Novotel Bourges: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Booking July 2011"

As always Novotel offers excellent accommodation. We always use Novotel when travelling in France. However, the accommodation is identical to that found in Ibis, but as a family of 4 wishing to share same suite we have to use Novotel. The difference in price is typically £35 more for the same room. On a very minor point, can not see why rooms only offer paper cups for coffee and why there are only 2! My eldest daughter also drinks tea/coffee! I know I could have asked for more, but shouldn't have to really.

Very friendly welcome, great room, excellent evening meal and service. Location ideal for overnight stop off motorway. Children happy as PlayStation worked. However, all good was undone on check-out by receptionist who didn't say good morning, tried to insist that taxe de séjour had not been paid on pre-paid internet booking (everything paid in advance and Novotel paperwork showing everything paid in advance), then tried to charge for breakfasts which had also been pre-paid. Left feeling horrible.
