The Hotel Mercure Madrid Plaza de Espana is one of the best places that I had the opportunity to book. The services, installations and the sympath of the crew is excelent and the location near from the main touristic points of Madrid are the great reasons to choose this hotel for my future trips. I strongly reccomend the book in the Mercure Madrid Plaza de Espana.

"Visit to Madrid"
5th October 2012, Travelertorremolinos, Torremolinos
We were looking for a nice hotel in the center of Madrid and this definitely fit the bill. We reserved a room with a balcony, and enjoyed the corner room with a nice view of the area around the hotel and especially the charming restaurants across the street. The hotel desk personnel were excellent at giving directions and referring restaurants and places nearby to go for Sangria, and although it was rainy, we thoroughly enjoyed the old-world ambience of the hotel. It was somewhat elegant and our room was quite well-appointed with two large closets, a large bathroom, and two large night tables. We have already made reservations for another stay there in Jan.

Just a few minutes from Plazza Espana, the Mercure is a great spot to spend some days in Madrid. The rooms are very clean, the beds are great, the rooms nicely decorated. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I booked some days in advance and could get a very nice price. I will definitely go back for my next stay in town ! A big thanks to the staff !
"Excellent location"

Although the hotel looks a bit old and run-down, the rooms are clean and spacious. The location is excellent and serves as a good base from which to explore Madrid. There are several eateries and restaurants nearby which serve delicious tapas. Definitely good value for your money! I would stay here again the next time I come to Madrid.
"Good people, great location!"

In general the Mercure Plaza Espana is great! Good breakfast, not overpriced at all. Lobby guys are very nice and courteous Mr. Angel and Lope. Hotel room A/C is defficient, rooms smell a little due to carpeting etc., The location is perfect few blocks from Plaza Espana. Highly recommend it!!

Excellent location near Sabatini Gardens and Royal Palace visits.Although requested one bed, non-smoking; too bad, it was available at our 8:00 pm arrival, only in smoking rooms.Room carpet is in urgent need of professional cleaning or replacement.Breakfast Buffet personnel very helpful and friendly.

"Good Value"

Obviously an older style hotel and the lounge and breakfast room were quite dark being below street level but it carried a certain old world charm. The location suited us as it wasn't in the middle of the city and easily accessible by metro, bus and hop-on/hop-off bus at Plaza de Espanya which is about a 5 minute walk away. Plenty of places to eat in the immediate area. The staff were pleasant and helpful but only when approached. Reception staff were courteous but didn't exactly make us feel we were 'special' guests. Breakfast (at 15 euros) was more than adequate but with a rather limited selection for a buffet - if you wanted eggs, you had to pay extra. The hotel also offered an express breakfast option at a reduced rate. The room was comfortable with a small balcony although I'm not sure which room would give you a view of central Madrid (as advertised on the website). The bathroom was small but probably average for European standards;it was well-maintained and very clean. Overall, we thought this hotel offered good value for money and we would stay here again.

"Nice stay"
19th March 2012, Kiev, Ukraine
I liked almost everything, first of all the hospitality of the staff. Our room was rather good, the only thing what I didn't like was that the location of the power sockets in the room.I had to reach it very down under the table to charge my cell phone or laptop.By the way,we had free of charge and good speed internet access in the room.Breakfast was also good,if not count that it was actually the same every day during our 4 days stay.As for me,I think it should cost little cheaper or at least the extra charge fried/scrambled eggs should be included in the price.Rest was very good.I liked our stay there

"A comfortable stay at Mercure Madrid"
13th February 2012, ERNOLSHEIM-BRUCHE
The hotel is well situated and there was a friendly welcome from the reception. The breakfast was delightful, and the room was well cared for. Despite that the hotel is quite close to a road, the traffic noise was rarely perceptible in the room. The hotel is situated close to main town and one can easily go to main town by foot. Just about a fifteen minute walk.
"Excellent location"

The hotel is located wonderfully, just two minutes walk from Ventura Rodriguez metro station and a little further from the interchange station Plaza de Espana. The hotel itself has old-world charm in its lobby and the bedrooms.
