"great hotel"

Only stayed 1 night to attend a concert. The hotel is in a great location for train station & city center, The service was excellent and the rooms comfortable and roomy. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in.

"A good stay, once the smell had gone."

The room itself was great, with plenty of room for my family and all the mod cons expected - TV, safe, fridge, wi-fi etc. We had notified the hotel that we were travelling with a young baby and a travel cot was waiting for us when we arrived. The bed was comfortable and the room quiet. Certain elements, such as the shower and parts of the wall, looked like they needed a refresh, but otherwise it was a clean and cosy. The only problem came during the night. As the main bathroom was next to the bed, the smell from a blocked drain became overpowering and began to fill the room. The fact that we have a young baby kept us up anyway, but the smell did nothing to help. We mentioned this to reception when we went down for breakfast and the smell was gone by the time we arrived back in our room.The facilities on offer are good, with both a pool and gym available, although the pool is right by the entrance. The hotel itself is clean and welcoming, in a fantastic location, right in the centre of Sheffield.For the discount price we got the room for, it was definitely value for money.

Hotel is ideally located for the centre of the city with the "wintergarden" next door and the main shopping area and restaurants and bars all only a short walk away. Hotel offers a small pool and steam bath that is nice to take advantage of after a long day out.The rooms are starting to show their age - particularly the bathrooms - but layout is good and beds are comfortable.Luckily hotel does have underground parking but at a cost.

"Not up to expectation"

The location of the hotel was good and is right in the middle of Sheffield. The room was very dark even with all the light on. The bed sank in the middle make it the worst nights sleep I have had in a Novotel. Breakfast selection could have been better and replenished when any item ran out.

"my break again at the nova"

The hotel was great I have been there a few times before, but this time there was a young girl with a who was a little bit offish on the reception not friendly at all and every time we went down she was in the back and the guy from the bar went to fetch her. Normally I have found the staff great but I think this girl who I have never seen before needs some customer training

hotel in great location bit hard to find on oneway system need more signs. nice breakfast close to train station even though we drove. only let down was state of bathroom mould round the edge of bath room 306 and toilet area was a bit dated.

"Excellent stay"

The hotel stay was excellent. The central location was perfect for us. The rooms were very good value for money as when we stayed the prices were really low. Car parking was good. However, the beds (especially the main one) could have been better. The staff were very friendly and keen to meet our needs. The swimming pool, though small, was adequate for us as very few people were using it.

Lovely luxury hotel with especially friendly and helpful staff - and they were even fine about our two children running noisily around at times. The Xbox and toys in the foyer are a great resource too!
