centre: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Renovations"

14th February 2012, Boxmeer, The Netherlands

Having selected the hotel for its location and the sauna I was disappointed when I checked in that the sauna was out of action due to the renovations. I'm glad I was awake early each day since the renovations started at 07:00 and not quietly!Breakfast was passable, although the staff could spend a little less time chatting, probably overstaffed.

Mercure Hotel Nijmegen Centre: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Good Mercure in central location"

27th January 2012, Brussels, Belgium

Not the first time I stayed at this Mercure, will happily stay again here. One night for a conference in Nijmegen, conveniently located besides the train station, onsite 'open air' parking is available (if I remember well around 6 eur per night and I could park until afternoon when I was leaving Nijmegen). Internet was free, restaurant choice was more than adequate, friendly service and the food was good.As a tea drinker I would appreciate the choice of lose tea for breakfast (not only tea-bags).

Mercure Hotel Nijmegen Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "A cold stay in Nijmegen"

24th January 2012, Bergen, Norway

Everything was perfect except for the temperature in the room. It was ice cold, but I did not bother to tell the reception because I was very busy during the day and was only going to sleep there. Since I got a terrible cold afterwards, I wished I had asked for a heater.

Management responseDear sir or madam,Thank you for your review. We feel sorry you got a cold and the temperature in your room was not comfortable. We had some unexpected and rather cold nights this month. However, you can always adjust the temperature of the heating in the room yourself. And if it is too chilly then, we are happy to provide an extra heater or blanket. So on your next stay please inform us, so we can make your stay more pleasant.Kind regards,Ivonne van DeelenManagement assistant

Mercure Hotel Nijmegen Centre: 5.0 out of 5 stars "A great place to stay in Nijmegen and nearby - and a train-spotter's dream!"

2nd September 2011, Philby_UK, Bristol UK

Typically good Mercure hotel in a great location next to railway station and close to Nijmegen city centre. Good clean. comfortable well-equipped rooms with en-suite and surprisingly quiet (since it's next to the railway station and we had a room overlooking the station). Good for business ana dleisure travellers (though food is expensive for what you get)Good parking, excellent friendly multi-lingual staff (why do Dutch staff always speak better English than me?), nice comfy bar (and a good range of beers - this is Holland after all), and WiFi (which worked fine for me) and wired Internet in the room. Mini-bar and safe in room too.Good room value but expensive breakfast at EUR 16 though the range of food is very good for breakfast and caters for most national tastes. Evening restaurant food is good and extensive menu but rather expensive. If you're on a budget you can get a better breakfast and cheaper but just as good evening restaurant food in nearby cafes (< 200 metres).Strongly recommended and a really good example of a Mercure hotel (best I've stayed in anyway).BTW, this hotel is also a train-spotters wet-dream location. It's right next to the railway station and at least half of the rooms overlook the railway. And it's got bood beer. Train-spotting anyone?

Mercure Hotel Nijmegen Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great hotel, great location, but very expensive"

22nd April 2011, Hungerford

The staff are great, the location is perfect being adjacent to the railway station and the hotel is always clean and welcoming. It is quite expensive and that just takes the edge off. But other than that it is a very good choice in the Nijmegen area.

It is a pleasure to hear you experience our staff to be friendly and helpful and that you had nice stays with us, although you find the rates to be somewhat high. Our rates are a.o. based upon (rate) availability and local situation. Mercure Hotel Nijmegen Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Regular business trip"

16th November 2010, Jay_and_Kay6, Glasgow, Scotland

An ideal hotel for anyone travelling by train as it is adjacent to and overlooks the train station. This is a relatively modern hotel with rooms on 8 floors. It is probably used more widely by the business community but provides good accommodation, good food with an excellent service.
