good value and nice people , after many years I was back in this hotel and positively surprised by the standard of this hotel, however I would not recommend the eights floor during warm summer nights.

Hotel Rotary Geneva - MGallery Collection: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Great Location, Courteous Staff, Rundown Rooms"

31st March 2012

This was my first trip to Geneva, but from my understanding many of 4 star hotels are very overpriced for the quality of the room. With the UN and ITU in Geneva, there's almost a constant demand for business rooms which keeps the prices high. Had I not gotten a last minute 3 for price of 2 offer from Accor, I'd be writing the same. The rooms have been updated to an extent with HD TV and the bathrooms are very modern, but other than that, it's very old, like your grandma's guest bedroom. Almost all of the wood in the room had been painted a pinkish color, and the dark undertones of the wood below wept through, giving every piece of trim, or cabinet a grungy look. Consequently, some of it WAS grungy because it got missed and it would be very hard for a maid to see what was getting bad in the few mins they have each day. That said, it otherwise felt and smelt clean and I did not feel compromised. I had a non-smoking room, and it smelled that way. -Which is no small feat in a hotel this old in what surely must have been a smoking room in the recent past. The windows open fully, which was wonderful since it was 60F out in the Spring. Every staff member was great. I had to call down at one point because some kids were playing music and skateboarding in the courtyard very late, and within minutes they took care of it. The people working the breakfast room were prompt in seating you, taking drink orders and offering to make whatever kind of eggs you wanted in addition to the cold buffet. (which was kinda meager). My breakfast was part of my rate and there was no additional charge for the hot food or cappuccinos.. (The cappuccinos were not good though-wait until you leave the hotel to get coffee.)I would stay there again for a rate under $200 since it's Geneva, but for an Accor M Gallery, I really expected much, much more. I think the M Gallery distinction is new and I wouldn't be surprised if changes are coming. The location is fantastic. Close to the river and the main train/tram station is a 5 min walk and a tram that gets you to UN/ITU in undeer 10 mins and runs frequently.

Hotel Rotary Geneva - MGallery Collection: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Nice but expensive"

14th March 2012, BasvanVeen, Alkmaar, Nederland

Nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff, clean and quiet room with good beds. Location is perfect. Just around the corner of boulevard and the lake. Street is not very classy but an excellent location to discover Geneva. Close to the train station and some nice restaurants.Only issue is that I found it expensive. Breakfast is about 30 euros per person. And its just a normal hotel breakfast. Nothing special. But Switzerland is more expensive than otther countries. Next time we will have breakfast somewhere else but the hotel is nice.Mind you that almost every shop is closed in Geneva on sundays! In our case the famous fountain was also switched of on sunday. Hotels, boat trips and Starbucks Coffee were open.

Hotel Rotary Geneva - MGallery Collection: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Hotel Rotary - Geneva"

1st March 2012, Glasgow, United Kingdom

This is an excellent Hotel ideally located within a couple of minutes walk of Lake Geneva, the Old Town and all other amenities. The accommodation , service and staff were all excellent and I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Geneva. This is by no means a cheap hotel however it is well worth paying that little bit extra for its location. The only downside was that it could at times be rather noisey out on the street particularly in the very early morning.

Hotel Rotary Geneva - MGallery Collection: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Complaint Regarding the Accor Group"

1st March 2012, Perth, United Kingdom

I enjoyed the facilities and the bar and restaurant personnel were extremely helpful and courteous but I would not use an Accor Group Hotel again having been required to make an interim credit card payment part way through my stay despite my card having been 'swiped' in the usual way upon arrival. According to the Receptionist it is Accor Group policy to require guests to clear their account once it reaches CHF 2000.I have already written to the CEO of the Accor Group setting out my compliant!!

Hotel Rotary Geneva - MGallery Collection: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Geneva"

29th February 2012, New York City, New York, USA

This hotel was extremely well priced for location. Minor complaint was street noise late at night from adjacent nightclub however our room was 3rd floor and would not be a problem on higher floors. Enjoyed eclectic antique furnishings and extremely helpful staff

Hotel Rotary Geneva - MGallery Collection: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Well placed, good value, quality service."

27th January 2012, London, United Kingdom

As frequent visitor to Geneva I have tried most of the lower priced hotels. (there are no cheap hotels in Geneva) The Rotary is reasonably priced, well placed for the City centre for shops, banks, rail station., and of course the Lake / Rhone . It also has character, smart decor, friendly service and the breakfast rate is not as stupid as most Geneva hotels. It will now be my hotel of choice in this ridiculously expensive City .

Hotel Rotary Geneva - MGallery Collection: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Business in Geneva"

26th September 2011, Guelph

Good location, good service from the desk, the dining room, and the floor staff. Room small but normal for Geneva. Bed comfortable and large enough for a tall person, not much street noise and close enough to train station, restaurants, lake etc. for easy walking.

15th September 2011, Zurich- Melbourne tomorrow

Excellent staff- gentleman at front of desk when we arrived on 7/10 pm was fantastiche was also at desk when we left on Sat 9 in am- I thanked him for his professional care and attention(I think that he may have been English). Lady in evening doing/ checking the rooms was wonderful also- and fun. Service to friends who called in was superb. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Used printer downstairs- nothing was too much trouble.I cannot give you a single doubt or query- from top to bottom it was excellent.
