"Nice location. Good food."

Very Nice hotel. Walking distance to a lot of places. Very Nice food in restaurant - we loved the breakfast. Nice dinner as Well, but a little expensive (room service: not quite as good food). Nice room. Very friendly staff. Would stay there again :)

"Perfect Break"

I have never had any reason for a complaint when staying at this hotel nor have I ever stayed anywhere were the staff treated me better. It was my second stay here the first being 18 months earlier yet members of staff at both reception and the bar recognised me and greated me warmly making me feel extremely welcome.

"Good hotel and staff, but needs updating"

Quick summary:- A good hotel in a good location within easy walk of pretty much anywhere you'd want to go in Lisbon.- We had a "superior / luxury" room and to be honest space was pretty good, but the rooms are extremely dark, wardrobe space is very limited and bathroom access is quaint but not practical. Rooms need modernizing with less gimmicks and more practicality. I often wonder if the designers behind these ideas actually ever stay at hotels themselves.- Internet access (if its something important for you) is major pain and worked very badly. I had to sit near the bedroom door to get any sort of signal strength- Bar and restaurant areas are fine, but lack any sort of atmosphere. Inpart this is because there is no real sensation of independent areas with everything very much open plan. In part thsi is probably due to lack of space to do anything else.Conclusion - overall the hotel is fine and has some good points. But I don't feel this is a "luxury" hotel.

"more so-so than so-fitel"

Gym is not really a gym; if you want a real work out, do not go here. Breakfast ok - but since you need to be served the eggs and bacon arrive cold...The bed in room 220 is 100 years old...The room decoration is very nice, but rooms on the Avenida side or very noisy - old windows are not sound proof. I would not recommend t=staying here

"Billen"

A large breakfast buffet with lots of stuff I would never eat for breakfast. I could see that the rest of the customers where offered breakfast eggs (omelet, fried etc) but I was not, perhaps it only comes with A la carte breakfast. I did get coffee though, about 10 minutes after I ordered it - if it is so difficult why not just place a coffee brewer there and avoid people having to wait. Conclusion; the breakfast is not worth it, better go to a place outside the hotel and get good value for money.

"Perfect location and helpful staff"

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for a week earlier this month. The location is ideal. It is 200 m from the main square, Rossio, and from there it is a comfortable walk down to the river, a comfortable walk up through Alfama up to the castle on one side, and a comfortable walk up through Chiado and Bairro Alto on the other side. Restaurants, shopping and sites of interest are all close at hand. Of course, Lisbon is an enchanting city.We very much enjoyed the hotel. In the lobby is not as grand as some of your more ostentatious five-star hotels, but it is cosy. The lifts are typically French in size (Sofitel is a French chain). The ceilings in the hallways are somewhat low. That said, I thought the rooms were of a high quality -- particularly the bathrooms. Admittedly, my wife and I stayed in the Opera Suite (on a very good rate that we got from booking well in advance), but two of my daughters checked in towards the end of our stay and their standard rooms were also of a high quality.The staff were always helpful and gracious. When my wife's bags were lost in transit from Australia, they made contact with the luggage handlers on multiple occasions until it was delivered to the hotel. When my daughters arrived at six in the morning having travelled overnight fom Seville, the staff had rooms available for them by seven that morning despite the fact that the check-in time was not until two o'clock in the afternoon. When my wife and daughters left to travel down to the Algarve, the staff arranged for their bus tickets, etc.This property may not be as flashy as some five-star hotels, and it does have its idiosyncrasies, but we were entirely satisfied with our stay.

"Excellent city centre hotel"

Excellent location although difficult to get to by GPS navigation due to re-routings in the surrounds. Restaurant very good, close to the Old City and shopping. A little noisy at night as close to a main road but didn't disturb us. The beds are great!I would recommend to my friends.

"Sofitel Lisbon"

This was my second visit to this hotel. I enjoyed it very much. It is in a perfect location to access the city and restaurant area. The hotel is comfortable and very well designed. The cocktail bar is very pleasant and the staff are all very helpful.
