"Not a 4-star"

We hould have stayed at Mercure for 7 nights, but we decided to leave 3 nights before due to its cleanliness. This so called 4-star hotel was so dustfull that I couldn't bare staying there! Also, there are doves all over the bedroom windows, which I found disgusting.The hotel has a terrible kitchen too. A first course costs 10 euros and is frozen! A paradox when you think of Bologna as the Italian gourmet centre!Other drawback is the fact there's no parking and the private one costs 20 euros/day!!!!I decided not to mention anything to the manager because I was on holidays and didn't want to get upset, so we just left.The positive aspect is that the hotel is at the very center of Bologna and right in front of the central station.

I was happy to have a room at the end of the hall because I only had one neighbor and I had a long trip ahead. However the neighbor I did have was very noisy late into the night. There is probably little you could do about it but it did decrease my impression of the hotel.

If you on business or holidays and need back and forth from main train station and airport; this hotel is very correct place. Located opposite Bologna Centrale (Main Train Station) connected to all other main cities also there is airoport bus cost EUR 5 directly from this train station to the airport and vice-versa. Within walking distance, there are shops, pizzeria etc. Neptune Fountain and two towers, main attractions of Bologna also within walking distance 10-15 minutes from this hotel.

Immediately after checking in, I showered and saw that the tub that did not drain. I called the front desk who sent a maintenace man within 5 minutes. When he could not fix it, we were offered another room. We were in our new room less than 30 minutes later. The rooms are clean but could use remodelling. have refrigeratoers and safes. The rooms The front desk is helpful in suggesting restaurants and making dinner reservations.

Arriving by train, it's right opposite the station, yet you don't hear any noise at all.Good Mercure standard fare, breakfast buffet tasty, rooms fully equipped if slightly worn looking.Great price for this one night stay.

A good central location for a brief one night stay on the way to a business meeting. Very handy to walk in Bologna. In the morning I walked in the lovely garden after breakfast and would like to return for a longer stay

In front of Main Train Station, excellent for day trips to Ferrara, Venice, Florence...Short taxi ride to Trade Fair facilities, and the bus to the Fair stops right in front of the hotel.Downtown area and great restaurants within walking distance...Breakfast is just what you need to be fully satisfied.Rooms are small (normal in Italy) and should be renovated sometime soon.The staff will help you with any questions and give valuable suggestion; they all speak good English.I have stayed at this hotel for many years when visiting a biennial Trade Fair, and will continue doing so...
"Lovely Hotel with a secret garden"

This hotel was ideally located across from Train Station and close to centre of the town.Reception staff were professional and very friendly to us. The garden at the back of the Hotel Bar was just beautiful, a lovey surprise and you would hardly think you were in the middle of a city.Hotel Bedrooms were adequately comfortable for the night. Another nice surprise was that the bottled water in the fridge was FREE! Its the first time I have ever seen this - well done Hotel Mercure.
