Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Great Hotel - highly recommended!"

19th September 2013, HallsRT, San Diego, California, USA

The Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese was an excellent choice for our accommodations while in Rome. Very comfortable and clean. Room had plenty of space for our suitcases and still able to walk around. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. It's a bit of a hike from the hotel to Piazza Navona but do-able (no more than 25 minutes), especially with a stop at the Pantheon and the Spanish Steps which are on the way to/from the hotel. To give you an idea, the Spanish Steps are a 5-minute walk from the hotel, and the Pantheon is approximately a 10 minute walk. It's not city center but that's one of the things we liked about it. If it was too far to walk, we took a taxi. The hotel staff would call a taxi and they'd be there within 5 minutes max.My husband and I really enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

Management responseDear Guest,I am most glad to hear that you have enjoyed your stay with us. Indeed we are centrally located yet on the quiet Via Lombardia street which is an asset after a busy day of business or shopping in Rome. The Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese stands adjacent to its namesake, just a stone's throw from the poetic Villa Medici and the famed Piazza di Spagna. Explore avenue Via Vveneto, home to fine boutiques and fashionable bars and restaurants. Take an evening stroll to the Trevi Fountain; toss in a coin for your wish to come true...We then look forward to your second stay at Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese.Best regards.Laurent HudryGeneral Manager

Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Rome"

17th September 2013, David C, Dothan

The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was able to arrange all my transfers through them. We booked our room using the 20 euro per night credit option. Unfortunately, the staff didn't seem to understand this concept. Also, after spending nearly $4000.00 on a room and transfers, I was still expected to pay 30 euro for breakfast, per person. Don't go to the rooftop bar unless you're rich. I believe our drinks were 25 plus euro each. The couple that was traveling with us never received full credit for their 20 euro per night option. They were also charged a $90.00 transfer fee which never should have been charged since all transfer fees were billed to me. Like I said, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. Next trip to Rome, I think I'll shop around a little.
