Fairly conventional Mercure, close to the centre with secure parking. Excellent restaurant and friendly attentive staff. Niort itself is worth a visit with an impressive castle and an attractive and historic town centre. A good overnight stop on the way South which we will return to.

My connection with Mercure and the other hotels in the Group goes back a long, long time - sufficient indication of my satisfaction in a wide range of locations : in fact we stayed at Nantes a few days ago and have already booked a week with you in Nice in August. Niort for us was part of a family celebration arranged by me. My wife and I drove from Hampdhire, UK and met up with my son, his wife and child, at Niort Mercure.Both cars used Sat Navs and both had unacceptable diffiulties getting to the hotel. Road works quite close to the Hotel made the last part of the journey extremely difficult. Neither St Nav could cope and simply took us back again and again to the blockage. The hotel was aware of the problem and made no effort to warn us or advise of a very simple alternative route.My wife and I, both 80 yrs old, arrived exhausted and were stunned to find that we had been allocated the most unsuitable room in the Hotel. There was no one there to help and there was no lift connecting our room to recept.I manhandled our luggage to the room. Finding the room quite impossible I returned to reception where I got a rather poor reception from a staff member who continued fiddling away at his computer while I spoke to him. He responded better when I exploded and eventually provided an alternative room. It was a disgraceful intrusion into what should have been a relaxing and enjoyable experience.I feel sure that you will want to address the Hotel situation and at worst reimburse me for our unsatisfactory stay at the Mercure Niort.Dr John Walshe

We have stayed in this hotel on previous occasions and as Always have been treated with courtesy and charm by the staff. We find the hotel very comfortable and really appreciate the easy access to the town centre and all its facilities.

everything is always perfect. . they are doing their best. Rooms are very clean,the restaurant is very good and the waiters know how to suggest you....it is The Hotel where I go each time I have to be at Niort.

My family have stayed at this hotel 5 times over the last 3 years , since it is halfway distance from our home to our inlaws in spain.The staff are welcoming , the evening meal is consistently of a high standard .the rooms are very warm . the mattresses are very hard however .
